  1. The difference is that releasing the information when they say they will is the difference between bare competence and contempt.
  2. Yeah, I noticed that. It's boring now.
  3. Actually I did suggest they might, early in the 2010/11 season. And I also repeated it last week. I'd like to say I was wrong, but as I'm sitting here hitting F5, I am only struck by the contemptuous attitude of the club's media approach to its fans. "This evening" does not stretch to gone midnight, no matter how many hits they want on their site.
  4. Jesus, people. Clueless.
  5. I hate the away kit and love the home kit. It's just someone's blog though...
  6. I think you're on your own there, I mocked one up and it looks horrific with that stupid double-collar thing. Besides, we've heard a very sound rumour on here that the home kit has the New York Cosmos-style collar on it, which doesn't seem to be compatible with existing designs, though I suppose it's feasible that we might have the hooped sleeve template and a different collar.
  7. Yes, and the relevance of this is what ? They were selling the "wrong way sash" non-Saints kit for a year before Saints got a professional version of one.
  8. This has been the case since before the end of the season. Also, why would us only having certain sizes left have anything to do with when the new kit is coming out ?
  9. Cork was a very decent player in a pretty dire side - losing him at Xmas to Watford (?) on loan left us struggling to fill the gap. Hard-working, a good passer and defensively shrewd with a bit of creativity, would be a perfect Championship / Prem signing with room to improve and make his mark.
  10. Funnily enough, Hajduk split have just taken on that "overused" Umbro (Rangers away / Athletic Bilbao) template for next season too : The shorts are decidedly 2010 (same as black/red Saints away shorts but with piping in the same colour) and the socks are as generic as can be, so it basically looks like another teamwear-type thing (though the shirt isn't yet a teamwear style I bet it is for 2012) - Umbro tend to use the older templates for non-core countries around Europe and in South America.
  11. As the last 4 years is a part of the longer 7 year period, it's not factually incorrect. But then you've always had trouble with identifying the concepts of fact and truth in an argument. I like that I didn't even have to point out the hypocrisy of your argument that my evidence was "speculation", as it might have made it look like I was taking you seriously.
  12. I notice from the article that Cork is playing in the U-21 match at St Mary's on Sunday. Now THERE'S an opportunity to turn his head.
  13. I think there's room for a combination of short-term stop-gap signings and longer-term good enough for the Championship ones - at the moment Adkins has done well with the former (Stephens gave us an option beyond Gobern, N'Guessan was cover who only became useful to have when we lost Lallana and Oxlade-Chamberlain) and the jury's still out on Forte and Chaplow in the Championship, but they were both playing for bottom 6 sides when we signed them. So far no-one Adkins has signed has looked like a long-term starter, but that may be because we already had enough to get up. Now is the time when we will see if we've got the money and the manager to challenge in the Championship. And Adkins hasn't been a cheque-book manager before.
  14. Alpine is. Usually.
  15. I have a great deal of respect for him for maximising his career earnings since he hasn't actually been both fit enough and good enough to play for any of the teams he's been with for about the last ten years.
  16. Fan-based income is only a small proportion of a club's overall money at any level of football above the Championship in England due to the tv deals. So whilst it "ain't rocket science", it also "ain't true". Wigan seem to be coping up there on small crowds and have done for the last 7 seasons.
  17. I'd be very pleased with this signing too.
  18. There will be no "saving", as I was paying off interest charges on the loan I took out for last year's ST with the money I would have been saving. So that makes no difference to me. I'm prepared to try and find money earlier to get instalments back though as that's much more convenient. Of course the other thing is the lingering doubt that we'll have STs at all, so I'd rather hear the news sooner rather than later one way or another...
  19. Long, Kebe and Mills would be my picks, and yes, these are the sort of players I'm hoping we're going to be signing. We already have the core of a mid-table side, so we need some genuine proven quality to get us further up. There are various reasons why they won't sign, but I hope money isn't one of them.
  20. I think if you have more than 5 you become susceptible to playing against players who can run.
  21. I'll start getting excited about it when we're doing that sort of thing in a decent league as opposed to our lowest two league positions for 50 years.
  22. Make your mind up, how am I going to pay for these "other interests"? All my money is tied up in potentially paying for a Season Ticket of indeterminate value. At. Some. Point.
  23. I'm just struggling to work out where we'd fit 5 Rickie Lamberts into the side. Ok, one as target man, one out on the right when he's meant to be in the middle, and one hitting the long passes from the middle out to the winger. Oh yeah, then we could have one who is actually on the end of crosses. And I guess one who plays alongside Fonte to defend corners, but I think that one would get dropped. Can you imagine the arguments over free kicks?
  24. Nothing yet, though I did find the original link to last season's announcement and prices from May 31st 2010 (as suspected) : http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2062493,00.html AGAIN, THIS IS FROM 2010...
  25. I hate quoting massive posts, but there doesn't seem to be a "LIKE" button. So, nothing to do with the fans then, nothing to see here, move along...
