I've never seen Rickie run like he's sharted, for a start. Actually I'm not sure I've ever seen him run, but that's by the bye. He's definitely not one of the top 10 outside the Prem at the moment. I think I'd have Matt Mills and Fonte in that list over a couple of the players I've never heard of, the striker with one goal in 40 being the first candidate for the chop.

Jeez, they're easily impressed aren't they ? "Wonder goal" ? Meh. I had also completely forgotten his existence, and I'm right there with yer Sarmientos, Chalas, Tejeras, Ela Eyenes, Yahias and Ariases.

10 years at St Mary's this season, are the club planning any kind of merchandising, marketing, commemoration or anything else, and should they be ?

New template acquired, so here's my latest full away kit effort... And don't blame me for the ugly grey toes, blame Umbro !
-
Looks like I have to get myself back over to the fm-view Forum for the latest Umbro template. Still going for the Cosmos collar on the home and an away which looks like a reverse of the Sweden away though.
-
He did play on the right of a midfield 3 at Brighton, but was with defence in mind, and doesn't make him a winger either. He'll be leaving unless no-one else wants him, pretty obvious it's unresolved because we've made a token offer of the same contract he was already on to guarantee tribunal money if he leaves, and he's trying to get something better.
-
I'd be very surprised if it wasn't announced at least a few days before that match. I see Rangers have a red away with the same pattern as Athletic Bilbao, Sunderland away, Livingston, etc. Starting to look VERY like that's Umbro's default second kit - but then somewhere on this thread it hints at our away having a sash...

Carling Cup 1st Round Draw (Thurs 16th June!)-Who Do You Want To Get!?!
The9 replied to dannysfc's topic in The Saints
I'll add to my initial Oxford and Aldershot with AFC Wimbledon, which would be amusing as my boss is on their committee, and I'd like to see Saints murder Crawley as they're a fairly unpleasant little club with some big ideas who haven't endeared themselves to anyone in the last year or so. -

Been overly sarcastic ? Failed to bother to read the thread before posting the same ill-informed crap as a number of other people, certainly. Made yourself look like a bit of a wazzock ? Arguably. -
You said "man up", therefore you lose the argument. It's the new Godwin's Law.

Except we won't, as has been clearly explained repeatedly already on this thread. -

Aldershot or Oxford away for me too. But we haven't been drawn away in a Cup for nearly 2 years. -
I also think this is more like wishful thinking or lack of attention to detail...

Come to think of it, I bought the wife a home shirt with her new name on it for her wedding present... now if only I could remember when my first wedding anniversary is... ...anyway, I'm too busy backtracking on the "old kits preseason" thing to worry about that. I'm pretty sure we used to do it occasionally in the 1990s, even if we haven't done it since because there's always been a "current" kit to use. I suppose we've only changed sponsors twice since 1999 so there's been limited scope for it to be a "big deal".
-
Just for the record, we don't have triangular corner flags and never have had at St Marys (even last season's sash ones were rectangular), and the triangular corner flag thing was made up in the film Twin Town and as far as I am aware has absolutely no basis in reality. Also, I hear Belmadi's moved out of his igloo into a windmill and Butterfield tastes like Feta Cheese on Thursdays.
-
Kleber Chala has won the Copa Libertadores. Djamel Belmadi lives in an igloo. John Arne Riise has scored as many goals for Saints as Patrick Colleter. Jhon Viafara has an underwear sponsorship deal with Prada. Torpedo Moscow are named after Federico Arias.
-
Well here's Saganowski v Ajax at St Mary's... away kit recently launched to replace the grey one that we had from the first Umbro season, home kit was the same as the previous season but we wore the new away kit at home for no good reason. I still haven't yet found us wearing old kit preseason - mostly because in the last 10 years we've usually launched a kit before any matches begin.
-
The problem with "proving it" is that the only photos of Saints pre-season matches are generally from the "big" game at the end of preseason, eg Anderlecht and Panathanaikos, by which time they've already launched the home kit. It's the obscure games like Farnborough and Salisbury where we tend to trot out the previous season's kit. I vaguely recall last preseason we wore the black kit in every match in Switzerland, because we launched that one first.
-
We sometimes just wear the previous season's kit in pre-season until there's a kit launch, then we wear whatever we've got, e.g. the new away kit at home, etc.
-
A new away kit is still "a new kit".

Not to mention impossible : http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/06/secrets_of_the_fixture_compute.html
-
Well, we still don't know what it is going to look like, but we DO know when they'll first be wearing it : http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2372946,00.html

Brilliant attempt at misdirection from MLG here, seemingly claiming that the team's manager is as anonymous as three of the scouts that 99% of people will have had no reason to even think about, based on some people near him not being able to see who is who from 40 yards when they're all wearing the same clothes. FWIW, I should think the OS is waiting for a slow(er) news month to announce it, or they just won't bother. There's nothing resembling consistency with what gets posted as news and what doesn't.

So the basis of this argument seems to be that due to the lower quality of striker remaining in the nPC there will be far fewer goals scored next season, right ?
