That was worthwhile.

And FWIW, I'm sure that whichever new signing Saints trot out in the new kit will be given as the reason for the delay. This is of course a load of bobbins, as any idiot can do it a kit launch and produce promo materials without having to hang the kit on a new signing - and it's not like we haven't got 10 of them from last season who haven't had the opportunity to do the "new kit" thing yet anyway.

Different Ownership and Managment, same old summer

If anyone was paying attention I already answered this 4 pages ago... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=750068&postcount=78 -
If you had hair on your palms you were obviously Steve Grant. Now the back of your hands, that's fairly normal.
-
If anything, I'm pretty confident that's the fob-off cop-out plain striped "can't be bothered" Year 4 of 5 template we'll be using for the 2011/12 kit next year actually !
-
I'm fairly confident that the first World Cup goal will come before Christmas.
-
Semi-Final then, unless they finish in the same positions in their respective groups in which case the Final.
-
If North Korea score at all, it'll be Jong. The problem is whether they'll score.
-
I did exactly this in 2002, got 1 group winner out of 8 and won about £80 betting on the extremely obvious "Senegal to try really hard against nervous France and maybe beat them" opening game at 9/1. My "obvious surprise result" for this World Cup involves France losing to pretty much everyone as well, and South Korea comfortably beating Nigeria and Greece to line up an easy second round match and trip to the QFs.
-
I have absolutely no idea. Short of the opener at a mate's, one of the england games in Varsity and New Zealand v Slovakia in O'Neills in Winchester due to a work meeting, I haven't given locations a second thought.
-
I note the eventual penners loss in 1998 has been glossed over. Rather takes the shine off what was a very good 10-man performance. "Quickly, is he going to score Kevin ?" Glad I was in Lyon watching it in my hotel so I only had French commentary (not so glad I'd sold my match ticket earlier in the day, but it paid for the 3 weeks I was out there...)

Any more ? This should be stickied so there's some comeback, in my entirely biased view.
-
Noticable new Umbro logo on the shirts - seems to be the same shadow stripe pattern as the Northern Ireland one too. I've given up waiting for ours now, I'm just going to bang on about everyone elses. Swans can break an arm you know.
-
I DID get an email about STs being on sale 6 days after the OS news - but then that's usually a monthly Saints bulletin anyway.
-
Oh balls, (arf), just forked out £30 each for three 2008/9 Serie A matchballs (£85 RRP).
-
Errrrrrrrm, I heard they'd redesigned the badge to include a ball again, and that's what the delay is - and it's a Jabulani ball off of the World Cup.* HAH ! now it's Saints-related AND kit-related. *and completely made up.
-
What, yer actual £90 Jabulani with all the ridgey line bits on it and everything, or a £12 replica ? More difficult to tell with this one than the 2006 ball, the Teamgeist replicas were standard crappo 32 panel jobbies, these replicas have the same number of panels as the real thing. I was just going to say "don't you start" on the ball-slating front, but my attention to detail got the better of me.
-
I think that's really the point here. That and (possibly) clicky-clicky ad revenue. At least until we get to another point where people are expecting the shirt to be launched "soon" again.

Death to the Infidel. :smt076:smt076:smt076:smt076:smt076 Or something.

Let's face it, if the "three reshoot" stories from earlier in this thread are true, it's entirely because Cortese is obsessed with detail at the expense of the bigger picture. Not that I'm suggesting that is the case, but there is no way that this cack-handed effort at "teasing" the product is what they had planned.
-
Erm, I'm 37 and I'll be buying it whatever, so hardly.
-
When it comes down to it, it's someone's job to know about that kind of cobblers. Actually, if it was MY job I'd bloody love it, but that's just me. FWIW, this is next season's Football League mitre ball style, the "Tensile" : Last year's was this one : Now if someone can find some smaller images...
-
Funnily enough I'd already decided it could be just to do with ad-clicks, as it's exactly in line with the cynical policy for selling tickets on a match-by-match basis this season. If I was being equally as cynical. And no, despite the natural hype coming from the 125th Anniversary (which explains most of the interest, because we are expecting it to be different) with the Surman campaign we were just discussing the kit - at a time when we were all considering going out buying it, rather than watching wall-to-wall footy on the telly instead.
-
Ok, then it is extremely likely that if they had any promotional material they would be using it. Other Umbro kit launches so far this summer have had at least had decent supporting material, whether Umbro made or club-taken. It's only Swansea's poor effort today, basically rubbish poses on a hillside overlooking their ground with last year's mitre ball design, and the fact that West Ham, Hull and Birmingham have all abandoned the brand, that makes me think that it might be Umbro not Saints who are failing here due to their World Cup commitments.

One teaser is to be expected, one teaser followed by another one appearing late and saying nothing else only implies "we've f'cked up".
