    SWF v.s PO

I still haven't come through with the DVD, I know... I have still got a copy and it's to hand now too... The9 (see above) CF (and no.9, as bagsy-shotgunned ) other position, CB if absolutely desperate. PS if you're looking for a neutral venue, isn't there a small club ground in Hamble we could use?

    SWF v.s PO

I thought they were crap in both games, if slightly more organised in the second one for the reason stated.

Let's hope this Facebook link works then... http://www.facebook.com/video/?id=708351930&s=30&hash=911c6c712e59331569eef0928825ab2e#!/video/video.php?v=7442761930 One of my better efforts at the 13 second mark, where's Linvoy's Afro when you need him?

    SWF v.s PO

Modesty prevents me posting this : Bloody Hamster STILL hasn't changed the reference to Griffo on there, tsk. At least he set this one up : Here's the footage from the Moneyfields game (goals by Baj, stevegrant, me from the terrible goalkick and Greedyfly aka GreenwichSaint) I think I've got the Eastleigh match somewhere too...

    SWF v.s PO

Hmmm, if I have any excuse to start posting my 35 yarder from the last PO match I'll be happy... Like I need one. Ps why's Goldenballs not on the shortlist? He was good at Bournemouth (mumble mumble I scored at both ends, overhead kick, etc) PPS PrideoftheSouth is not a striker. PPPS Spose I'd be interested, had a knee op since the Forum match (scored twice in that) and heinously unfit, but bagsie/shotgun number 9 PPPPS Hampshire Police would probably insist on a "proper" venue due to potential crowd issues (seriously, the last two games were at Moneyfields and Eastleigh FC, people turned up).
  6. It's garbage, I heard more than a month ago that Cortese wanted rid of flybe. We were never going to renew, and they don't fit the profile of companies we want to do business with any more.
  7. I should think they probably do. Guarantees you're on the database and means they don't have to hire as many staff at the windows.
  8. Yeah, but any kit by another manufacturer will look cack in recreation because it'll just look like a tacky knock-off (just like the rubbish effort at recreating the 1976 yellow kit a few seasons ago for the 30th anniversary, when they couldn't have the Admiral logos down the sleeve stripe, and the team didn't wear the same kit as the sponsorless replica anyway). Umbro need to either create something basic so it looks traditional, or create something based on a pre-logo era kit. The "tailored by" range certainly looks like our best bet - even Man City have shown a sensitivity to tradition with the tiny sponsor's logo on their white away kit so it doesn't interfere with the integrity of the diagonal stripes - ours being completely sponsor-free will sell shedloads if it's just not actually ugly.
  9. Sir Ken Nad.
  10. You are Dan Kerins.
  11. Sniff, I'm going to a Christening that weekend, and my left leg hasn't been the same since the knee op in November... We'd be lucky to get a team when the allocation is only 800.
  12. They sorted it on penalties after the draw, as per the competition rules.
  13. I suspect it's pretty much like that for anyone who hasn't either played for the IFC team or met Dan(ny) Kerins and/or Lungs/Minty/SaintSausage/stevegrant/CabbageFace/Banana Factor/me in person. Dan Kerins is a lumberjack and he's ok.
  14. Other than where and what size the adverts are (FL rules), and that it can't be similar to the keeper's shirt (Laws of the game generally), I don't think there are. Though I suspect anything obscene would also fall foul of the FL...
  15. Had this problem last week with my g/f's account. If you actually want to use your account rather than just have your mate do it all the time, then email David Luker, he'll forward it for someone to reset your password. The issue is that the system has a blank email address set on your account for you, so when you use Cust # and password it recognises the number and says you're already registered on there, but when you try to use your email address to get the password reset it doesn't match up and doesn't have anywhere to send it.
  16. Well it had better be, the current team kit was originally a one year deal in 2008, then only extended into the second year of use due to flybe renewing for an additional season. Every other team wearing Umbro is already on their 2009/10 templates and we're already a season out of date. Plus of course, how would it be a replica if it wasn't a copy of the real thing ?
  17. I've just read half the article. "He said Amarillo" now fits nicely in with my other quote. I have to dispute the whole "where you were born" thing being the issue though. Although I *do* also hate Cardiff City.
  18. I'd allow it, purely for the correct spelling of "your". Anyway, I'm Dan Kerins, and Windows 7 was my idea. He's not Dan Kerins, he's a very naughty boy. Etc.
  19. Thanks, wasn't sure about that, as you can tell. Mostly because half the time until the mid 70s they didn't even bother putting the logo on kits they made (eg England's 1966 shirts), but also due to the similarity of Saints, Sunderland, Stoke, Sheff U etc. kits until "kit design" came along, it was difficult to tell which was which in photos unless you knew the players - which I didn't, when I was 1-3 years old and had never heard of Southampton.
  20. Um, unless I've missed some unbranded 1960s shirt, the current home one is the first Saints umbro kit, so I think we can rule that out...
  21. Its been known that Cortese has been looking for a blue-chip sponsor for some time, and that flybe as a budget airline wasn't felt to reflect well upon Saints. There was never any question of renewing, and, just as Leicester have done on their home kit this season for their 125th Anniversary, it'll be nice not to have a sponsor for a change. Whether that means he just couldn't get us a big brand at the moment, or whether its a ploy to disassociate the club from the past with a view to selling the ad at higher rates the season after remains to be seen. On an unrelated note, the shiny polyester (and therefore far more authentic) replicas of the 1980s Patrick kit now on sale in the club shop are vastly superior to the old cotton ones, though personally I'd still want an original or not bother. I can see us staying with Umbro as per the original deal, which might even give us the possibility of one of their "tailored by" style shirts a la England and Man City, rather than the standard templates we have at the moment (2008/9 for the home and 2009/10 for the away, unsurprisingly). As their main selling point is uncluttered, classic tailoring of traditional-styled shirts, that would be perfectly in line. Something in plain stripes would be fine by me. It does raise the spectre of the quartered shirts, and the less ugly white with red sash though. :smt103
  22. Michael Wilde is a better left back, and has more hair. Come to think of it, he's probably a better striker too. Ergo, Lung = Kerin. FFS FACT.
  23. Personally I think that all players in all teams need to get used to the way their colleagues play, how long that takes depends on their position, their type of style and can also take into account experience. Strikers generally can get away with slotting into any side as their mistakes don't matter as much, midfielders need to have awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of all their colleagues which takes time, and defenders need to communicate more than any other positions, which also takes time. And of course when you play crappy opponents there's often the tendency not to give 100%, especially when one of the more naturally hard-working example-giving players is missing. Sometimes players just "fit", sometimes colleagues have to amend their game from what they have become accustomed to to make things work. At the moment, we're not playing particularly well because we've got half a midfield playing and one of our new centre-backs (Fonte) just whacks the thing up the pitch every time he gets it, which makes playing football a bit tricky.
  24. Originally on 16th at 7:45, then moved to 9th at 7pm, now moved to 9th at 7:45 (which tbf is normal kickoff time), they publicised all of the changes on the OS and as we've got so many rearranged games due to our cup runs it's not really surprising things aren't quite in sync - the scoreboard showed Exeter as our next away game during the Ipswich match, when we were away to Brentford 3 days later!
  25. Oi, actually that's MY opinion, you stole it from me in response to you says he was "sho1te" on Facebook! And yeah, he's 24, shocking isn't it?
