  1. They haven't, and there isn't. Plenty of teams in Admin have played in the FA Cup in the last 10 years (and before that). Notts County were in admin for getting on for nearly the 18 month limit a few seasons back, they played in it.
  2. Recap : High Court adjourns for 7 days. They wanted 28. HMRC wants them wound up, claims they are insolvent and can't pay ANY of their debts. HMRC also claim the debt is £11m not the £7.5m previously claimed. 7 day adjournment, but due to other caseload that won't be heard until at least 19th Feb. The match is definitely on.
  3. I'd say you were definitely right.
  4. They will still appeal nevertheless.
  5. It doesn't have to be 1-0, if they win by any margin of one goal it would still go straight to penalties, there is no away goals rule.
  6. Ok, never mind all the other stuff, lets just go for the vulgar but exceedingly amusing option of waving wads of Monopoly notes at them. A fellow poster suggested it to me a few weeks ago, and has gone out and scanned some. I've blown them up a bit bigger so you can get 3 a sheet of A4, and asked Mr stevegrant Esq. if he'll host a word file so people can print them off. One small problem at the mo is that they're pink notes, so if anyone can get a vector version to print on coloured paper that'll be great, if not, print these in colour on white paper. For instance...
  7. Apart from anything, the PL is basically run by the member clubs of the PL, who presumably all have some interest in the Premier League not kicking them when they're in trouble... ...and to be fair all that's happened so far is they've redirected funds owing straight to creditor clubs within the Premier League. They can't do anything else (outside of the laughable Fit and Proper Persons test) until there's administration when these rules kick in. Not paying players is an issue for the PFA and between the player and the club, and though it is usually a trigger for admin, nothing to do with the Premier League until they can't put 11 players on the pitch due to not having enough left under contract.

    Poopey Ticket update

    There's a biscuit shortage at Tesco ? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit I'm off !
  9. Didn't happen much the last 3 times they came here.
  10. Never mind "wouldn't surprise you", do we actually have to find a bloody link, it's a well know fact? Well anyway : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/dorset/3861873.stm
  11. Not the last time they came to us, that was the time-before-last we went to them, and as Hatch has said, the only involvement Saints fans had in it was having to stand in a hailstorm in the middle of Fratton while the locals torched a police car in a petrol station and heaved rubble around their own city, fighting the police instead of us lot because we were so well protected. Having said that I missed most of the first half thanks to the police cordon around us and nearly got crushed in the rush for the turnstiles, but there were still about 3000 Skate mongs out in the street near the away end when we were finally allowed to arrive - thirty minutes into the match, which was going on inside a ground less than 10 yards from where they were, and also live on tv. One suspects they were not there for the football. The square root of bugger all happened last time they came to us.
  12. Not curious at all, the game was originally on 16th at 7:45, then moved to 9th at 7pm "in case it was on tv" - which also doubled as a method of freeing up 16th for a rearranged match or FA Cup replay, then when Sky decided to show the North Area Final instead, they moved it back to the normal 7:45pm kickoff. I don't think tickets were available when the date was intended to be 16th, so the only tickets out there will have one of the two kick off times on the 9th on them depending on what the anticipated ko time was when they were issued. Mine's got 7pm on it as well.
  13. Is there a convenient petrol station nearby that we could try to set on fire ?
  14. Jeeze, has there ever been a high profile match without this kind of guff going around a Forum before ?
  15. Decided against making a separate thread for this... Cuptied tonight : Puncheon, Seaborne, Otsemobor, Barnard. Injured : Connolly, Hammond, Murty. Cuptied Saturday : Fonte, Puncheon, Seaborne, Otsemobor, Pulis, Martin. Injured : Connolly, Hammond ?, Murty.
  16. Um, what they're saying is equally open to the interpretation that they WILL act in the same manner as the FL have. To me it reads that the rules are set in stone, except for a situation like the one Saints were in, in which case they'll use their discretion to apply the usual rules even though technically the club isn't in admin. Evidently reading the other comments I'm not the only one who thinks this. What they're doing is one-upping the FL to say "we'll probably apply the rules in that case", whilst the FL said "our rules apply when we see fit". If you want to moan, ask why it's only 9 points not 10 (the argument would be that they play fewer games in the Prem).
  17. This is the crux of the matter - the Prem has a 9 point deduction but no rules about dodging an "effective" deduction, so my money is on them going in Admin when already relegated, for which there is no Prem punishment - unlike in the FL where as we all know if you're getting relegated anyway they will hold -10 over until the next season. So they take the -9 despite going into admin, they've been punished, and according to their own rules the FL can't punish them unless they stay in Admin for a full season. Though of course the FL kinda wangled the rules to punish us, so it would be interesting to see what happens - if they survive that long. Personally I think there's a very good chance HMRC might just decide they can't make the tax payments and the new owner isn't reliable enough to sort out a schedule, and they could go under completely within a month even with an appeal.
  18. You can't buy a league position, you've never been able to. The rules prior to 1992 were that any merger (for example) would take the league position of the lower placed club, and even post-Prem with the FA valuing money over making fair rulings for the benefit of football, only the extremely unfortunate Wimbledon situation regarding Merton Council allowed a place with NO club to adopt an existing one. As for Amarillo, your feelings are my feelings, and that's why we should reclaim the song for our own purposes on Saturday. Something along the lines of "shanananananana and the Skates are going bust" should do it nicely, much worse than just being relegated...
  19. I've seen him catch hundreds of crosses, you rarely see him totally misjudge one the way some kamikaze keepers do. That said, he's gone under a couple this season (notably a direct throw in a couple of weeks ago). I think Bart's better at crosses but Kelvin's a better shot stopper.
  20. Um, no. No keeper in the world would have been able to make the decision to collect that corner based on a split second of where it was landing and the players around. If he'd come and been blocked it would have been a much worse decision than staying.

    Big Week

For the x-zillionth time, even if they get wound up this week they will appeal and will only wind up when that appeal is rejected. Happened to Kings Lynn FC in November, took 3 weeks after the winding up petition was accepted for the appeal to be thrown out. And if they knock us out then go bust we'll remain knocked out and the 6th round draw will have a bye. Or more accurately it'll have "Portsmouth" who will fail to fulfil the fixture, leading to a walkover.
  22. There are far more in the lower leagues.

I think it will come out on Monday and you worry too much.
  24. Rabbit, despite your wishes I will not allow you to give me your AIDS. Also, it still looks like England 2000 not River. And the red shorts are cack. And Stu is right, some use of Football League name/number would be better, though I can't fault the name/number used.
  25. Usually they are the same ones.
