Well that didn’t last very long. Cedric very poor.
-
Hoedt was lucky to get away with that. Very poor. Lucky that the shot was straight at McCarthy.
-
A screamer from Bertrand! Get in!!!!
-
Best chance of the half right at the end. Decent first half for Saints.
-
Looked like a foul on Long, just outside the box.
-
Wolves sat back all game and looked to score on the break. Their only goal came from a deliberate handball that no one (including the City defenders) seemed to notice. City hit the post at least three times. I think that a City win would have been perfectly fair, especially considering that Wolves pulled a Decoure with their goal.

This is it. No Maya or Gabbiadini on the bench.

Thanks very much for this. Interesting information from Hughes re Harrison Reed possibility leaving, Targett probably staying and the January recall clause.
-
Good luck to him. I like Sims I’ll be fascinated to see how he does.

Arsenal could have had two more after the equalizer.

v. enjoyable.

Decent finish for the Arsenal goal, but the most expensive keeper in the world probably could have saved it.

Puel returns (again).Vardy is suspended for this game. Will be interesting to see what defensive personnel Hughes employees for this one after the Everton match.
-
Vardy got a red today, so he should be suspended for next weekend’s game.

Centre defence looked awful today. Both Stephens and Hoedt were poor, but Hoedt was worse. In the first half it seemed like with every attacking set piece for the home team, an Everton head got to the ball first. Undone by a training ground free kick on the first goal, in which Morgan set up Theo to score, and then opened with ease for the second goal, with Richarliason jumping all over Cedric to score from Theo Walcott’s cross. I’d start Vestergaard (assuming he’s recovered from his illness) and Yoshi over Hoedt and Stephens. Bednarek may well be better in the centre of defence than Hoedt. Saints looked better in the second half, but after Ings’ goal the substitutions seemed to suck all momentum out of the team. Long and Gabbiadini were pretty anonymous. Ings and Austin at least had some decent chances in the first half. Idrissa Guaye looked excellent for them in midfield.
-
Niasse turned Stephens far too easily.
-
Armstrong on for JWP
-
Ings cleaned out by the Everton keeper. He’s not looking too cheerful.
-
Hoedt almost did something good there, a long range pass just too long for Gabbiadini.
-
Romeu off for Gabbiadini
-
Gabbiadini about to come on according to the commentators.
-
Everton really should have scored through Walcott. Hoedt looking lost again. Defence carved open.
-
Theo scores again but it’s offside.
-
Bertrand and Redders have linked up well in the second half.
-
Tosun turned Hoedt there and almost ended up clear on goal. I think it was Cedric that saved Hoedt’s blushes.
