Adam Blackmore with a teasing tweet... “Boufal’s departure may well pave the way for the club to replace him with another winger/forward..” https://mobile.twitter.com/AdamBlackmore/status/1020353547043594240 When asked if he was guessing or was informed, Adam Blackmore replied “both”.

Andy Carroll is certainly always good for a laugh...agree re FF but was referring (clumsily) to the decision to give him that contract extension last year.

I’ve been looking around the OS for evidence that they will be streaming it, but haven’t found anything yet. Derby County are charging their supporters a £5 PPV fee to watch it on RamsTV.
-
Boufal, Carrillo, Forster., Clasie...not to mention Osvaldo and Gaston...it might be time to stop laughing at West Ham.

FWIW, confirmed by the club here... https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-07-20/sofiane-boufal-southampton-celta-vigo-loan-announcement

The release clause is £16.5M according to this... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/07/17/newcastle-have-loan-bid-salomon-rondon-rejected-west-brom/ Because it’s a release clause situation, West Brom may insist on getting the full amount up front if they don’t want to lose him, which might be an issue.

When I made my order, I got an e-mail back from them saying that while the order is being processed we have not entered into a binding contract, or words to that affect. I’m not a lawyer, but if they make an offer for a shirt they say is available, which is accepted and consideration is provided in the form of the £24 cost of the shirt, it seems like a pretty binding contract to me. Their online inventory system does not exactly sound like a well-oiled machine, based on some of the comments on here. I’ve had issues with SportsDirect in the past mainly related to problems with international deliveries, which is why I stopped buying stuff from the for about 5 years until I heard about this offer. That being said, my order seems to be going through. So far.

Catalan newspaper Sport reporting that “a move to Southampton is dead”... http://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-said-still-interested-signing-player-price-plummets/ West Ham are still possibly interested.

Newcastle’s loan bid for Rondon rejected by West Brom... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/07/17/newcastle-have-loan-bid-salomon-rondon-rejected-west-brom/ -
I wonder how West Ham managed to find all that money.

Sky news “I’m told they [City] want him”... https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/989568/Man-City-transfer-news-Sky-Sports-Southampton Manchester Evening News: City are not pursuing another holding midfielder after losing out on Jorginho. “The Blues have also been very interested in Southampton's Mario Lemina, but they have misgivings as to whether he is the right man for them.”... https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-transfers-jorginho-alternative-14914749

It says that the Ings reports are “wide of the mark, at least at this stage”, so perhaps the door is left open a crack. When discussing Ing’s playing history, it mentions “The 25-year-old went onto play for Cherries and Burnley, before joing Liverpool,” which makes me wonder if the Echo uses a word processor with spell check enabled.

If the club insisted on buying a crocked striker from Liverpool, wouldn’t Sturridge be the better option?

The Sun reckon that Fulham are targeting Malcolm from Bourdeux, with Inter also interested... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6783667/fulham-inter-milan-bordeaux-winger-malcom/ -
Decent price. Thanks.

£20M for Ings? I hope that the Sun is making that up.

£25M seems like a very high starting price. -
We’re basically defending without a LWB in all of these breaks by Belgium.

Good job of tracking back by Danny Rose for the Belgium goal.

Pellegrino had this explanation for only signing a 1 year contract with Leganes. He sounds a little bitter... “The conversations were always for two or three years. In the end, we felt more comfortable with a one year deal. The contracts serve more to tear than to build closer ties. I come from Southampton after signing a three years and that did not earn me anything...” http://sportwitness.co.uk/mauricio-pellegrino-wants-avoid-southampton-contract-mistake-leganes/

I’d rather we get the fellow who replaced him at Twente.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
Saint Albert replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
Welcome to the club, Jannik Vestergaard! Hopefully this signing will help to fix some of the problems our defence had defending high deliveries last season. That’s 4 signings so far, all with reasonable prospects of being regulars in the starting 11. I’m encouraged. -

A Danish newspaper is reporting that there is a “pause” in the Vestergaard deal, as Southampton wait for Borussia Monchengladbach to provide the final paperwork... http://sportwitness.co.uk/denmark-reason-pause-vestergaard-southampton-issue-gladbach-end/
