  1. England are presently top of the group based on fair play points - England have two yellows to Belgium’s three. Runner up looks to have an easier run of fixtures in the playoffs.
  2. Step away from the tiki torch. Do you really want to compare Les Reed to Adolph ****ing Hitler? Do you really think that using the phrase “Hitler did good” is a good idea?
  3. Finishing second in their group behind Belgium may end up being an OK outcome for England.
  4. Is there any chance at all that this fellow is a replacement for Davis rather than Tadic?
  5. ...I’d imagine that his willingness to stay is subject to his prospects of getting first team opportunities at Saints this season. I’ll be interested to see how this pans out.
  6. ...according to this, Everton are offering up a couple of their fringe players to sweeten the deal... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6597402/everton-transfer-news-mo-besic-ramiro-funes-mori-ben-gibson/
  7. Russia’s improved performances in this World Cup are raising a few red flags for some journalists... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-cup/2018/06/21/fifa-refuse-reveal-russia-drug-test-numbers-following-hostss/
  8. Who knows what’s going on. Tadic is a proven PL performer with a decent fitness record. He needs to be replaced by a proven performer with a decent fitness record, not someone with potential, or a benchwarmer at a big club or someone with a poor injury record.
  9. Both Saints and Everton are after Mooy, according to this SI article, which is based on an HITC article, which is based on a Sun article... https://www.si.com/soccer/2018/06/21/everton-and-southampton-target-ps18m-huddersfield-star-premier-league-transfer-battle
  10. The club has not done a good job replacing attacking players lately (I’m thinking mainly about the replacements for Pelle and Mané) I hope they have someone decent lined up who can replace Tadic’s goals and assists.
  11. I voted for you. Seems like a good idea to have someone who can provide updates back to the forum.
  12. “A fee of around £15m has been mooted but Saints will push hard to get as much as they can for Tadic, who has two years left on his current contract.” This implies that there is not a fixed release clause.
  13. Me too. I have a hard time believing Les and Co. would have allowed a release clause to be inserted in his contract. He’s a really important player in my opinion. Without his performances at the end of the season we’d probably be contemplating life in the Championship.
  14. £15M seems a bit light to me.
  15. “SCHIPHOL - Ajax is about to close a megadeal. The Amsterdammers have reached a personal agreement with Dusan Tadic (29) about a contract for four seasons. Financial director Jeroen Slop and director of player policy Marc Overmars flew to Southampton to talk to the Premier League club about the (limited) transfer fee of the star player of Serbia and Southampton. The club management is counting on the transfer, which amounts to an amount of 17.1 million euros, to be completed in the coming days. Today in TELESPORT: all the details of a week-long mega project.“
  16. West Ham confident of getting Felipe Anderson over the line... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/06/20/west-ham-confident-signing-lazio-winger-felipe-anderson-club/ They’re also in talks for Alfie Mawson, according to the article.
  17. ...and Charlie enjoys the company.
  18. If Leicester have Maddison, will they still be after Patrick Roberts from City (reportedly they wanted him to replace Mahrez if they sell him to Man City), and will we be interested in Roberts, as we reportedly were last summer before he chose another loan spell at Celtic?
  19. Hopefully this goes better than the James Maddison thread.
  20. Young isn’t even left footed, Rose is overrated and spent most of the season out with serious injury before picking up a modest amount of starts. Yes Bertrand did not have his best season but he still would have been a better choice at LB for England than either of the players that were picked ahead of him.
  21. Liverpool are demanding 15M for Sturridge. He's on the last year of his contract... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/06/18/liverpool-demand-15m-daniel-sturridge-sevilla-revive-interest/
  22. He spent many games on the bench, if I remember correctly.
  23. A well-deserved win, but Tunisia were ****e.
  24. I’d hate to see him warming the bench along with Damarai Gray next season. The young talented English players need to play and I’m not sure he’s going to get that with a Leicester team that has already spent close to £50M this summer. Perhaps he’ll be OK if they let Mahrez go. For the same reason I was a little disappointed to read that Brewster will be signing a new contract with Liverpool. Anyway, move along. Can’t really blame Les and the team on this if geography truly was the deciding factor.
  25. Leicester have won the race for Maddison, and pushed their spending so far this off-season to almost £50M, according to the Sun... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6557811/james-maddison-leicester-city-norwich-city-premier-league-championship/
