  1. In some ways nothing has changed. He's a good support striker for a more traditional centre forward but not great at being the main man leading the line. We don't play two up front anymore so his weaknesses are being shown up. Obviously his form also dipped badly after he didn't get a move so that hasn't helped
  2. Glad we didn't terminate his contract
  3. For most of this season I've felt that although he's been decent, he hasnt really been tested or made any real high quality saves. But the last couple of games he has been genuinely brilliant. It's great to see him fulfilling his potential and hopefully it continues
  4. Mara was really good in his cameo. It was one of those days when every player looked great
  5. How do Blackburn keep finding these prolific goalscorers but still finishing outside the playoffs?
  6. Today gave me some optimism that with a run in the side, Che could get his form back
  7. I enjoyed these comments on the highlights of the Leeds game
  8. My only other thought was he's reading this forum. Clearly criticism from somewhere has got to him
  9. If the top 6 all continue their current form to the rest of the season then they'll have the following points: Leicester 110 Ipswich 104 Leeds 97 Saints 96 WBA 94 Hull 89 Won't happen obviously
  10. He dropped him for several games
  11. That's exactly what we need! Someone to find a yard in the box, get on the end of a cross and score a tap in
  12. No doubting his finishing but he's not a big presence up front. We need Ross fit and firing. Martin hasn't been given the tools that Adkins was
  13. No i can't say it was convincing, but:
  14. Martin is still waiting for his quality finisher to be fit. We're painfully lacking a big presence up front
  15. We're unbeaten in nine games, we've dropped six points from the last 27, is it really realistic to think we ought to be doing better? If our form drops then sure, we can start aking questions again, but it's a bit premature based on one draw with Huddersfield
  16. Worth saying that last season Burnley lost to QPR and drew with Birmingham, Stoke, Blackpool (twice), Cardiff and Hull. You can't always just pick off the lesser teams
  17. I think he said Sulemana got taken off because he didn't do what was asked of him at half time
  18. I agree
  19. And would be calling him soft if he didn't call out the players for their poor 2nd half peformance
  20. I do have a worry that he will never fulfill his potential. But we've got to stick with him in case he does. And it's only really his final ball that's the issue, he's beating his man regularly (I wasn't able to watch the Huddersfield game)
  21. Tella is at his peak ability, whereas Sulemana could develop into a top player and be worth much more than anyone was willing to pay last summer. We definitely sold the right one
  22. It's hard for the fans but honestly it's best that Burnley spend their resources sensibly rather than splurging £20m on Tella
  23. We have another 20+ games to go this season that are more likely to be like the last 10 than the first 7. So the league table should look increasingly better for us. That may still mean playoffs of course
  24. Yeah i don't think we're the finished article but it seems silly to take stats over a 17 game timeframe when we're clearly a better team now than in the first part of the season
