We have a lot to thank Leon Crouch for. He has (like Wilde) put his own money at risk by purchasing shares in Saints. He was maybe too loyal to Burley (Lowe's appointment) and was too decent in being prepared to back the inhouse Dodd and Gorman. Pearson was a brilliant appointment. I hope that he is putting together a rescue consortium should we be relegated. At that stage the shares (including his own) will be worthless and the bank will be looking to see if anyone is willing to take on the debts in return for ownership of the Club that I would call a "Saints 2009". He will need 1. An able CEO. 2. A new deal with Saints Trust mk2 3. A solid team Manager 4. A credible group of former Saints players. Channon etc. I suggest he looks at some kind of long term purchase of STs over a 5 year period which also carry a value in shares in a "Saints 2009". We need a Club part owned by supporters committed to STs.

Reading the above posts that Lowe hands JP a list of players to pick from leaves me dumbfounded. Can anyone tell us what other Clubs in the Championship are run in this way by their Chairman? Also we do not put out the best team from our squad, we put out the team that will cost the least in match day appearance money. That chimes with the reason Stern John left, his appearance money was too high to meet Lowe's game day limit. Meanwhile in the real world 5,000 supporters stay away because of the poor team/Lowe and cost £250k a home game. Madness.

Good post cambsaint. I note that no one has disagreed with you. We knew we had financial problems, but to remove Nigel Pearson was just a plain stupid move by Lowe. It was another one of Lowe's "bright ideas". All those "bright ideas" have brought us down. To get more supporters to attend matches would require a Chairman who treated them with respect (as Graffito writes). Removing Nigel Pearson looks like it will be a contributing factor to the demise of this Club. Just as removing Paul Sturrock on flimsy grounds partly contributed to our relegation.

So that is the problem. Portaloo is used to training teams for far fewer games than we play as the Dutch league has less games, so his training schedule does not suit the Championship. Maybe the solution is to rotate in the reserves for all away games and just play a first team for home games so the young lads legs can last 90 minutes?

Portaloo sounded like a dead man walking. If he loses the next one he will be gone. Trouble is that Lowelife who has the worst record in picking Manager/coaches will be making that decision. (Fact based on the number of Managers Lowe went through that was worse than any other Chairman of any League club.)

That is what scooby said about Pearson. After 13 games Portaloo has lost 7 games, 4 more than Pearson did in 14 games. Pearson also won the same number 3, but he did draw 7 whereas portaloo has drawn 3. Portaloo has a worse record than Pearson. Pearson took over a demoralised team in free fall and managed to eke out enough results. Portaloo took over before the season, decided what players he wanted to retain and had weeks to get the team ready before the season started.

If there is a single big boycott for Tuesday and the attendance is under 10,000 it might force Lowe out. The Saints Trust and Nick Illingsworth keep spouting this "ignore Lowe and support the team mantra". But the reason the team is so poor is nothing to do with the lack of support today. We had more people there than most clubs send to SMS. We still lost badly. A change has to be forced and the Lowe led group of main shareholders have to face up to the mistake they made in putting Lowe back in. They know that they are staring at their shares becoming worthless if this continues.

What I wish he would say. "I realise I am not good enough and have stepped aside for George Graham."

Lowe is harming the brand image of Saints just like Ratner did to his own Company. The one difference is that if Lowe left the brand image would improve and some of the lost supporters would return and support at the game would be more united behind the team.

Total Football? Another Lowelife experiment ends in disaster with us facing; Relegation, Administration and the possible Demise of the Club. But then according to Lowe's dwindling group of backers on here, it is the fault of "fickle" supporters and has nothing to do with the poor choice of Coaches/Managers that Lowe makes. Almost one third of the season gone and we are third from bottom.

How can anyone defend Lowe and his shocking record of appointments. As the Chairman his single biggest task to get right is the appointment of the team manager/coach. Lowe manages to get this wrong 8 times out of every 10. That is the record of a failed Chairman. He replaces Pearson a manager who kept us up against the odds, with an untried foreigner as an experiment! How dumb is that? Pearson is doing very well at another club, meanwhile we are back in a relegation fight. Lowe may well drag us down into another relegation and administration. We will lose a club, he and the fools who back him will lose all their shares.

Average this season = 15,757 Average last season = 21,253 Difference = 5,496 fewer supporters per match. Would they all suddenly comeback? Not straight away, but given Leadership that can be trusted by the supporters, most of these missing 5,000 would. The fact is that Lowe's backers knew he would hurt attendances. Yet they clearly thought that it would not be as much as 5,000. Over a season that 5,000 = £3m.

We have a Club led by people that most supporters detest. We then have people surprised that we have the worst attendance % in the CCC. These people would be surprised to learn that the Pope is a Catholic. Rupert Lowe = 5,000 fewer supporters a game. A simple equation that he and the rest of the share holding idiots that support him need to learn fast.

We went into the season short of defensive players. So no surprise from me to find we are scraping the bottom of the League. Our only League win was against a demoralised Derby. We ship a lot of goals at set pieces, so why is our preparation so poor? Did we do no training for the past two weeks to get the defence right or were all our players away on internationals? No. Davis fails to command and organise his area today, well no surprise there he has failed to do that on may previous occasions.

The biggest concern before the season started was that our team was too light wieght and lacked height. That remains our biggest concern. Where is the hard man in midfield who can break up attacks and impose himself? I pray that Jan can inspire Wayne Thomas to be the dominating CB he used to be.
