That Murray fella is going on like a little girl, it's childish and tiresome, and for that reason, I won't be buying the Echo.
-
I think it will be twinned with another game after Season ticket holders have got their ticket. For example will be database only and you will have to buy a ticket for the next home game as well. That's about the fairest way it can be done logistically.

When did you sell 60,000 for an FA Cup Final? Your allocation of about 35,000 reached unrestricted general sale and you didn't even sell out the Semi or Charity Shield! Why can't you just doff your hat and admit that you are a very poorly supported Premiership club in terms of numbers. You might make lots of noise, but that will dissapear once you finally get to a new stadium as well. You are the Wigan of the South. We do have impressive attendances... but then again, what is impressive? I don't feel that Man Utd have impressive attendances, or Arsenal, or Leeds, or Norwich... they just have more people who actively support them and turn up for games. The reason people keep bringing up attendances is that Pompey fans on here will not admit that Southampton's fanbase is quite considerably larger than Pompeys, it's not impressive, it's a fact, and one that Saints fans feel they need to remind Pompey fans of quite often. As for giving tickets away.... my old man is an Exec at a very large Portsmouth company who also do some sponsorship etc there... they have been given 50 pairs of tickets for your FA Cup game and had 25 pairs last night... seems like you are getting a free for all. Say what you like about us giving away tickets... out Season ticket holder base is not that much less than the amount of Pompey fans who were at Fratton yesterday... so it doesn't effect our attendances much.

Bottom of the league. Dodgy Chairman in court. Dodgy ex-manager. Russian Crook leaving you in the sh!t. Dodgy Arab leaving you in the sh!t. Another Dodgy Arab leaving you in the sh!t. A dictators son trying to buy you. You attendances. Your pathetic protests. Imminent Administration. Not paying you players on time. .... I could go on and on and on but there are just a few things we can shout about.

The 'it's not the end of the world' thread
StuRomseySaint replied to SO16_Saint's topic in The Saints
Dont give a toss about the league... we were never going to get to the playoffs anyway. Its all about JPT and Pompey this year, win both of them then it would have been a great season for me. -
2,400 West Ham fans at Fratton... which means a massive 15,500 skates in attendance for their massive 6 pointer.
-
1800 Saints fans there. Good show.
-
He is making it up. SFC have heard nothing about kick-off times as of yet.

http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Transfer-Embargo-Lifted-541.aspx On their OS. Note they say they are not going to be spending any cash.
-
I seriously think that UEFA / FIFA are going to intervene soon and ask what the f*ck is going on... things just don't add up.
-
Most pubs will be shut I would imagine, including all City Centre pubs... only ones off the beaten track will be open.

Absolute disgrace... and I am not saying that because it is P*mpey. How can any football club be allowed to buy players when they can't even afford to pay their staff, let alone creditors. I suppose the one good thing is that no football club in their right mind is going to sell a player to them for anything other than cash up front or a loan. The Premier League have f*cked this one up completely. If they don't pay the players and staff on time again on Friday, yet manage to rustle up some transfer fees then The FA and UEFA/FIFA need to have a long hard look at what the PL are up to.
-
If I get a second ticket, it is going to a bird who I know, she has only been to 1 game in her life, but she's fit... so that's my reasoning.
-
No club which is not paying it's bills to creditors should be allowed to deall in transfers unless they are selling, simple as that. Will be a f*cking disgrace if they are allowed to buy players instead of paying their bills to the dozens of local businesses.
-
I really cannot understand why the embargo would be lifted full stop. The players have not been paid on time 3 out of the last 4 months, clubs are not getting paid and creditors queueing up... why on earth would the Premier League allow Portsmouth to go and spend money on players when creditors are queuing up to be paid. It will be an absolute disgrace if they lift the embargo, and I am not just saying it because it is Portsmouth, but there are local businesses, SME's etc who are desperate for the money Pompey own them and in the meantime Pompey will be allowed to go and splash out cash on players? Having said that, I can't imagine any club in their right mind who would sell Pompey a player for anything other than 100% cash up front.
-
Maybe, but Pompey are not going to be a Premiership club for long... then you have yet more costs.
-
I did find it on Google, very slow work at day today but I can't find the link again! The problem is with these Arabs, is that their fortune is always anyones guess, as you have found out with your last 2 jokers. If I was a Pompey fan I would honestly honestly rather we start again than have yet another arab running us. As for McManus... he made his fortunes making good business decisions... buying Portsmouth is financial suicide, as I am sure even you would admit, I just can't see it.
-
It's my understanding that they can drop into administration anytime between now and the 10th. Seriously though, unless they get someone with more money than sense ( contrary to what the skates think, he is not worth a massive about, certainly less than a billion ) who is willing to lose £100million just to clear their debts, then at least another £100million to secure them as a Premiership club, then another £100million if they want to achieve anything. Now that is almost half of Gaddafi's reported fortune... so why on earth would he waste it on Pompey, and why would anyone else for that matter... regardless of it being Pompey, why would anyone invest their money in that? For less money I could buy so many other clubs with so much more structure, assets and facilities, with a larger fanbase. Unless they are a mega-rich Pompey fan, there is just no attraction in buying Portsmouth, none at all.
-
He played 2 games for 3 different clubs in 5 years, something a bit dodgy about that?
-
I would happily go to Sweden, I just hope there is a foreign pre-season tour of some sorts for Saints fans to make a holiday out of.
-
I don't doubt he may be interested, but if he is I would say it will be after the administration plug has been pulled. Having said that, if I was a P*mpey fan I would do everything in my power to stop yet another dodgy foreign crook taking over my club.
-
What would your reaction be? Mine would be "hello AFC Southampton" or "hello Eastleigh"
-
Has anyone heard any rumours about where it might be this year? A bit premature I know, but I want to get my holiday for the year booked up, if it's anywhere decent I will do the tour. I am thinking / hoping that it will be Italy, with Cortese's contacts.
-
Magnier was part of the Irish consortium who wanted to buy Saints, along with McManus and some other horsey bloke, as well as Andrew Lloyd Webber... these were the 4 that originally Matt Le Tiss was heading... before they all backed out. That's probably where that story come from. But unfortunately for you, you have absolutely massive massive overheads and it is almost impossible to ever run a profit with your stadium etc. Just to repeat again... nobody in their right mind is going to plump £90 million into a club which they could buy for a fraction of that in a few weeks. Pompey are almost certainly getting relegated so it would be in everyones best interests if they waited for that to happen.
-
Seriously mate, would you want that bloke running your football club? Firstly, it's another Johny Foreigner who is worth a 'secret' amount of cash, secondly he is the son of one on the dodgiest dictators in the world. And thirdly... let's be realistic, Portsmouth has absolutely no attraction to any investor, no decent stadium, a limited fanbase, no training facilities, average players on massive wages and lastly... bottom of the Premier League and to be honest, do not look like moving from there in a hurry. I could name you 10 other clubs which would be more attractive to invest in than Portsmouth.
