  1. It doesn't help him get starts, but I'd guess they still want to have a couple of strikers. I doubt they will sell him this summer.
  2. Are Larios and Edozie being signed as long term prospects, ie they will play for the U21/23s (not sure what the reserves are called these days) rather than going straight onto our bench? I have little footage to go on, but what I have seen doesn't suggest they are first team ready. Nothing wrong with us doing that by the way, just asking.
  3. they were liked to Loic Bade who we thought (earlier this morning) we were signing .
  4. Fair enough, but it is a football business not a club, at some point the board may want to some business to prevent them going bust. No fan ever wants to sell a player, unless they are shite, which if the case tends to mean you get fuck all for them, so doesn't achieve what you want - bring money in to spend on quality.
  5. Barclay to Fulham would make sense geographically. He also seems like a player Rangers might go for. No sure he fits any of our criteria, except maybe `quality', which is pretty important. Doesn't feel #Saintsy.
  6. SSN strike me as being slow to the news instead of at the front. Would that be fair?
  7. Good point. I can believe it. Players that sign for Man U for £30m or whatever, don't get paid peanuts. £100k a week no problem. If they move, they tend to still get a fortune. Leeds paid even more for him than Man U did, so no reason why he'd get a wage reduction. Possibly got a rise.
  8. I was referring to Crook and if this fella was on the radio (I thought that was implied) doing the same thing, then him also. If he wasn't , then I'm just talking about Crook.
  9. why are they loaning James out? Seems a strange move. I'm not a big fan, he's super fast, but end product is often limited...but don't they need a squad player like him?
  10. felt like that train had sailed when we said no in January and they then spent on Botmann earlier in this window, but if he still hasn't signed a new deal, the club may feel now is the time to sell, maybe. Would cover our expenditure, which we need to do at some point in the next year or two.
  11. Let journalists do all the hard work unearthing and writing transfer stories, find them on twitter/Google search, then, effectively regurgitate what they have written, passing the `news' off as your own. Become known as an expert on a `club'. Stealing a living. But then again, if someone is willing to pay for those words, fair enough.
  12. sounds like it to me. Or is Sangerre going?
  13. two out, two in. Simeu out on loan again and Valery off. Starting to get the right kind of number of CB as we had far too many.
  14. Simply not trusted/rated at RB by Ralph.
  15. the two new City fellas that we may sign today look the opposite, in terms of strength and size, one small and one thin, but hopefully they can really play.
  16. Looks the same player to me. Busy, some nice dribbles... It was a nice goal against Chelsea, decent first touch and finish, all be it with a deflection, but there were other things, like when he tried to curl one into the top corner but ended up scuffing/under hitting it right down the middle, that were similar to what he was doing last year. I don't see a `way better' player. To be honest, I thought he was written off too early last year and there was always hope he might regain his confidence in the summer and do something this season. Maybe we need to judge him over a longer period (this season) though. He was flying when scoring against Everton and Villa and getting a pen at Newcastle too...but it didn't last. Still plenty to prove.
  17. He has been shopped around by his agent for £8m all summer. Surprised to see this £12m-15m figure suddenly appear. It's impossible to know what is accurate these days.
  18. Arsenal ain't letting him go. They need cover for Jesus. He's next man up.
  19. Likewise. In the WBA game against us two seasons ago he ran the show. Great first touch and seemed to be everywhere. Nice passing and ability on the ball. But that's the only game I've watched him closely really.
  20. the difference on Tuesday to a lot of last season was how much quicker the central midfield seemed, enabling them to get tighter and make tackles and interceptions. We needed much more intensity in that area - with `Kalvin Phillips type hussling' of opponents. JWP and Romeu just didn't offer enough of that often enough last season. I wonder if AMN will provide more of that.
  21. Someone wanted Ori. If no one wants Redmond and Walcott, what can you do?
  22. paves the way for AMN signing announcement. First the bad news, ow the good news.
  23. In the end, I think we both agree, we could do with bringing Broja back. 😉
  24. those two clubs have been linked with him for two years too. Might well just be regurgitated links. Who knows.
  25. I'm gonna have to go back to his youtube video. I seem to recall when we discussed him two years ago he was a monster. Not super quick, but a proper powerful defender. From what I have read he hasn't performed well over the last two years, which is a concern, but not seen him so don't know how accurate that is.
