Can't imagine Ralph would be happy to just have 3 players in that position, but that's all he had last year mind you, so with Lavia here, perhaps its not a big an issue for him. However, Stu was seen as suitable to play there too, but not sure Ralph still feels the same now.

I'd of thought us being able to secure his replacement/CM cover will also be a factor. AMN deal perhaps or maybe we are looking at some else like Sander Berge. He'd add yet more size/power, which we seem to have added in spades this summer.
-
From what I have read, he hasn't been terribly good for Marseilles the last two seasons, hence no one coming in for him. His agent certainly knows how to get his name linked with Prem sides though. Perhaps we recruit him for our PR department?

Telegraph reported this morning that we'd made a £21.4m bid (which seems very specific) but PSV want £38m... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/08/29/southamptons-214m-cody-gapko-bid-rejected-psv/ Big old gap between those valuations.

McCarthy ain't gong to man united after all then... Martin Dubravka: Manchester United close to signing Newcastle keeper https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62718124

Is that another of Crook's suggestions?
-
he looks a pretty decent striker, but I'm guessing we want a Broja type - a guy with pace and ability to make something happen out of nothing. We'll see I suppose.

AMN feels more like a Bournemouth signing to me.
-
might concede more goals this time around, but can't be any worse. Hopefully we will upset their rhythm a bit and maybe get in front.
-
accepted by who, the same fuckwits that suggest we do it? Just because West Ham are linked to every other player in the press doesn't mean they actually are. Their management will also be working their socks off to get transfers over the line. They don't have time to spend making `fake' bids to keep the fans happy.
-
maybe young, perhaps with very few senior games, but with apparent skills/attributes coming out their ears. `Quality' over `experience' every single time.
-
You think the management wastes its tine making low ball bids that will never ben accepted so as to look busy. Utter drivel. We may underestimate how much a club wants for a player, be outbid or simply turned down, but the idea we fake bids to appease supporters seems like fantasy to me.

They effectively had five or six first team players at the start of the window. Bought the rest of the side and competition. Exactly what you want as a fan. We had fans crying about how shit Fox et al were and couldn't wait for them to be replaced. Forest haven't waited.

If Bednarek goes, are we definitely going to bring another cb in? We have a lot of bodies.
-
28 total, and four u21s, but a few of that squad are likely departures like Arta and Taylor.
-
Every game at the city ground this season is effectively sold out, so you might be right.
-
Under Gao, Brereton would feel like our kind of signing, but not so sure under the current regime. We seem to have targeted a different type, higher quality but younger and thus more risk, but cheaper.

There's some great stuff in there, but I'm not totally blown away. Doesn't have the unbelievable skills of Anthony. He is a tall fella though, with a few nice headed goals. Im not sure I'd be spending £30m+ on him.
-
I think it's fair to say the guys we have gone for, Delap and Broja, were at least realistic. Not so sure about Ramos, but who knows if that was ever genuine. I don't want us going for players that no one else wants. You can't really expect the eventual signing to be supported with the club management's words "he was about six or seventh on our list, but we are very happy to have him here. He may not do as well as our first choice would, but we will never know."

remind me, is Ornstein on the money usully?
-
I am wondering if United were ever interested and the noise was just to flush out Ajax regarding Anthony.
-
Great stuff from AA.

I've no idea what is handball these days.
-
couple of nice opportunities for us in their final third, but jus lacked the quality to take advantage. We're still in this game.

Blast. Djenepo ball watches, someone in midfield, possibly JWP, doesn't track his runner.
