Long has fallen over his own feet a couple of times now when receiving the ball.

I've always been willing to give Stephens the benefit of the doubt. He's not a first choice, but not bad reserve. This season, whenever I've seen him he's looked slow and far too casual. The game looks too quick for him. Not sure we have better options mind.

bit worried lightening won't strike twice, cos we will need a little bit of luck to beat them. Palace certainly seem to set up right, but even if you do, you could easily lose two or three nil. What Palace have done well in the past is break incredibly quickly and finish in style. That is where City (and all teams I guess) are vulnerable. I still think we'll win.

I don't find watching players cheat, feign injury and roll around like they have been shot all that entertaining. Spent half the game shouting at Richarlison to fuck off. Such a fucking pathetic...

Got to say that the red card is just the sort of tackle that, although probably isn't a red under the current rules (maybe it could be classified as reckless), really ought to be. He has zero intention of going for the ball, so basically is trying to kick the player and achieved it. Totally understand the reason for the foul, but its still a filthy tackle. Hate seeing players go clean past an opponent, a break is on and then the player is just hacked. OK, so it's the same end result as being pulled back, just a cynical, but there's the physical violence to it too. Maybe their is no intent to hurt, but there is intent to make contact and take his legs from under him. Even though it probably wasn't a red, I felt he deserved one.

How did we ever lose to Newcastle? They are so average. A big man up front and a big man at the back and that's it. They're basically Burnley.
-
The wording suggests that unlike the other games mentioned, tickets probably hadn't ever been on sale for Saints(a), so only away ST holders will have tickets. I wonder how many that amounts to?

Burnley and Brighton games re-arranged in April

most Sundays on that route there is a bus replacement service at some point. Takes flippin ages. Bloody nightmare. -
worry about next season in the summer. AA will have plenty of opportunities both in training and preseason to get back in the groove.

It's changed a little and maybe a little is a lot when it comes to a side like us. Never understood while Livramento was brought back. We had been flying with Perraud and KWP. It's taken us a long time to find the right formula, but Ralph didnt stick with it.
-
🤔 Probably because Livrameto is a right back.

Not terribly Saintly to call you own players names. No need for it.

No he didnt have a chance. So what? I'd argue he was a handful, almost getting in a couple of times. But he was handled very well, they both came to nothing. My pojnt still stands. Why single him out? Actually, don't bother answering. I know the answer already (as stated it in my previous post).

don't recall us getting between their lines once. A lack of space is a massive problem. Faster attacks sounds like the solution, but that in itself isn't easy. The very best teams can struggle to break teams sitting deep down. We ain't the very best. Not sure of the solution, but we certainly need to think it through.
-
Our record against the teams around (us 2 above and below) ain't bad: we won and lost against Villa We won and drew against Spurs Drew against Palace Drew against Leicester There are ten teams below us at the moment. That's quite a lot. We are bound to lose to some of them.

That is cynical. He's just been injured. Give him the benefit of the doubt. I am amazed by football fans' ability to read body language.
-
I don't always agree with your takes, but you make a god point. We ain't got enough quality/skill to break teams down that sit deep, so faster attacks (with longer direct balls) seems the only alternative.

Broja came on, was a handful, all be it unsuccessful, got injured and came off, yet you picked him out specifically for criticism. Why? I will tell you why. Because you have spent the last few days on here telling people that Che is the better player, so you thought you'd back up your argument by pointing out what Broja did or didn't do.
-
That's your take away from this game - that Broja was useless. Blimey. Try watching each game without your preconceptions blinkering what you see.
-
This. We don't have enough top class players to get us out of jail when things don't go right.
-
Not a waste at all. If we don't do that and win games, we go down.

Someone told me Smallbone was a genuine talent, but every time he plays I fail to see it. We always look weaker and more open. We don't create more. I don't see this amazing talent shining yet. Good that he is getting chances, but I don't see the team benefitting from it at this point.
