How big is our debt these days? Might explain the relatively low asking price (in addition to Gao's desire to sell).
-
so Stephens (and McCarthy) haven't signed new contracts as reported earlier in the year by The Athletic then? What's going on there. Very strange.
-
not sure MLG provides player attribute figures for Real Valladolid.
-
Bentley or Johnstone?
-
Daniel Bentely (Bristol City) was linked yesterday, via a twitter rumour, but there didn't seem much to it. With Forster fit and Cabellero providing `ample' cover, assuming they get the contract extension sorted, I doubt we will sign a keeper in January. That's unless there is some sort of early run on Johnstone (and assuming we are actually interested).

I know there is a lot of luck involved, but perhaps teams with lots of injuries should not be rewarded with the opportunity to postpone. It's maybe up to teams to sign younger players, players that aren't injury prone and then maximise their fitness and manage game time etc. The best form of ability is availability. Obviously illness, COVID-19 and the connected protocols are a different matter, but shouldn't this be viewed separately from injuries? If one team has 10 players out with injuries and one with COVID, should that be seen as the same as a team with say 2 injuries and 9 with COVID?

I was wondering what the criteria was relating to u23 players and why they could not just fill the gaps left by senior pros. Give a young player a few minutes from the bench and they effectively become experienced, expanding your squad size and potentially removing the option of calling a game off.

How is it my blind whataboutery, when it was you that said `we did it differently against United'. We didn't. We had no choice but to play. Why do you think we would not take advantage of the new rule if we were struggling to field 13?
-
the rules have changed since then though haven't they? Pretty sure if we were struggling we'd use the rues to our advantage now.
-
Pearson dropped him (team captain) for the first time to the bench for the last game and explained it as `tactical, rather than injury based'. Only two teams have conceded more goals than Bristol City (37 goals in 24 games) in the Championship. They conceded two more without him though. He's half way through a four year contract, so unlikely to be a contract issue. Was their player of the season in 20/21.

wow. Forster getting praised on here for making touch now. The dislike of McCarthy has reached new heights.

Nice balanced post. For all Long's failings, its hard not to appreciate his effort. Perfect game and scenario for him.

good man/woman. I find that if the expectation is you will be at the football every week, there isn't a problem, it's when you suddenly want to go to football instead of seeing the inlaws that you get it in the neck. Let's hope you continue to bring us good luck. Wolves look very solid indeed these days. A point would be decent.

get this man a home and away season ticket

it's interesting that down to ten men, attacking players like Redmond seemed more than happy, and capable, of tucking into defensive positions. Redmond played left back really when he came on. Perhaps we need to see a little more that when we have 11 on the pitch and trying to hold on to a lead or a draw. A bit more digging in. Maybe it's a case of swallowing our pride a fraction and parking the bus a bit more. That said, if Spurs had scored (the offside goal/Forster's fuck up) all the digging in we did would have been forgotten. And perhaps previous games, where we have also dug in, but the luck has not gone our way have also been forgotten?

Liverpool keeper, widely regarded as one of the best in the world, beaten near post. That's punishable by death on here. Come on Leicester.
-
that's one hell of an endorsement for Perraud.

I think you'll find there's a lot on here that felt KWP should be starting games ahead of Tino. KWP has been outstanding for two seasons in both attack and defence. Tino has looked equally good going forward, but defensively he has a lot to learn.
-
No, I meant that, on what I have seen so far, he looks like a championship player and no more than that. But I'm not daft enough to write him off completely. Plenty of players, especially from oversees, need a season to find their feet. Leeds signed Firpo in the summer and he hasn't done much either.
-
if he comes good and starts to tear up the league next season, you won't find a happier person than me. I want to see us with four quality fullbacks that the big sides all want to sign.
-
Thought KWP had a great second half. He'd be my MOTM. Thought everyone put in an excellent shift. It was a good team performance. We hung in there, forced them to cross a lot of balls in that we dealt with well.
-
Yes you are right. I guess it interrupts the flow of things, but fresh legs for last ten minutes makes much more sense to me.
-
in contrast, there was a nice move in the second half down the left and he turned in one of the worst crosses I've seen in a long while when we had players in the box. A right footer kicking with his swinger would have done better.
-
Good that Romeu is fit to go. I'd of sacrificed the time wasting sub for some fresh legs earlier.
