Sometimes you pay a percentage of the players wages, and sometimes you pay all the wages. Sometimes you pay all the wages and a fee to the loaning on top. No matter which it is, I think the club loaning in don't actually pay the player his wages directly. The cost of the loan (wages and any additional loan fee, if there is one) will see money move from one club directly to the other (possibly in chunks/monthly). The owning club will be the ones actually paying the player his wages directly - that responsibility doesn't change to the loaning club. So, no matter what shape the loan takes, you could say the total payment between the clubs is a `loan fee', even if there isn't an actual fee on top of the agreed percentage of wages being paid. Having said all that, I always wonder how it works if the club loaning a player in wants to discipline that player in terms of say a week's wages? How do they do that if they don't pay the players wages directly to him? Maybe I have got it all wrong.

Quite like that one, except for the stacked badges, which look shite IMO.

I think you are getting ahead of yourself Alex.

Sara is a player we should consider signing. If RM is still unsure about Charles, he could possibly go the other way as part of a deal.
-
In general, the largest transfer fee they pay for a player is about €4m, but they did spend €9.5m a few years back.
-
Lots of talk online of saints previously wanting €9m but a €7m fee being 'agreed'.
-
I'd of thought Arsenal would want all of his wages paid and a loan fee. Whether they'd get it is a different matter.
-
he'll be in great demand next year then.

No, the away game. Total non entity. I didn't see the replay. Sounds like a missed a treat.
-
Oh dear. Sounds like the two clubs can't find a middle ground. Hopefully they are just calling our bluff.
-
I didn't believe that was the case, but bloody hell it would be great if it was. Very exciting few weeks ahead.
-
not a chance a £12m signing is earning £20k a week. He'd have the worst agent in the world if that was the case.
-
looked pretty poor in the Watford game if you ask me. I agree though a lot of potential.
-
where did you get that info from? Sounds in our range...and makes me wonder why we gave McCarthy a new deal.
-
then perhaps he should have signed a contract with one less year on it. Next year he can walk for free and we can done fuck all about it. This year it's up to the club if they want to price him out of the market or sell him at a lower amount.

I thought Kabore was the fullback that went out on loan to Marseille. Didn't realise he went to Luton too. He looked a very good prospect. How did he fair at Luton?
-
I don't see him as an attacking midfielder. He's not a defensive/deep lying midfielder either. He's just a central midfielder, that we need to get up and down the pitch. Got to agree with you though. I think he needs to be given a chance to show if the last two years and slight change of position has created a footballer able to hold his own in the top flight. Yes it's a dog eat dog world, but it's nice to gain some sort of affinity with members of the squad through them being here more than five minutes.
-
he was just a passenger the last time, but he's had two seasons in the championship since then. Also he has dropped back a little, as he played mostly in the attacking midfielder role when he came on as a sub in Prem games. So hopefully he will be able to hold his own. I think it's fair to say that there are doubts about every single one of our players in the Prem. Even KWP was shite in the season went down. Hopefully some/most of them can do a job as we can't replace them all this summer.

Sounds fine. But how long ago was his operation? Should he not be at the twisting and turning stage by now?
-
Clumsy. Don't like the sound of that. I didn't know he played off the left. We need a central striker, which is where he played for Forrest in his younger years.
-
Just saw some highlight is Lavia in a Chelsea shirt. Boy could we do with adding some of that kind of quality...throughout the side.
-
If I was him, I'd join Champions league Atalanta. We are going to have to offer more wages than them, so not overspending on the fee is probably a good idea.
-
I'd gladly take an upgrade in midfield, we need more bite, but Smallbone did have a good season and there was a lot of unjustified criticism. Isn't Lallana his direct 'upgrade'. Plays in same position and offers exactly the same attributes - passes the ball, can't tackle for toffee.
-
Preseasons must have changed a lot. I thought the idea was to up the fitness levels and the natural reaction to that extra work was tiredness? I guess they know what they are doing.

One of the most pathetic tacklers I have ever seen play in central midfield for Saints. An absolute pussy. Thankfully, no one ever gets the chance to make a tackle in the Prem, so it won't be noticed.
