  1. I have Virgin phone line and broadband. Not impressed at yet another price rise. I am considering moving, but are all the alternatives based on using a BT line. The reason I ask is my BT line was ****, offering woeful speeds. The Virgin fibre is decent.
  2. I am guessing Florin Rada is a pompey fan
  3. Not seen it again, should he have held it? Still, annoyed at Mane for giving the foul away. **** poor play by him.

Very quiet at the start. So much so I actually kind of wanted them to score so we'd get the decent atmosphere we did. For some strange reason I thought we'd easily have enough to come back and win to give the travelling faithful the kind of cup memory that lasts for years. We don't have enough. We are exactly the side I thought we'd be after losing Lallana' Rodriguez and Shaw
  5. Bad defeats are good for the soul. It's what makes football fans who they are. Suck it up and cherish the wins when they come along.

    Mane

Dare I say he should have buried it?
  7. What a load of ********. Some of us fans don't just want a day at Wembley, we want to see our side win trophies, a proper trophy, one that no one can ever take away from us. 20 odd continuous seasons in the top flight was great, but I'd swap them all for a title. The league cup is not a title, but one major trophy in our existence is poor and last night was an opportunity to go one step closer to making it two. If you don't want to see us win trophies why the **** are we playing the game? My tuppence worth about last night. Decent turn out, perhaps a little muted, but we had very little to shout about. Its up to players to get the crowd lifted as United did. It's got to the stage in my life where witnessing events is almost as important as seeing us win and I actually was not concerned about going behind. I foolishly thought that we would fight back and I'd be lucky enough to witness a great cup tie come back win. I couldn't be further from the truth. We melted. We folded. We lost our composure and we showed just exactly how frail we are with the current attacking players available to us. When you go a goal down you pass and pass an press and unlock them. Or you can do as we did and hood it allowing their tall centre back to have an easy night. Mane may have become a scapegoat, but last night he was woeful. That said I think saints fans that booed him off are stupid. We need him firing, who else is there? Bertrand was just as bad. A complete waste of space at left midfield. Why target was subbed instead of him I will never know. Long tried hard as always, but he is so limited its not true. The trouble is he was our biggest threat, which says it all. Isgrove fell over his feet, looked a little out of his depth and then disappeared. Boy do we miss Lallana. You will see that I have focused on our attack. That's where we are struggling. I thought midfield were solid and controlled the game right up until we needed them to after the goal. Morgan had a good game but Prowse has still some way to go before he's a top player. Wanyama played his usual game. Anything over ten yards and that possession turned over. At the back by and large we looked fine, except for Gardos. Now I know why Yoshida gets a game. I thought Fonte played well. Clyne was a disappointment. He gave fonte no angle for a pass on numerous occasions and went too narrow too. Forster made two good saves but he flapped for crosses and since Villa has lost all confidence when deciding when to come and when not. Normal service has resumed at SFC. It wasn't as bad as Oldham, Luton or tranmere, but these big midweek cup nights all leave a scar.
  8. Bloody annoying to face the top sides just as we have a injury crisis. That said Davis and Wanyama filled the middle brilliantly and Yoshida did a reasonable job too. The problem if the front positions. Mane has been woeful, Tadic hasn't done much in weeks and Long is just so frustrating. Nice to see Pelle get his goal, but boy was he **** before then and still miles off his best overall. Unless the attacking players improve quickly we are going struggle to win games.
  9. And one of theirs were offered to us. Meh. Agents wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't try to get their player a move to Manu. Doesn't mean the club were looking to offload.
  10. Tadic not doing enough in games for me. He needs to be running things for us to really tick
  11. When Geroud came on and the game changed as he dominated Yoshida. We didn't keep the ball as well as we had done and mane and Mayuka offered nothing. Very impressed by Toby in midfield. Yet again we fail to beat one of the big sides despite playing well. Got to,take our chances as these sides create plenty of their own.
  12. Cork not in squad due to illness
  13. Wonder if it was the promising youth set up that attracted him to **** park?
  14. No doubt this thread will come back to haunt people years later, but right here and now he isn't impressing me. Even before tonight he has looked nervous and he flaps. All keepers have a mistake in them, so tonight's howler is not something to,judge him by, besides Boruc made a few of those himself. What I want to see is a world class save or two, which Boruc offered, otherwise we may as well have stuck with Boruc.
  15. Funny old game, but they, villa that is, were as bad a side suffering from a lack of confidence as you will ever see at this level.
  16. That's how I feel. 90 minutes of frustration. Absolutely nothing went for Pelle. Long and Tadic did absolutely nothing. What was our game plan? Long does my head in. There is so much more in there if he just forced things a bit. Grrrrrrrr...calm down chez.
  17. Everyone is smashing Villa home and away, so this in the cold light if day is two point dropped in the tile race...yeah I know.
  18. The most Frustrating game of the season. Excellent to sneak a point, but so many under par performances. Forster still to convince me he is better than Boruc.
  19. "getting into the top four would be remarkable because, ...er we have been playing in the CL this season." what a ****ing muppet.
  20. Can they actually fall any lower from grace than this? Perhaps this is it, this is the lowest point...
  21. is Nugent any good. Every time he plays against us he seems a very good player and causes us all sorts of problems, but he never seems to be able to notch in the top flight against anyone else.
  22. I like how Markus' name has been attached (not in the literal sense) to the training centre rather than say a stand at the ground. Very fitting and makes perfect sense.
  23. That last point is very important. Last season our form dropped off a cliff when we lost Lovren to injury. This season Koeman is playing key players in the league cup, which I like, but that increases the risk of losing them to injury. Can we continue to win games if we lost Fonte for a month or Tadic or Pelle. We have replacements, but is the edge lost?
  24. You'd assume right. It's been amazing. Unbelievable maybe? I thought Schneiderlin had gone and there would be no turning back from that, but keeping him has made a big difference. Morgan is the premierships best kept secret for me. If I became manager of any of the big sides he would be my first signing. The Pelle signing was equally important. For all the nice football we play you still need a big strong fella up the front to be the focal point and he has been brilliant. Great first touch and now goals a plenty. I still think manure got Shaw for a bargain and I'm not 100% convinced yet by Long, Forster and Bertrand, but it's only been five minutes so it will be interesting to see them continue to improve. I do wonder how we will do against the to sides one after the other. But that said we gave them all, Chelsea apart, the run around at our place last season, so,why the hell not this? The big sides are put on a pedestal, but they are only human. Has a relegation favourite ever won the top flight before?
  25. Kicks it better and further than Boruc and doesn't fanny about with it. On the negative side he looks a little nervous and has flapped a little. The thing about Arthur was that he pulled off some absolute worldies. The flip side being some total **** ups. Not many mistakes mind, just a couple of high profile howlers. Yet to see Forster do that - draw dropping saves I mean. Age on his side and all that. Shame we don't have both...
