  1. I agree. The intent in the tackle and studs being up justified a red, but from what I could see on MOTD those studs didn't actually touch Cork, therefore there was no reason to roll around as if they had.
  2. if they get relegated will the media start referencing the two relegations with him as manager rather than the one survival? Maybe a bit unfair as he has taken on a sinking ship, but get fed up of hearing about harry houdini
  3. loan period ends shortly and West Ham are not renewing it. In the game at their place he was a total non entity. Based on that showing I don't want him anywhere near our first team. We can do much better for far less money.
  4. that's a funny thread ands well deserved. Cork's actions were embarrassing.
  5. Prutton's miss at WBA still lingers in the mind. if we go down again then Gazza's ****ups against Swansea and Norwich will be at the top of my list of memorable errors.
  6. what position does Marin play?
  7. Kenwyne against Jaidi would have been good to watch. Joe Jordan up against Michael Svensson also.
  8. the only way to keep players is to pay them more than they can get elsewhere.
  9. pretty sure there a good penalty claim for us when Puncheon's slipped pass was handled in the Stoke box.
  10. you've got a point, League 1 spending certainly was huge, but was last season's spending also a record? I didn't know that.
  11. all this is true. We needed to change our tactic from hoofing it down the channel (which worked brilliantly in the first half) to keeping it short and passing a lot more. Not easy to stop a side intent on hoofing it up to four or five huge lads. I don't think the subs would have made a difference. A modified tactic may have.
  12. So many times on here you have said the performance doesn't matter, it is just about the result. So unless you are saying there is no excuse for losing to Sunderland, which sounds to me you expect us to not lose any game, then are contradicting yourself. Which is it?
  13. I don't agree with this. Gazza continually made poor choices and wasn't all that accurate if you ask me. Davis' kicking is actually very good most of the time, not all the time. Gazza only played a few games and couldn't hack it. I don't care how accurate his kicking is, he bottled it.
  14. fair enough. I just don't want to see Gazza given another chance this season. I have no problem with Boruc if he is fit.
  15. talk me through the Swansea goal against us. Gazza ranks right up there with that clown keeper from MK Dons in terms distribution. Are you calling for Gazza's return ahead if Davis?
  16. With Fonte playing well, Puncheon playing well, Guly playing well and now Jos playing well we are running out of ****as to blame for not winning every single game. I'm fed up of defending players like those against the barrage of abuse on here. I know Davis is not the best keeper out there, but there are actually posts on the main thread blaming him for the third goal.
  17. in what way?
  18. while I am at it, Huth is lauded on here, yet if Jos had made the mistakes he made today (gifting us at least one goal) he would have been crucified on here.
  19. MOTD didn't show the Stoke handball in the first half when Puncheon's pass was blatantly cut out by a hand
  20. if you see it from behind it comes out of nowhere.
  21. yep Davis was shocking for the equaliser. Anyone could have saved that.
  22. I notice Ageuro took Bassong to pieces today for his goal. Plenty on here stating how we should have signed him and plenty of others calling for Jos to be hung drawn and quartered when another Man City did similar to him earlier in the season. I'm not saying Bassong isn't decent, I'm really not sure, but perhaps Jos wasn't as bad as some liked to think. The fact is we, like all teams will concede goals especially against the top sides and CBs and keepers will be in the firing line. It doesn't mean they are **** if goals go in. Teams concede goals.
  23. 2 on 1 against Shaw led directly to the goal. Guly or whoever went missing, so yes he was spot in to moan at someone in midfield for not doing their job. Not sure Jos could be blamed. Great finish.
  24. I'm not a big fan and will take some convincing after some very, very average displays IMO, but having said that he's certainly improved in the last few weeks, getting tighter and actually making his presence felt. He's been one of our better players in the last three or four games. I slated him for being far too passive, so that tends to have the right effect! Fonte has been equally good mind you and Jos was outstanding today having been thrown in at the deep end after a long period without a game. As I said, he can play at this level and just needed to find his feet. Maybe I should have listened to myself when considering Yoshida. I have to say that distribution selection is terrible at times, although often its the midfield failing to provide him with an option. I still feel that our two original centre backs were unfairly lambasted by fans early on when in fact it was fullbacks and midfield that left them exposed. We've tightened up as a unit and the CB's have had far less to do (today apart). Arsenal will pose a different threat completely than the likes of Fulham and Sunderland.
  25. it means enjoy it. Enjoy the competition, enjoy the difficulty, enjoy gaining every single point.
