That is terrible news. The players in that team feel like `my saints' if you know what I mean. I was 15 at the time and went to all the games and they all meant much more than they do now. Loved that side and the players in it including Mooro. That 89 side was perhaps the best Saints team I've seen and he played a big part of that. Monster headerer of the ball and hard as nails. Has any football had whiter legs than him? Not sure exactly how good a player he was. My memory is not great. Can anyone remind me. I recall he was not the most comfortable on the ball, but did the basics right. Decent in the air, perhaps not the quickest. Mean but quiet. A silent assisin perhaps? Love to hear a bit more from fans about the type of player he was. Very sad to hear. I am genuinely gutted and I don't ever get emotional about people I don't know.

Is it when we play teams with two monster centre backs that attack the ball that Ricky struggles? Sunderland, QPR and WBA at our place are three examples where the CBs were ball winners. I recall him doing **** all against Cardiff last season and they had two massive CBs. If you throw in a big fullback or two to prevent Ricky peeling off to the back post perhaps that is his nemesis.

his passsing was woeful as well. Several times they were in but he ****ed up the pass. Far from the complete player.
-
Love to see him back and played where he should be played on the right side of a 4-4-2. He's absolutely perfect for that role.
-
I'd like to add Loic Remy, Kone, Coutinho, Danny Rose and Steven Caulkner to my ever growing short list.

centre backs played out wide tend to get made to look like mugs. Out of interest does Targett have pace?
-
[longs goal] was down to Yoshida diving in and getting made to look a total mug by Lukaku. Fonte used to do that a lot in League 1 but got away with it. Who'd be a centre back these days? Are there 5 world class ones in the whole league?
-
it will be interesting to see if Bale can outpace Morgan. Not seen a quicker central midfielder this season. I actually think Morgan will be able to stay with him. What a great battle that can be so long as don't leave Morgan exposed.
-
I know we all think our wives are the best looking, but on this occasion ours really is. I don't see many central midfielders in the prem with his combination of strength, pace and ball control.
-
Lukaku showed tremendous pace to out run Clyne, but also had the power too. What a combination of facits! I thought Fellaini was equally impressive. Tremendous ball control for a big man and great strength. Far better player than I had him down for. We handled him well, but he still caused us massive problems. I think Hazard was the best player though. Amazing talent. Ran rings round us when he came on. My favourite player at the moment.
-
fullbacks without pace are always going to be under pressure. In this day and age I wouldn't sign a fullback unless he is quick.
-
that's Yoshida in most games for me.
-
I wonder how Gazza is rated by Poch. McCarthy at Reading worth looking at perhaps?
-
if we are looking at fullbacks then Danny Rose from Spurs would be a tremendous signing. Not sure how we'd get him though as I imagine Sunderland will do their best to get him. Sam Byron from Leeds is another we might look at, but not at the £10m being talked of in the papers.

The average skate maybe might be easily swayed by a dodgy sugar daddy, but I don't think those that have invested their £1000 will be so quick to grab the cash and its them that will ultimately have the vote on selling a percentage of the club. The key will be if they can balance the books. If they start to get into trouble that's when pressure might build.

He's had good and bad games. His decision to dive in yesterday led directly to the third goal. He might be more mobile, but he poor in the air. He's less clumsy, but a woeful passer. There is room for improvement. Hopefully he and all our players will continue to improve next season.
-
perfect for any professional footballer to go straight from pitch to golf course
-
why do you think that? He lacks pace, has no skills. doesn't get up and down, might even be described as lazy...
-
you can say the same of Yoshida. Players make mistakes. Forum posters, myself included often choose to highlight the ones from the players they don't rate. Clyne has made quite a few but because he is highly regarded these are not mentioned. Yiou have to question his marking for their second goal yesterday. You also have to question huis defending against Lukaka when Morgan saved us too. I've not seen anyone mention either. I don't think Jos is world beater, I have just always said he would do Ok if called upon and IMO by and large he has. You don't agree. We move on. What do you think of Yoshida?
-
Jos was poor yesterday, but he has been good in other games.

SAINTS 0-3 West Bromwich Albion // Post-Match Reaction
Chez replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
A horror show. It happens I suppose, but hopefully not too often. We are a newly promoted side, we can't expect to be world beaters all the time. We will need to strengthen though and this tyoe of game shows where. Anyone else worried we might still be dragged into the mix? was Cork injured, because if he wasn't it was the worst substitute decision this season. As soon as he went off we disintegrated, not that we were all that great in the first half. So many players were below par, from the keeper, the back four, midfield and through to the strikers. Offensively we were toothless. Lambert did nothing and Lallana just isn't doing enough. Without Shaw bombing down the line we struggle to open teams up. I heard on the radio as I was driving in that WBA had not beaten us at our place since the sixties or something. Whenever stats like that are dragged uo we always lose. Always. Boruc 5 - four throw outs, two went straight to the opposition. Small things, but sets the tone. Should have done better with the first. Clyne 7 - some questionable positioning for their second goal. not bad going forward. I actually think he plays better with Puncheon. Lallana just gets in the way. Jos 3 - made to look slow and poor like many on here have been saying. In the second half he didn't seem to know what sort of pass he should make. He's done well over the last few months but ill equipped to handle Lukaku. Yoshida 3 - what the **** was he doing for the third goal? Dived in like a schoolboy. Not good enough IMO. Our lack of height cost us for the first goal as well. We looked like we might concede from every corner. For me he only looks good when opponents play one up front. Play two and he loos exposed. Fox 2 - Davis may have given him a hospital pass, and he possibly wanted to show the fans he was fully comitted, but what a horrible tackle. Apart from that he had a poor game. Didn't get tight, didn't mark, and outpaced. Lakaku took him to pieces. Going forward he offered too many crap crosses. He doesn't overlap. Maybe he is told not to, if not its down to him being lazy. Cork 5 worked hard but they bypassed midfield so despite controlling that area of the pitch WBA still were the more effective side. When he went off we totally lost our way and rythm. Morgan 6- similar to Cork. Why is he collecting two yard pass from the two centre backs though. Let them do that and move into midfield to collect a pass. Davis 6 busy as usual, but I'm not sure he is good enough to play as part of a two man central midfield. Much better in that free role. Lallana 3 did nothing and shoukd have been subbed at half time for me. Lambert 3 also did nothing. When he comes up against towering centre backs and fullbacks he can struggle. Rodrigez 7 worked hard and did OK, but comoare our front three with theirs and ours looked poor. Ramirez deserved to go. Mayuka he looks like a bobbler to me. Lively but never got the ball under control. Fonte Good to see him back -
some guys at Hull University invented the LCD. They laugh now at not getting it patented.

Despite getting £11m of parachute payments in the next 12 months its not until 2017 before they complete the payments to the players/clubs.

when Champers says largest he actually means ****est.
