  1. how does Guly miss?
  2. Jerome 4 goals in 5 games against us. Bugga
  3. good command of the area by Davis there
  4. great ball by Puncheon. He's having another very good game
  5. get 1 back and...I just don't want to think about it. COYR
  6. Adkins prefers Yoshida right now, that doesn't mean Jos can't cut it in the Prem.
  7. and IMO they are wrong. Jos is good enough and written off far too early.
  8. players can do good and bad things in he same game. They are human. I'm also watching Jos have a decent game so far after almost every single poster on here wrote him off.
  9. Why is Shaw having to deal with a 2 on 1. Were are you Guly? Undoes the great work earlier.
  10. a massive **** you to all the Guly haters
  11. funnily enough it was the previously mentioned Jon Gittens that was Nicholl's last signing. I remember his first game back at the Dell marking Ian Rush completely out of the game. Not many did that around that time.
  12. signed from Scunny for £200,000
  13. Good memory. I forgot all about Mark Whitlock. Not entirely sure you can count Gittens as he didn't come through the ranks, nor was he a nipper when he joined. He was about 21 or 22 when we bought him from a non-league club side.
  14. Now we know why we need to screw every last penny out of fans, it's to pay Butterfield to be a fluffer Not a fan of Lee myself. He's a slightly better Barnard in my eyes.
  15. We'll get £3m for Sharp if McCleish fancies him. The rest, well I think we might have to pay some of their wages to get them out of here. Who on earth is going to pay Lee's £16k a week wage? Chaplow will be on a massive Championship wage too. Dickson is too expensive for League 1 suitors. I just looked at our squad list and I am still baffled as to why we offered Butterfield an extension to his deal. Absolutely mental.
  16. enlighten me. Perhaps we can do some sort of swap deal.
  17. unless we sell I'd of thought we won't bring many or anyone in. The £30m might be an exaggerated figure, but we still spent a wedge and the BVI loan tells us there isn't a never ending supply of funds available. We need to get some of these big earners off the wage bill like Sharp, Lee and Chaplow.
  18. Opinions opinions. Mine is that he has been outstanding for us for four or five years. He had a great season last year and was without question the best keeper in the division. He played a major part in our promotion.
  19. not sure, I always thought it meant outside the really big cities like London and Birmingham, but I think it might mean outside of the capitol city. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979_European_Cup_Final in the summary it describes then as a relatively small provincial club

Is he ? Your wife is the most beautiful syndrome going on there. He's slow, possibly the slowest non-big man striker I have ever seen, has a poor first touch, no where near good enough for the premiership and offers pretty much nothing in the build up. You carry him in games hoping for a chance to fall his way. Do we really have 10 other players good enough to enable us to have a goal hanger in the side? Maybe if we'd kept him he'd have 5 goals like Fondre, but maybe we'd be bottom of the league too. I was glad we let him go out on loan. For the record I don't rate Lee, Fonte or Barnard either. Rodriguez is still developing, but looks a better all round player to me. Who the hell knows what Mayuka can do.
  22. he was bound to score less goals, but he's still got more than Aguero, Holt, Jelavic and Berbatov and the same as Rooney and Tevez. He has been slightly less dominating up front as the defenders are simply better. His touch hasn't been spot on and having less space means he's given the ball away at times which hasn't happened in the lower leagues. However, for me he still looks effective and by far and away the best man to lead our attack. I actually agreed with Adkins decision not to start him against the very tall West Ham. I just wonder if he will go the same route against the equally tall Stoke.
  23. they have a wonderful history with a trophy haul that far exceeds our wildest dreams, but they are never have been a huge club. I think the term used to describe them is provincial and the fact a club of their size won those trophies was the amazing thing. Are we ourselves not a provincial club? With a brother in law as a fan I don't want to admit they are bigger, though I concede more successful.
  24. hardly OTT, it needs a post like "our play off hopes are hanging by a thread" before it could be described as that. The smell of fish on this thread is unbearable.
  25. we'll win. Ramirez will get it right and the whole world will see we've signed a star...hopefully.
