I didn't remember the snow, just Ward coming on and scoring at the death. Ok so the crowd might have been higher but we didn't set the world alight in terms of attendances that season as Corp Ho pointed out on the famous takeover thread: 30th Aug vs Blackpool – 15,629 17th Sep vs Ipswich – 14,916 20th Sep vs Barnsley – 14,836 30th Sep vs Norwich – 14,480 28th Oct vs Coventry – 14,226 8th Nov vs Bristol City – 14,535 6th Dec vs Sheff Weds – 15,440 17th Jan vs Doncaster – 15,837 3rd Feb vs Sheff Utd – 13,257 21st Feb vs Preston – 14,790 Their tickets are £30 quid as well, which is rediculous considering how poor they were last season and expectation for this. if you want a rod to beat them with let's keep our powder dry till the 18th when hopefully we'll have everything we need to take the mick. That's more than enough defence of the **** from me. Keep it real.

one ball, more pressure
-
as Vince pointed out just 13,257 of us turned up in that painful defeat to Sheffield United, so I am not exactly sure why we are crowing about their poor attendance last night. There are lots of fickle fans out there.
-
you're right about him being not very quick, but I don't agree with his positional sense being awry, I'd be interested to know why you think that. I think he has decent composure and he is a fantastic crosser of a ball. I thought he had a few excellent games last season and many very good games too. I don't recall a bad game really. Harding has been excellent for us over the two years. He bullies wingers like no fullback I have ever seen at SMS.
-
Current contract ends 2014. West Ham want to lose his wages and maybe just as importantly he wants to play in the Prem to secure his England place. He's 31, zero sell on value and no one has offered anywhere near what they initially wanted.
-
Agreed. It's not just his performances, him actually signing was a real turning point last season. Actually it was real highlight. I think I was happier when I read the news than after a Saints win. I dare say his signing has encouraged the likes of Morgan to sign a new deal to. Has that been announced officially yet BTW?
-
There are others on this board that will have a better idea than me, but there is no chance he'd sign a 5 year deal for 10k a week. If I had to bet on it, it would £25k a week.

I would suggest Premiership wages

Was there a (just) back from the match thread for Barnsley?

agree that we will need to mix it up. Very few teams, only Swansea really have got out of this league passing it on the deck only all game. -
we have lambert, Guly and Connelly all happy to drop deep to cllect. What we need most is a striker willing to run on, work the line and offer that little bit of class and pace to create a yard of space to spank one home.
-
tremendous. He's been doing it for years so it was a no brainer. City have signed something special there. And to think Chelsea didn't want to spend the money and spent £50m on Torres.
-
he looked sharp in those clips, but I have to say I was more impressed with Jutkiewicz from Saturday's football league clips. Not seen much of him before, but he looked very dangerous to me. More in our price range and we have a habit of taking advantage of others financial shortcomings. Mind you clips, what do they really tell you?
-
Iwelumo left last month so they needed one, but it certainly looks like one more might be moving

Patterson injured and also linked heavily with the skates.

tell him to consider it done.

despite about 75% going short, we still pinged a fair few balls up to Lambert. He won a lot of those. He also comes back for every defensive set piece. This extra height is not to be underestimated. If anything he needed a bit more pace alongside him not to replace him. -
he seems to have thrived on showing the manager he was wrong to leave him out for so long, so let's keep bugging him with this ditty and maybe he'll thrive on shoving it down our throats. I have to say "We'll sing what we want, we'll sign what we want, just keep scoring goals my son, we'll sing what we want."

Has Martin Thomas retired yet? You can possibly add Jamie Cureton as well, although he left to join Norwich at 16 -
agreed.
-
does headers not count, as he certainly had one of them on target on Saturday. Tremendous save from the keeper to keep it out.

sung three times at Barnsley
-
can't bear to listen to his interviews, but actions speak louder than words. Liked the appointment at the time and still like the appointment now. Anyone else find that h makes the exact same subs as you think he should abut 2 minutes after you thought he should make them. When a manager starts doing that you know you have a good un.
-
at the time I thought it was an obvious red, he clearly followed through when he could have pulled out and I was therefore dissappointed that the vast majority of Saints fans applauded him off. He was an idiot and very unprofessional.

I thought he was very good. He's had a great start to the season. -
M27 is fine these days, you won't have any problems at all unless it rains (always slows things down), but when you come off at Fareham it can be a nightmare sometimes. Personally just to be sure I'd come off at junction 9 head towards Fareham via Titchfield and then cut across to Stubbington and on to Gosport rather than going down Newgate lane. You'll make it in time and you won't get stuck at Fareham.
