  1. I like what you did there. First time I've written football club for a long time.
  2. He's not banking though, he running a football club.
  3. you are mistaken. There are far too many sheep on this forum only too willing to accept everything thrown at them by NC just because he spotted a good business opportunity for Marcus to invest in. Questioning things is exactly what the fanbase should be doing. Take a trip over to the Pompey takeover thread and see how many times Saints fans accuse the skates of negligence over questioning the large salaries they paid out. Asking about huge salaries, £7m losses last year orthe loans/debts we have is not nit picking. If the answers are there fair enough, but describing these people as a cancer to this club just because you are happy?
  4. Could not have put it better myself.
  5. bloody hope so, last summer he had that calf problem during preseason and it took him till xmas to refind his form.
  6. looks boring.
  7. poor spelling and a lack of care and attention when posting undoes me again. Blast. Oh well time to bow out quietly. I am probably wrong anyway. Cortese is probably the best and I should thank my lucky stars our paths crossed.
  8. spot on. Footballers no matter what their age are fully aware how fanatical we are about our football club and know full well that if they indicate they want to leave for something better then they become the `enemy' so to speak. If he leaves I don't wish him well. Once they go I don't give a **** about them. So whilst he is in this limbo period I struggle to back him in the same way as just as almost everyone on here struggles to back Puncheon. Booing him is a different thing altogether.
  9. fair point, but his annoyance at being priced out of a move might play on his mind. Personally I think he is absolute top notch and a (some would say) rediculous price tag of £10m is justified and we must hold out for it. I just don't think anyone is going to pay that, if they were they would have done it by now.
  10. As I said, as time goes by Cortese seems to be seen more and more as the saviour, yourself included. Apologies for incorrect spelling of Markus. Mate is spelt Marcus so hard to stop myself.
  11. has he ****. He has expressed an opinion that the majority, but not all on here disagree with.
  12. he wouldn't be giving interviews trying to put the club under pressure to sell if a move was imminent. Strikes me that no one can afford the gamble on him at the price we are charging. Will he still perform though if a move doesn't happen?
  13. I wouldn't. The skates need loans and he may well be available on one.

    Matty Taylor

if you were at Fratton and had to suffer close hand that **** giving the big one in Wayne bridge style then you'd understand the difficulty in accepting this is ever going to happen. Decent player though. We should have nipped in and signed him when Spurs pulled out instead of allowing the skates to sign him. Their most impressive player in their promotion season. Wages put him out of our league I'd of thought.
  15. as I said earlier in the thread people have forgot that it was Marcus' money that saved us and it's the Leibherrs loans that are bankrolling us.
  16. There's me thinking Marcus invested 25million and didn't take a salary. For the record I don't care that Cortese takes a sizeable wage, but it is double or even four times Lowe's wage.
  17. FFS I was being sarcastic. Marcus saved us.
  18. sorry The9, but you are not allowed to say anything negative about Cortese, ever. Everything he has and will do is correct. Given time, and for some that time seems to already have come, it will be Cortese that saved us and not Marcus.
  19. Really, such as who? By the way I recall that the accounts do not determine whether that £600,000 is for six months of wage or twelve.
  20. actually it's not. It's the Leibherr's company. Oh and while we are at it, it was Marcus' money that saved us not Cortese. He hasn't put a penny in.
  21. and 37 goals for Southend in 69 starts and 16 sub appearances. The Championship is a step up. If we create chances he'll take them. He'll continue to work hard. The only doubt is that lack of pace you might need to really hurt defenders and ensure you take advantage of any mistakes defenders might make. Time will tell, but there is certainly a nagging feeling for me that he just isn't quite dangerous enough (on the field).
  22. not so much massaging, more falsely reporting seeing as it actually 24 goals in 44 starts (71 games if you include sub appearances).
  23. the fact he hasn't signed one does not bode well at all. I am certain he will have been offered a deal last summer.
  24. very nicely done. Young boys on his...oh dear I don't like where this post is going.
  25. do 17 year old potential starts tend to get signed in the last minute of transfer windows? Somehow that doesn't feel quite right. If Arsenal is the only destination for him then Wenger tends to be so stubborn that he will offer £Xm two weeks before and if we don't accept that will be it for another year.
