  1. I was impressed with Gary Madine when Wednesday came to our place, but he seems to like playing with matches http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-13855527
  2. Give him a ball & a yard of space. He'll give you a move with godly grace. A man can't have no greater love. Than give 9O minutes to his friends. If God meant game to be played up there. He would've put goal posts in the air. I'm off for a pint of razza. Ta ta.
  3. with skate mates telling me Puncheon looks a good player (seen it wiv me own eys gov) I think you are spot on.
  4. Michiko I love you.
  5. course you have. Every decade has its good, bad and indifferent. The 2000's created some tremendous stuff and if we are just looking at guitar bands then current bands like Editors, Kings Of Leon, Kasabian, The Killers, Muse, Snow Patrol, White Stripes etc. shouldn't be underestimated, although that's not necessarily a recommendation. I have to say though that I'm not sure how its possible to argue about which music is better. Its so subjective there is no way of ranking it. I'm a Sultans of Ping fan myself. Check em out. Irish punk band from the 90's. If that's not to your liking (it's not to hardly anyone's liking) give Unkle or Death in Vegas a go or maybe James or Ride, truely fantastic.
  6. increases in wages could be covered by the increase in income from sponsorship, TV money and prize money rather than by putting ticket prices up. That's the sort thing a football club might do, a football business like ours though is never going to overlook that easy revenue stream. I wonder how AFC Wimbledon will do things. Actually how have Swansea done things seeing as they are 20% owned by the fans?
  7. latest news of his transfer or lack of it on here: http://www.football365.com/portsmouth/7032033/Cotterill-No-Puncheon-enquiry and originally here http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/no_blues_enquiry_for_southampton_man_1_2852870

    Ryan Doble

he got a one year extension to his contract in February, so he's contracted until June 2012.

nope. He's still standing around the centre circle using as little energy as possible. Never seen such a lazy player in all my days. I think he got a yellow card, but most likely for time wasting or diving.
  10. Leon Best was Brum's top target before McLeish left. With Hughton going there I'd of thought he'd be right on their radar again (unless of course Houghton didn't like him). The same could apply to all those players I guess. I'm surprised Routledge hasn't signed for QPR, but they appear to be not releasing funds to Warnock.
  11. I really don't recall him in the four games I've seen us play against them so can you tell me if he is better than N'Guessen or better than Holmes? As much detail as possible please.
  12. or what, they take money from your account? don't you just love those automatic opt in schemes? Out of interest how much is beer and if it in plastic glasses? Are there seats, TVs etc?
  13. blimey, I know the games about opinions, but I can't understand yours. He's average compared to who? Can I ask, have you played the game at a decent level? If so did you play at centre midfield? If not, have you any idea how competitive that area of the pitch is? It's not like any other position on the field. You have to be absolutely top notch to take the ball with your back to goal under genuine pressure like Morgan does. A poor touch here and Hernandez has tucked an equaliser under Bart. Lessor players don't put themselves in that position. They hide, or do what Wotton and Delap did, get it and quickly boot it over their shoulder. They never got caught in possession, but boy did they concede it. Morgan doesn't hide, he wants it all the time and when he does get it he keeps it...all the time. And as we all know possession is king. You have been watching Barca/Spain over the last four years right? What I see in Morgan is a player that can play in that tight area at the highest levels (the higher the level the less space and time there is). If he receives a **** pass with a man up his arse he has the first touch to make the pass look OK, the body strength to withstand the pressure of the opponent behind him, the skill to position the ball where the defender can't nick it from him and the ability to turn into space and lay it off (more often than not short, easy and square) turning a tough situation into something positive. It isn't easy, he makes it look easy. Put a lessor player in there and the ball may be lost and either that player or the passer looks bad. As I said the game is about opinions, but give him another look the next time he plays and look closely at how willing he is to take the ball anywhere and all the time, watch how he keeps the ball and compare him with others in that same position. He is not average. At league 1 level he was different class. At Championship level we'll need that ability. That's my opinion, for what it's worth.
  14. nice. Seriously though, do you not think that his £1.2m wage is a little excessive? If it's £600,000 (the accounts were not clear if it was 6 months of 12) then that's still double Lowe's wage and boy was he chastised for `taking money out of the club'. If I'm, as you say, talking shyte, then I guess you think he is worth every penny? I'm open to be convinced.
  15. there's a lot of it about.
  16. oops, did I just blaspheme?
  17. boy was he **** for Saints when stuck out at right back for Saints back in the day. A lot water under the bridge since then though. I have to ask, if he has been "top draw" for Swansea why are they allowing him to leave? Also is he a big ball winning type like Jaidi? Just what we need if so.
  18. a reduction in Cortese's wage packet might be a good place to start.
  19. earlier in the summer there was talk of him wanting out. The fact he hasn't signed a new contract yet is slightly worrying.
  20. Chaplow certainly was refreshing, but his form dropped massively in the second half of the season. This 1 goal in however many games means ****. Makalele was first choice midfielder for Real Madrid, Chelsea and France and he didn't score goals. So long as the side is scoring it doesn't matter who gets them. I wonder of our goals per game average is lower (over the last 2 seasons) with Morgan playing? Somehow I doubt it. Can I ask whether you went to up to Franchise when Ricky got his hatrick? I don't think I've seen a more dominant CM performance for Saints than on that day
  21. I'd like another wide man that can dribble in case we lose either of the two Al's to injury (the Cork signing has me in such a positive mood even Alex is staying now in my mind...). I don't rate Guly out wide despite the couple of great goals he scored from that position. Holmes hasn't got the pace, energy or ability. Lee Cook would be perfect so long as he passes a medical. I'm not totally convinced at right back. I think both looked OK at League 1 level, but wingers will be better and Butterfield is the slowest fullback I've seen since Makin. A bit of pace to cover round for Jaidi would be nice. Up front is the criticial position though. Goals change games. I like Barnard, but that yard of pace is just not there. Mind you just as I think he isn't up to it he'll score a beauty. Forte looks to me like he has something about him. The trouble is he needs a long run in the side to allow him to blossom. I'm not sure Adkins rates him enough to do that despite his words of backing. Not sure about Sharp, if I'm honest I actually thought we'd buy better. I have few more doubts and niggles, but right now I'd prefer to ignore them and think positive.
  22. the problem is tha both Lmabert and Guly play the same game - dropping into the hole. They eat each others space, don't turn defedners and don't make full backs work for a living. They don't work together. Lambert needs someone in front of him running on the shoulder of the last defender. Someone else suggested Cork and Chaplow. Can't see tha myself. Chaplow is a free runner and that requires a crab behind him. That role is not one Cork wants to play. He likes to get up and down. If Chaplow plays then Morgan or Hammond must be the other partner. As for playing Chamberlain up front, I've no problem with that, but filling that right midfield berth is tough. Guly is not the answer, especially defensively as he ball watches and struggles positionally. Unless we sign a winger then Chamberlain should be left to learn his trade out there as he does a fantastic job. I don't understand anyone that doesn't see what Morgan offers. He still has to prove he can do it at NPC level, but questioning what he did last season is madness. He was a class above any central midfielder in league 1. We were fortunate to have such good players to make up for losing him to injury, but on his return he was the stand out player immediately.
  23. Isn't Ben Tal Heim still part of the squad or are you thinking out of sight, out of pay slips, sorry?
  24. we need a striker so Shearer please
