  1. Davis Hoefkins Jardhi Pele Mills Chris Shuker Gillett Steven Dawson Chris Taylor Webber John Bart Neal Eardley, Simon King, Danny Livesey, Harding, Gobern, Tommy Doherty, Schneiderlin, Holmes Patterson, Steve Kabba I'm talking expensive, but credible signings, followed by promotion. Simple.
  2. I guess I am the only one that isn't all that excited by the John contract offer. He is so lazy.
  3. I've never been overly concerned with experience to be honest but quality, thats a different matter. Perhaps you can describe Saga's qualities to me as in my mind he lacks pace, is crap in the air, lacks strength, offers poor link up play and is a terrible passer. That leaves work rate which I think is average to say the least (I know others disagree), movement and finishing. I'm not sure his movement is fantastic so that leaves finishing. Is it finishing that is his main quality?
  4. every game I have seen him in he has looked decent.
  5. He was totally blameless on Saturday. It sounds as though he didn't impress last night but that doesn't mean he doesn't want to be here. If he leaves then it will free up wages but it is essential that we buy in quality.
  6. well spotted and mind instantly wanders to ****flaps who would never ever use the term `we' to describe what went before (if it was bad).
  7. I agree with Window that we need two not one. Perry tries hard but that is not enough.
  8. First Eriksson joins Nottingham's lessor club now apparently Maradona is willing to leave his international job for Hampshires minor club. http://www.arabianbusiness.com/562686-exclusive-diego-maradona-wants-portsmouth-job-lawyer-claims
  9. Not sure the side is that far from our first 11. Imagine a few injuries and that could be the starting line up. Hopefully we will seriously strengthen over the next few weeks and this side won't ever have to be picked. In the end it is good that Pardew is seeing this now. He will have a much better idea of what is needed if we lose to teams like Salisbury rather than struggle to a 1-0 win.
  10. The result does not matter in friendly games but the way you play and mannetr the team goes about things does matter and its not as though we haev a coupel of months away, it just a couple of weeks now and we need confidence to be high and to hit the griund running. We have almost our first choice defence and are playing two holding midfielders in front of them yet we conceed five. Any chance you could describe some of the goals because in Perry and Lancashire I think we have none of the attributes required of a good centre half pairing - height, strength and pace, so I wonder if they were to blame or was it the nieve full back positioning and them failing to cover the centre backs or was it the overall lack of height of the back four?
  11. looks like he has been reading my posts...
  12. utter ********. He gave his all. It was a lack of quality that let him down.
  13. he was 36 in April. I ahev been sayign it for a long time now that his lack of height and pace cause us problems. His positonal play and comittment is first class but you can see by he number of desperate stretches he makes how his sharpness has gone. I just wonder how he will fare in League 1 - hopefully he will shine.
  14. he certainly did and didn't look a bad player. The whole Charlton side looked good IMO and if they keep their players they would be my favourites to win that league.
  15. Strange that Mills was our best player on Saturday (when moved to left back) and the first signing is a leftback. What next a new keeper? Mind you if every position is going to be strengthened then there won't be complaints from me. I'd like us to add further height at right back especially if Perry is going to play a lot of games.
  16. John won't get a deal while Rasiak and Saga are still here will he?
  17. was a decent prospect at Brighton, but having made his move to Leeds he was a failure there and they shipped him out. He moved to Ipswich and he didn't fair much better and was loaned out a few tiems before being reelased. I don't remember him in the games against us but his record over the last few years is patchy at best. I'm glad we have signed a 6 footer though and hopefully League 1 is his level (surprised Southend did not try to sign him when he was released by Ipswich) but a little unsure. Obviously what has gone before doesn't matter and its all about what he can offer us. Hopefully he will prove to be a solid defender offering the height we need.
  18. happily take Paul Heart off the skates hands should things go pear shaped down there.

    Rasiak

simply because they would have to match his wages, which are astronomical for the CCC never mind League 1.

    Leroy Lita

bloody hell. Every player I fancy for us Pearson signs.
  21. no the Daily Star did. Mind you Euell had the choice or League 1 or CCC football so maybe we wanted him but he chose to move.
  22. they know we have money and want a taste of it. I'd hope that Pardew knows who he wants already and goes to them not the other way round.
  23. Euell could never be described as lazy.

  25. Let me save him some work. We need a ball winning centre back. JPS mould. We need a box to box central midfielder. We need both left and right wide men. Pace and dribbling skills preferable, decent engines and bottle essential. Up front we need some pace. Add to this I'd like to see someone with some set piece ability coming in.
