  1. as we went 4th in the table. What a day that was. Omerods goal...what absolute ****ing joy that was. I even managed to collect my car without having to pay the scouce urchins their protection money.
  2. I bashed Skacel for being a diving cheater, who was lazy, doing the absolute bare minimum in games - I will never forget the incident at Reading where he shrugged his shoulders at the idea of tracking his man, having a very poor engine (running out of steam afetr 60 minutes) and being very poor value for money. He had a very good first touch and offered a little bit of class, but not nearly enough for the hero worship and crowd waving that followed. We will miss his professionalism (being `fouled' going for header, or bumped in the back) but I won't miss his cheating. Lallana is all about potential. One season (well not even that) and he already looked the nuts. He has a great first touch, real confidence and ability on the ball and in time he will become a very good player. You have to remember that he suffered a band ankle knock and that set him back a long way. He struggled when he came back and the wide right role did not suit him at all. He needs to see the ball all the time. Each to his own but I know which player I wanted to see in a Saints shirt this season coming.
  3. lose Lallana. Replace with ****e. Thats what happens in the lower leagues. He's a class act and we must do everything we can to keep him.
  4. I hope ML will be more hands on than is being indictaed on here. We desperately need strong powerful leadership and it is ML that has demonstrated that (I assume he nust have to have made all that wedge) not AO.
  5. very dissapointed about this. I'd hoped he would give us one more season - Commons did for Forrest, two in fact - and now I wonder who is worth watching at the club. A season of Wotton, Gillett, etc doesn't inspire me. Yet more quality we won't be able to replace...
  6. it says he is not going to do media rounds until August, by which time he hopes to have management (at all levels) teams in place. I hope a few players are bought between now and then. Still if it means he is working hard and not talking ****e in the media good on him.
  7. is he in town? Can't wait to hear from him and find out where we stand regarding debts/mortage and most importntly future budget/expectations/hopes/manager/players...
  8. great news. I'm chuffed with that. Those that bought last year despite knowing we were in for a load of **** deserve a brucey bonus IMO.
  9. I liked Jose Somedo myself from Charlton.
  10. Brilliant news. Its says undisclosed fee. Doesn't say what he has actually bought asset wise or where the club is left regarding its debts/mortgage.
  11. maybe the previous didn't include the land, training ground, stadium...who knows.
  12. go on, you can tell me, you two are lovers right?
  13. quality
  14. a new manager like KK, a couple of inspired surprise signings perhaps beyond what we think is possible at this level and who knows the fans might actually start coming back.
  15. sorry if this has been explained before, but does anyone know what is being bought? Will we be debt and mortgage free? Also is there any confirmation that the new owner si actually using his own funds or is he doing a Glazier and borrowing to buy?
  16. Agreed, however unless the oponents started their pres season much much ealier than us we should be both fitter AND better and therefore winning these games at a canter. We aren't therefore we are either not fit enough yet (what have the overpaid lazy bastards being doing all summer) or not good enough (I think we know that). Take your pick. There is a serious lack of quality in our side especially in defence, in midfield and up front. The sooner the new owner is sorted the sooner we can start addressing these areas.
  17. What is Gobern's actual position? When he played out wide he looked gash but when moved inside he looked like Carlton Palmer...no not still gash, but combative, leggy and hardworking.
  18. IYO what makes a good manager
  19. I think some people confuse `can't be arsed to watch a sack of **** saints side lose again at sms' with `boycotting because Rupert Lowe came back to try and protect his investment'.
  20. champions league aint bad now and then
  21. the way Charlton tore us apart at the end of the season makes me think they look a better prospect. They also looked better than us at their place as well - actually I still wonder how did they went down? As for us, I wonder if we are capable of attracting the right players we need to turn us into a lightweight, old, slow, basic side into one that can win pretty much every game.
  22. who knows, the new owner might double season ticket prices and then a fans voice might be needed.

    So In Theory

even if it is **** all at least we are saved and hopefully the club is free from debt so becomes an attractive proposition to another owner somewhere down the line.

    So In Theory

Al Fahid, Mandric, Michael Ashley, Björgólfur Gudmundsson, and Darragh MacAnthony even at Peterborough have all dipped into their fortunes a fair bit.
  25. The FL won't do anything but I'd o thought the creditors will be asking Fry to examine the other bid before closing the deal with the ML. Mind you `a bird in the hand...' springs to mind so maybe they won't. Everyone has had more than enough time to table a bid, I don't think any consortium can have any complaints.
