didn't realise the laziest footballer in the history of the sport bothered with preseason. Mind you I notice he has turned up after the running has been completed. "I don't mind playing in League 1" reads like "No CCC side has signed me yet".

Holmes is garbage, slow, has no trick, no engine, no workrate, doesn't track back, crap in the air, doesn't tackle, I'm not sure his first touch is all that either. Think Anders Svensson without the ability. I am perhaps being a little harsh but when he returned to the side he was appauling, woeful, no absolute utter ****e and a man that looked miles out of his depth. Schneiderlin has a great first touch, two feet and a decent passer. His workrate needs to up, he has to start winning headers and making tackles not to mention offering something gong forward. However he's only 19 and it was his first taste of English football so he should get more leeway than Holmes IMO.

I'm not so sure there were many senior players preventing youngsters coming through last season and most would argue there were in fact far too many `opportunities' for the youngsters to shine.
-
the combination of Anders Limpar and Paul Merson on the wings in their second championship winning season (the season they wore the terrible yellow/black triangle pattern shirts) at the Dell. Tore us to pieces that day as they steam rolled everyone to win the title.

I'm certainly not worried about the numbers, there will be no problem getting a side out. The loan system means you only need half a squad these days anyway and there is no point getting loans in until much closer to the season starting. What I am concerned about is the quality in the side. We lack a decent spine - downgrading the keeper, having the same problem with Perrys lack of height and pace at the back, no real pace or guile in the middle and the lack of pace up front. We also have very poor wide players and if we manage to offload the drain to funds that is Rasiak, then I don't see goals either. At this point though just putting a team out each week would be good enough for me. I'll upgrade my hopes when a new owner signs on the dotted line.

likewise. I have backed him as I did Fuller and Kenny J. People go on about Saga being messed about and that explained his dips in form but look how Bwp was treated last season. If he had played up front all season we would have stayed up IMO. His pace and running down the channels were badly missed as an out ball. His finishing is poor at times as is his decision making and his long range shooting, but he causes oponents problrems and turns teams round. We played far too much stuff in front of defences because we didn't have an outlet that someone like BWP offers.

won't it be SLH that is liquidated? Won't liquidation mean that all the individual elements on the balance sheet will be sold off seperately, the land, the stadium, the training ground, the club...oh wait a minute does that not mean that someone could then buy one or two of the seperate elements and then bobs your unkle you have yourself a football club, perhaps with the need to rent a training ground or a stadium.
-
he didn't though and cried for a move to Celtic as I recall.

the more players you sell the less wages there are to pay. Getting rid of Rasiak and Saga's wages would make all the difference. As I said at the end of the season Rasiaks £15k a week for 16 weeks before leaving on the last day of the window for nothing is what will hurt us most.

Forecast James Lancashire Thomas Mills Gobern Schneiderlin Gillett Lallana McClaggon Paterson I fear for us. There is not a single wide midfielder at the club that I rate

very dissapointed to see him go and only the fact that I knew he had to leave for both the club and his own career has lessoned the blow from the Bridge-like nightmare. I think I am more dissapointed at the reaction of the `supporters' on here than anything else. 22 year old Surman has given everything over the last few seasons and all people can point to is a miss against QPR. Ok so his form came and went but that happens with young players. Mark my words he will be replaced by a much much worse player and in 12 months time you will look back and yearn for the likes of Surman who have terrific first touches and the ability to play in tight spaces.
-
reminds of the loyalty Claus showed us - no one made a better offer. Having said that I respect the way he has handled the situation and I hope he can get us winning games if we get the chance.
-
rubbish, there are so many managers and ex players out of work not to mention coaches and even managers in work that would jump at the chance of the Saints job. A new owner brings new hope. Whether they turn out to be good is a different story.
-
his contract runs out today and what do you know he is going to sign for West Ham. My guess is that this deal has been on the cards for a while and he hasn't been holding on for a contract from Southampton he has just been keeping this deal to himself. Best of luck to the guy, he has earned the move IMO.

the 1/2 pence piece was removed from circulation a long time ago

its funny that despite him being close to being CCC keeper of the year we seriously thought that he'd be happy to hang around all summer waiting for a new League 1 lower pay contract to appear when quite clearly he could get himself even more money on his bosman. Obviously dissapointed. I've backed him since day one and it seriously weakens the side. I wonder how good Forecast is?
-
possibly a country situated between French Guiana and Guyana? Didn't think we owned so much land, no wonder these property developers have been circling.
-
David Pleat was at SMS on a regular basis towards the end of the season
-
strong, good in the air, decent first touch and excellent work rate. That will do for me, and if we can get the right pacey striker to play alongside him then we will do fine.
-
the drop down in division is goign to help him shine next season and perhaps the likes of Lancashire can cope at that level as well. I remember Mills and Monk both having to drop down a division and they have both become decent players and more than coped when they moved back up a level. James Lancashire Thomas Mills might do OK next season.
-
Forrest had it on their OS and it was widely discussed on here this morning.
-
"we will all be keeping a close eye on his progress' sounds like code for there are add ons to the deal. Forrest appear to be going places (spending big bucks anyway) so that can only help us.
-
there's 6 or 7 strikers now at Forrest so he's going to have to work hard to get a shirt. That might be just what he needs to turn him from a talented player into a top quality player
-
so is the club worth £1m less now to the buyers or has this deal been done and dusted for yonks?
