Euell was excellent last night and showed the difference between a big strong quick pro and the young lads we are trying to bring through. He worked hard, but it was his strong tackling, arial strengthm, his pace across the ground and some decent tone touch passing that stood out. Euell was excellent under Pearson and continued that form last night. Great to have him back in the side. Much more impressive than Stern John has been this season.

Surman looked as though his hamstring had tightened and he hobbled off. People are just desperate to slate JP on here for anything. This though is not a rod to beat him with.
-
Not sure why everyone gets so worked up about Stern John - he's lazy adn he misses more chances than he takes. Many suggest that it was Stern John's 19 goals that saved us last season. I disagree with that by the way, but McGoldrick has 7 so far and if he continues to play everyweek (like Stern did last season) then he may well get 19 as well.
-
funny cos McGoldrick credited Lowe with `ten years experience in the game' in his post match interview.
-
Agreed. Thanks for reminding me. In another thread I was a midfielder short.
-
poor old Skacel. Is the 15k a week not enough to motivate him to do a little bit of fitness training? Boo hoo. Don't make excuses for him. A real pro would train hard and force the manager to change his mind. Yes he has been ****ed about, but after a long wait he has had two chances in the first team recently and if he was spot on with his training he would have been in the right condition to impress. He didn't and quite frankly he has failed miserably to ever get himself in the right shape since he was here.

I saw the photo. It was inconclusive whether the photo was photoshopped of even from a touchline.

I feel more depressed finding out that Lancashire's ban is two games, Gillett is injured and Smith and James both likely to start. Davis Cork Wotton Perry Mills Euell Surman Schneiderlin Skacel BWP Patterson
-
by hook or by crook you are there. Good on ya. I can't see that any ST holder will not attend purely as a protest. They may decide not to come because they feel a bit ill, have something mroe pressing or have a long journey etc but I can't see anyone just saying I can't be bothered and wasting their ticket.
-
Why on earth we did not try to sign Wayne Brown on loan from Hull (just gone to Preston for a month) to play at CB and enable Cork to play at right back I will never know. I've been saying for over a month now that he was available. I guess perhaps wages were a problem.
-
no idea why Mills has been dropped, but then again I couldn't ever understand why Schneiderlin was always subbed. For me Mills has looked solid enough and he always gets stuck in, if a little rash at times. JP is clueless IMO.

I was goin to say why on earth did we not let Stern go in the summer if we knew we did not have the funds to afford to play him, but I dare say Lowe expected crowds of around 20k nto 15k and that 5k difference is what is hurting us. Mind you why then did we not play him in the opening games - were we worrid about him getting injured and preventing a transfer? I guess thats the case and then the transfer they hoped would happen didn't. What a mess.
-
perhaps because McGoldrick is on peanuts and Stern's appearance fee priced him out of the side.
-
I think people underestimate the damage that was done closing the Itchen corner.
-
Wigley. what a nightmare.
-
Agreed. People need to look at how relegation affected Bradford, who saddled themseles with horrificly high earners that crippled them when relegated (and didn't return immediately).
-
Lowe appears to be doing everything he can to replace high earners with nippers on peanuts but suiters for Thomas, Skacel and John have just taken too long to appear. Better John leave than Surman and Lallana forced to be sold. The worse nightmare is if both take place.
-
I'm asking you if you had the same funds as Lowe would you waste it on Johns wages. I guarentee the answer will still be no and that's why Lowe should not be chastsied for not doing the same. I certainly won't argue that Askham ****ed us.
-
we've loaned millions from Barclays, the problem is that money has been wasted and now debts must be repaid (or at least stop running up bigger ones).
-
so your solution is for Lowe and Wilde to give away their hard earned cash to pay Stern John's over inflated wages. If you were in Lowe'sw exact same position can you honestly say you would do that? Let me answr that question for you. Not a chance in hell.
-
for starters I'd wager he's on a damn sight more than 10k a week. Add at least 5k and you'll be much closer, but the fact is 5000 fans have decided not to turn up so we can't afford to pay him. What we need is your 666 more people to come to games to be able to pay him not 666 existing supporters to keep coming. The overdraft is increasing, what do you suggest we do to stop that?
-
I agree with you about making the wrong choices, why on earth we signed Forecast I will never know, but all of those players wages combined probably add up to Stern Johns wage.
-
Leeds fans would laugh at someone like you. They turn up in league 1 in their thousands and they have Mr Chelseascum as their chairman. You're just another `Come to see United you only come to see United' saints `fan'.
-
I've called myself a mug fan on here a number of times, but I don't expect another `Saints supporter' to come on here and call me a mug just because I prefer to get a £15 ticket for every game. `Best fans in the world', laughable when you have people like you criticisng others for actually going to games.

OS says "unable to guarentee him a first team place and the WAGES THAT GO WITH IT." A carefull worded release that tells you his contract includes a huge appearance fee. From that I would conclude that Skacel is almost certainly on the same sort deal (as rumoured on here) and the reason why both have not been played unless absolutely neccesary. To be honest I am surprised someone did not take him in the summer. My guess is that Bristol City are not paying all his wages during this loan period (we pay a percentage) or if we are lucky a deal has been struck whereby Bristol are paying a flat rate slightly higher than he got here with no appearance fee. I know he scored goals last season and thats what he does but I wish we had never signed him. Apart from the fact I hate lazy bastard players like him, at the time we had countless other strikers and hsi wages are part of the reason we are in this mess. Having Rasiak AND John was stupid. Rediculous even.
