  1. on Shffeild radio the Barnsley fans said they are playing better without Howard and were unlucky not to be 3 or 4 nil up at half time on Saturday. that doesn't sound like a side that wants the manager gone but there will always be sone players not happy.
  2. Watford are in need of a keeper on loan and I wondered if we might consider offering them one of ours or are they a potential relegation rival?
  3. he certainly looked ****.
  4. He was ****ed off that Barnsley priced him out of a big move in the summer. He's out of contract next summer and won't sign a new deal. Sheff United know this hence £600,000 is the price. The loan deal/signing in Januray is done according to BBC Sheffield. The Barnsley fans weren't surprised or all that fussed as he has done nothing this season.
  5. Just returned from yet another Yorkshire pilgramage. Absolutely delighted we took all three points, but if anyone thinks we have turned a cormer they are kidding themselves. This win certainly won't do our confidence any harm and I hope we can get a roll going but I fear it may just paper over the cracks. The positives. We beat what was in front of us, but let me state that that was a Donny side short on confidence and lacking any cutting edge whatsoever. Davis continues to shine and saved well when Byfield was 1 on 1. His distribution was top class and his ground kicking even on his wrong foot was solid. Lancashire offers us some pace at CB. Mills looked terrific in what is only his third game. Not only might we have founhd a decent fullback but it will allow Surman to play further forward. Cork can play. I thought he was terrific at right back the other week and he looks as though he can play anywhere. He would be wasted at CB. Stern looked good for 5 minutes. Thats about it really. The negatives. James was and is terrible. I have bigged him up for three years as a CM. But he is the worst right back I have ever seen. Slow, poor distribution, crap in the air, appauling positional sense. He kept them on side time after time, dilly dallied on the ball andnearly cost us `shielding the ball off for a goal kick'. He is bad and we must try someone else. Pekart was terrible. He won next to nothing in the air, chased hardly anything, did nothing with the ball when he got it. Very dissapointing. He has not impressed me at all so far. He must improve a lot. McGoldrick scored, it was his goal, but he didn't do much for me. He is not a right midfielder and I don't understand why we play him there. Yes we won, yes he scored, but if we continue using him in this way we'll lose a lot more than we win.
  6. in the formation we are using I'd pick Skacel every day of the week at left wing. He doesn't have any pace but he does much much more with it than Dyer, BWP, McGoldrick...even Holmes. I was at Derby and he may have been on the pitch for 2 hours but he was out on his feet after an hour and did the bare minimum. Once forward he walked back. It matters not as at left wing he isn't required to track back. I certainly can't argue that we need fullbacks but Cork looked decent there against Barnsley and Surman has done OK. I've gave up calling for a full back long ago as quite clearly that position is a bemuda triangle at this club... Anyone that witnessed the debarcle on Tuesday will see that without Gillett there is a massie void in CM. As soon as I read that Gillett was out on Saturday it made me think twice about going as I just can't see us winning without him. We'll see. Hope I'm wrong otherwise its another long trip back...
  7. is lancashire good enough? Wotton certainly isn't. Skacel at left midfield. So who plays there for the last 30 minutes?
  8. oops, confusing my don valleys with my donny rovers.
  9. so who are we playing there tomorrow then? Surman and James? woppee****igndo.
  10. btu he's just cover for Lallana. We need some bite in the middle. Gillett offers us this but he is going to get suspended soon, is innured now and will no doubt lose form at some point. Clueless squad building.
  11. We play one up front with wingers that do **** all thats why we don't score goals. I didn't see us miss many chances at Donny, Barnsley or Ipswich. CM is the problem position especially with Gillett injured.
  12. Can someone please tell me why we have loaned a striker when we desperately need someone to play at CM? We saw on Tuesday that without Gillett snapping at players heals we have absolutely nothing at CM. Wotton is like a statue (and might have to play at CB anyway), Surman is an attacking midfielder, Schneiderlin is injured along with Pulis. James appears our only other option and he looks short at this level to me. I just don't understand that decision. I fear for us on Saturday, I thought Gillett and Schneiderlin would be fit but Jan says otherwise. Surely there must be a CM available for loan somewhere?

    Safri sale?

I thought if the buying club doesn't pay up then because you can hold on to the registration the player can't `officially' play. If the league they are in allows it then that country can be banned from FIFA competitions?
  14. I am confused Jan said we have lots of players in his position yet I don't see any. BWP and McGoldrick are not right wingers. When do either ever get to the byeline? Hang on maybe he is talking about left wing as the idot has been playing him out there hasn't he. Jan is clueless IMO. He changes the side every single game no matter what. Players (apart from James) are not being given enough time to find their feet and he is swapping the side about every two minutes. Stern is now the best thing since slice bread following similar praise for Pekhart, BWP and McGoldrick. We've only played 7 league games and already 4 strikers have been the blue eyed boy. And now we sign another one. Why not get a ****ing CM in as without Gillett we have **** all there.
  15. only the seats woud burn at our place then we'd be left with terraces..
  16. ********. Pearson didn't have micky mouse cup games to improve his stats. Pearson S****horpe 1-1 Southampton Southampton 1-1 Ipswich Wolves 2-2 Southampton Blackpool 2-2 Southampton Southampton 1-0 Leicester Hull City 5-0 Southampton Southampton 0-0 Coventry 8 points from 7 games Jan Cardiff 2-1 Southampton Southampton 1-2 Birmingham Derby 0-1 Southampton Southampton 0-1 Blackpool QPR 4-1 Southampton Southampton 2-2 Ipswich Southampton 0-0 Barnsley 5 points from 7 games
  17. but if you mix that hay with mud you could at least make a decent hut. JP seems to prefer to just stack the fresh hay every week in the same fancy bundles and hope for the best.
  18. spot on. If we really must play this 4-3-3 then make him one of the strikers not the midfield. I'd much rather see Lallana at rigth wing than McGoldrik.
  19. I can't wait for Saturday. My Dad and his parents lived in Donny for years and naturally enough I have followed closely their downfall and then rise from the ashes. Never in a million years did I think we would ever face each other in the league, but what do you know. My Dad actually "helped build the new stadium", well he's a lorry driver that delivered 50 loads of iron girders/fencing, but I've yet to see the new ground. I went to Bell Vue many years ago to see Bury win in a midweek cup game with Peter Reid in midfield and boy was it a **** hole. OK so no doubt every post above (not read them) is concerned about our own misfortunes, but if you stop for two seconds and consider how bad things got for Donny (the chairman went to jail having been caught trying to burn the ground down due to horrific financial problems) then perhaps you will see that things could be worse! Anyho for those that are going, especially the few coming from the south coast, enjoy the trip and the game. See ya there.
  20. absolutely spot on and that is why Pearson did not play them last season.

    Jans Verdict

Are any of the senior players not being utilised actually available to Jan - Skacel, Thomas and Euell?
  22. perhaps the price is better now, or will be soon?
  23. if we go into administration then Surman, Lallana, Davis, John, all walk for peanuts. I'd expect Lowe to make an offer to buy the club as well.

    Bart Vs KD

there was a contract stipulating that they would pay us X amount. Why the **** did we not sit and wait for the cash to roll in rather than take a third string keeper instead? the bank wanted cash not extra wages. Did we even need a 3rd keeper? We could have got an emergency loan if we had got an injury to Davis/Bartor just used a youngster to sit on the bench. Madness. The only thing I can think of was Davis was sold and it fell through at last minute and we got left holding the baby (Forecast).

    Merrington

perhaps they want to buy a CCC side now, keep them up and then get them promoted to the Premiership the following season rather than sit and wait and acquire a League 1 side.
