Crewe don't appear to be getting the same quality of player through the doors now that other clubs have equal if not better youth development schemes.
-
he offers something very few other Premeirship strikers can and that's raw power and fantastic arial abililty both in attack and defence. cvntflaps loves the big man small man combination and Jones/Defoe is not a bad pairing if you ask me. I for one thought £6m was a steal and felt we could have got more if Jones had not been such a ******.
-
two leagues up and a Sky cheque coming their way though.
-
KP needs to be included then
-
I presume you mean welch out of the £23.5m to Aviva? Actually just like us, if you fail to pay your debts then **** Park becomes ownership of your own creditor(s).
-
they were both at the club, I should know I had to mark Eadie every bloody week.
-
Jamie Cureton and Darren Eadie, both on the books, but left when the then Youth Development Officer left the club.

what a load of old ********. The best footballing sides get promoted. Yes you have to have good strong defenders and bite in midfield, but this idea that lumping it long all day long to a huge lump of astriker is how you get promoted from the lower leagues is rubbish. Check out the top five or six of League 1 and you will find the best footballing sides at the top not the bottom. Peterborough have played teams off the park over the last two seasons and have been promoted twice in a row, the same applies at all levels. Passing football is the way forward so long as you throw in some pace and power as well. They key is quality footballers. If you have quality players you can play a passing game and win. However if the squad does not have that ability then you have to start looking at alternatives to make best use of your squad. If we have players like Schneiderlin, Lallana, Surman and McGoldrick (all high technique low strength players) in the squad next season then the only way we are going to do anything is to get the ball down and play. If we have BWP then we can play the ball down the channels. If Wotton is going to be playing then a passing game through the middle is completely pointless as he does not posess the quality required. As for Pele, he offers the quality on the ball as well as the strength and bite required. He won't be coming to us thats for sure, he's way out of our league sadly.
-
when comparing Euell and BWP to other players out there commanding similar wages then you have to be talking about free transfers as Cox is worth £2m (apparently) which effectively adds £10k a week over four years even before you add his wages on top.
-
shame, Gillinghams open to all weathers away end is ****e. Would have been nice to go to the New Meadow. Hay ho.
-
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, absolute ****ing ****e. How on earth can you play a defensive midfield role if you don't tackle, ever. Garbage. Never understood what Luggy saw in him and he has done sweet **** all at Sheff Wed and Plymouth. I'd much rather play Schneiderlin if we are going for non tackler
-
why on earth would you not want Pele? He's better at CB than Perry and better at CM than any of the other players we have at the club.
-
didn't he have more shots than any other player? Someone must have created something. I hope we keep the lad (partly because his replacement will be worse - they alwasy are when you slip down the leagues) because he has a great first touch and offers something a little different. I backed him on here last season against a tidal wave of abuse, but even I have to acknowledge the fact that he is lazy.
-
I didn't realise McKenna was regarded as one of the best midfielders in the CCC!
-
Wimbledon had to start much lower than the Blue Square, what has changed since then?
-
Is that June 12th date a deadline for agreeing a CVA and/or coming out of administration otherwise we face losing further points as Leeds did?
-
after 20 odd years in the Prem and a few in the CCC I just can't see any signings in League 1 getting Saints fans excited. My hot tip for exampe on the HCDAJFU thread was Danny N'Gussen from Lincoln. He is a young winger available on a free. If we managed to get him, which we won't, do you think many will have heard of him never mind get excited about it.
-
I'm going to miss his very enthusiastic ramblings whenever he co-commentated on CCC game on 5-live. Best of luck to the guy.
-
We don't need a left back if Mills stays. I quite like the fella Liam Trotter who has yet to leave Ipswich but is out of contract in the summer.
-
Brighton apart.
-
the young Welsh Internatinal who has got a host of games for Man City in the Premiership this season? Not very realistic.
-
when he says talking to out of contract players does he mean Davis et al or players that were at other clubs? I hope the latter as it shows that there is some sort of scouting systerm behind the scenes even if it is filled by people that don't seem to be able to differentiate between their arse and elbow.
-
He had already earned a fortune, but he still looked for another pay day with his testimonial game. Legend, pah, he only stayed cos no one else wanted to pay him more than we did.
-
that's right, despite him playing very well in the first half of the season Pearson extended Wright's loan period even after Davis' broken finger had recovered - this at a time when we could have done without spending yet more money on loanees. Mind you he has had another good season and he will have been watched just like a lot of other soon to be out of contract players. Forrest need a keeper by the way.
-
bearing in mind we will (hopefully) be starting next season in League 1 on -10 points I think I would bust a gut to keep Davis, Saeijs, James, Mills, Lallana and Surman. I realise that opinjons will differ abtu these but rest assured if they leave the replacements WILL be worse.
