  1. if the PInnacle deal goes through I assume the Surman deal will still go through though? I have to laugh at those on here that slate Surman right left and centre yet he is apparently a hairs wisker from joining a premiership side.
  2. interesting that we would allow Molyneux to go out on a trial despite him being under contract. I still don't know why he was signed when Mills looked more than capable and quite clearly would improve with more games under his belt. Has Mills signed a new deal yet?
  3. if cleaning the slate means getting rid of talented young players that have yet to reach their peak and replacing them with journeymen ****e then I'll give that tactic a miss thanks.
  4. as much as I chastised him last season for only making 5 tackles in total I still can see the potential in him and would like him to stay. People have to remember his age before writing him off. I have to laugh at all those that think he would be better at a higher level. Quality players will shine more in the lower league not less - you have MORE time not less the lower you go down the leagues.
  5. I see Pearson has taken my advice and signed N'Guessen from Lincoln. Shame, just what we needed IMO. Still we have Holmes, Sigh.
  6. what's this obsession with having Matt at the helm?
  7. because it might save the club and subsequently their job in the long term. Look around you, people up and down the country are being made unemployed and more and more companies are asking employees to work for free for a week or two to help save the companies from extinction. If the employees don't want to do this then they can leave. I must add that I don't think the situation is nice but it is acceptable and yes if I was asked to do the same at my comapny to try to secure a long term future I would.
  8. Benfica I think.
  9. are you sure? The longer this goes on the more chance people will have had to spend the cash or decide to other things such as getting a golf club membership or maybe playing saturday league...
  10. You have a club, one of its members falls ill, cancer perhaps, the member was a heavy smoker and that was the cause of the cancer. Does the club tell the member to **** himself as he should not have smoked in the first place or does the club board do its best to help the member back to good health knowing full well they are not going to smoke ever again?
  11. Parma will probably want paying and bring zero fans. We have at least 300 mugs willing to pay £15 for a friendly
  12. rather than wanting topull out perhaps they see this as an opportunity to now reduce the amount offered to the creditors. £14M + right of appeal £13M without it?
  13. what I don't understand is why having punished us do they seem intent on grinding us into the dirt? As one of the 72 members you'd think they'd be doing their best to help us survive not their utmost to have us liquidated. Yes we did wrong and the -10 seems fair to me, but there is no reason whatsoever why the FL could not approve the new ownership, allow us to appeal and then reject that appeal if they see fit. If they believe in their decision to **** us 10 points you'd think they would not fear an appeal in any way.
  14. so the £14m rumoured fee clears all debts AND pays the mortage off as well. Is that conformed anywhere? Blimey that would be fantastic.
  15. enjoy the exclusivity or alternativley just remember back to 2003 and the thousands desperate for FA Cup final tickets.
  16. absolutely brilliant news. I rate Patterson highly and he has shown enough for me to think he will do us proud in the coming season.
  17. someone I championed many years back. Not sure he would go as low as the third tier of English football.

on our way on our way, on our way, on our way I don't care where you come from I don't care where you come from all i know is we are on our way
  19. Mark Dennis said one of the backers was a stock broker worth £50m and then there was another party and he was worth `a lot more'.
  20. exactly how I feel. What a shot in the arm that would be. The club is desperately in need of a change of momentum and KK would offer just that. Obviously it doesn't mean we will suddenly become successful, but at a time when we are extremely fragile and there is still a genuine risk that we could go down next season we can start considering Saints in a positive light at last. I just wonder also if players like Surman and Lallana might think twice before taking moves?
  21. Donny Rovers perhaps seeing as he is an Armthorpe lad.
  22. why people think that tactics are less important the further down the leagues you go I will never know. I play 5 a side and even at that crappy level tactcis come into play. As for thinking that our players are going to be fitter because we have more dumbells in our gym...gee

    The Echo

and there's me thinking that a newspaper is there to report news.
  24. no sooner do we sign up do we find out they (Perform) are chumps. Not sure of the financial implications of joining the Perform `group' but I think it is a damn shame that the web business is not performed in house or at the very least by a Southampton based company (apologies of Perform are just that but I would guess they are London based) - I suppose with our recent financial record maybe we are not such an attractive client, but I'd like to see the local community/businesses benefitting from the club which I have no doubt gets a revenue stream from somewhere based on it being a `community club'.
