  1. He's our chief executive officer.
  2. I don't understand what you mean by "target", then - European football is the target every season, it was the target this season and we got pretty close to delivering it at wembley, which would have three years in a row, flipping good for a team our size (I can't think of any clubs like us in my lifetime that have done it. Villa, but they are much bigger than us). So where has anyone said it wasn't the target? Yes we have made some mistakes and dropped back a bit this season but there you go, it was going to happen eventually. So you are saying "of course we won't finish top 6 or 7 every season" but you seem to be struggling to accept a season when we are falling short and pretending we have changed the target. We haven't. We target European football every season. Fact. Happy now?
  3. No idea what Tottenham have got to do with anything, suffice to say throughout that entire time you are talking about they remained a far bigger club than us, mid table finishes or not, and we finished above them only a handful of times during that period. Of course Tottenham wouldn't be happy with a 10th place now, but our equivalent to that would be mid table in the Championship, and no one on her is saying they'd be happy with that. So what's your point? Targets do change over time, which is why Leeds and Villa have a target to get promoted back to the Premier League. Ours has changed from promotion, to staying up to challenging for the European places. The target hasn't changed. We've fallen short this season but anyone that thinks we were going to be top six without fail every single season forever from now is a moron. I have no expectation whatsoever that new investment will suddenly turn us into Manchester City or anything like it. KL wants to sell up because of she doesn't have the stomach for the ongoing investment season after season to stay where we are, not because she hasn't got the investment to smash the champions league (which she hasn't got either). I doubt very much that any new owner will deliver that, outside of a Leicester freak-show.
  4. Fu cking laughable. This season is the only season we ever tried in the League Cup because before that we were big old mega-club Southampton too busy working on European domination to worry about the little old league cup. So Cedric, VVD, Bertrand, Wanyama, Tadic, Mane, Davis and Pelle are reserves now then? Because that's who played in our six-one cup tonking under Koeman. Plus Long, JWP, Clasie, Romeu and Stek. The only play who could be described as a reserve in that game was Caulker and even then he was a recognised name signing. I'd do the same exercise for the Sheffield United atrocity the season before (hint: Morgan, Victor, Mane, Long, Fonte, Bertrand, Forster, Clyne) but you've embarrassed yourself enough already.
  5. I'm celebrating the fact we got to a cup final. It was brilliant.
  6. I remember you drooling about them signing Benteke and Townsend less than 12 months ago.
  7. Hah. I was there too. The point stands - 2 in forty years still means one is worth celebrating.
  8. To be honest, I think not that much overlap. I think of the people on this forum who have always valued a cup final over a higher league finish are far less likely to be Puel-out nutcases. People like Whelk, VFFT or Lord D I am pretty sure agreed with me on cup vs league and agree with me now that at very least the manager deserves to at least finish the season.
  9. This guy knows his stuff. Can't see Rodgers bailing on Celtic just yet, but he will after one more season especially if he has a decent crack at the CL next year. His work will be done. He is made for us and perfectly capable of getting to a disappointing 9th place with some regularity.

This from the guy blubbering like a baby every sodding week about what a TV pundit says about us.
  11. We haven't reached a major cup final for the best part of forty years. Forty years. But celebrating that fact is tin pot now? Well I did celebrate it and will be celebrating it for the rest of my supporting life. It's perfectly possible we won't make another one for a decade or two or more. People in 1979 thought the next one would be quite soon after too, no doubt. I can only assume you are thirteen years old because fu ck me you need to support the club actually in front of you, not the one you think you should be supporting.

Or, just look at a normal league table and notice, pretty easily, that the teams around us have similar numbers of points?

No one said anything remotely like this. I think you need to calm down sweetheart.
  14. I've hear Claude can't get instructions out to the players from the touchline any more. His larynx is shot to sh it.

  17. As I said, beyond you.
  18. If Cedric is sold do people seriously think the only options available to us are extend Martina's contract or offer Caceres a permanent deal? It's a race between Cocu and Martin to see who is out of the door first come June, and we'll sign a perfectly good new permanent full back.
  19. You can make stuff up if you like. As I said, beyond you.
  20. As I said, it's completely beyond you.
  21. May needs a bigger majority so she isn't held to ransom by her own lunatic fringe. More Tory MPs mean more soft Brexit support in the same way a majority of Conservative MPs supported remain. Pretty basic stuff. Utterly beyond you of course.
  22. If he was then we would have signed him long before the second week of February after we'd tried and failed to sign (at least) two other centre backs. He is not the long term answer to anything. He will be gone by 1st June.

Daring to dissent? Who exactly is stopping you and who exactly are you dissenting against? It's a fans forum you soppy sod.
  24. You missed the majority of Conservative MPs including the then and also the current Prime Minister campaigning for Remain, then? It's pretty flaming obvious why May needs a stonking majority. She needs insurance against the swivel eyed nutjob Brexiteers when she has to make concessions and sell the best deal she can get back to parliament.
