Got to say this post gave me the biggest LOL on this thread.

I posted a throwaway gag that you have taken umbridge at. Get a sense of humour. How it insulted you or anyone I will never know. I'm delighted your book is back in, especially as the whole episode demonstrates what a bellend that Italian was. But your self righteousness here is a clear demonstration of why Nicola had so little time for you.

We do know it was a hollow pipe dream because Cortese is gone. We were never going to be given the infinite resources we would have needed to get into the Champions League, or to build that pie in the sky stadium we clearly don't need. With the old man out of the way, Cortese thought he would just continue spunking money about on his very own little train set, making louder and louder Champions League claims through his chums in the media as he went along. Well the free money tap, unsurprisingly, got switched off and off he has scuttled. A bit like the Monorail salesman in The Simpsons. Luckily, though, the people that actually matter - owner, manager, players - are still here.
-
Gawd knows which people you're blathering about Franklin. The simple fact is Lowe and Cortese are similar in many ways, the main one being they both spoke of targeting the Champions League. And neither of them had access to the resources to deliver it.

Calm down you old tart.

I only bought it for the Sam Gallagher section. Imagine my disappointment.

It won't get recinded. The court of arbitration for sport process would probably take until November. It's not like they can overturn it next week. Just pointless posturing from WHU. Much like us with Clattenberg/Lallana.

Shame. Was looking forward to a few Europa qualifiers in July.

Dawlish. Just after Exeter so prob okay for them.

Saints long term deal with adidas to be terminated?

So you are comparing our current abortion of a kit to which top end high quality "good taste" product, then? Do tell. Show us how classy you are. -

They don't represent this then: FA Cup winners FA Cup finalists Promotion to the Prem Eighth in the prem, fourth the following Christmas Le Tissier's greatest goals ZDS Cup final, JPS final Beattie Pahars Killer Bridge European football Chris Nicholl's wonder kids Shearers debut and so on ...basically the club you have supported all your life. Who'd want to look like Saints when we can look like Swindon and Bristol City, eh? Mental. -
Obviously not that kind of sacking is it. Laudrup clearly not happy about financial support and/or not prepared to commit to a long term deal and/or some other personal fall out. A relationship has broken down. Blatantly not a "results not good enough : sacked" type of departure.

Oh but stripes are so terribly, terribly old fashioned and I wouldn't know if I was supporting Stoke or Sunderland or something. Far prefer our current kit. Cutting edge, dynamic and revolutionary, and utterly unique from any other kit any other team has ever worn in British football history. -
Potential Poch successor ready to go in the summer, then. Laudrop I mean. Not Garry Monk.
-
The qualifying stage is not the Champions League. They didn't qualify for the Champions League.

Not sure why the choice would be Adidas or own brand. There are other options. Haven't Puma made a comeback with a deal with Arsenal recently. They might want to add another Prem club in. Personally I think we will be in adidas next year anyway. In lovely ol' stripes. -
It's not negative to enjoy being top ten and going for a cup run. It is effing brilliant for Saints. It's far more negative grizzling on about Merseyside clubs and pining over what they may or may not do. And either way, Everton have never been in the Champions League and probably won't this season. Support your own club son. We're having a brilliant season.

There are forum geniuses still amongst us that tell us we only need to spend £15m a season to "compete with the big boys". Reckon we can stretch to that so our dream is unquestionably still real. The enlighted ones will have the last laugh.
-
Quite. And the behaviours demonstrated by our owners since we got promoted. Hilarious I get asked for evidence to "prove" something pitifully obvious.
-
Add to that the fact that Cortese's pet Daily Mail journo Neil Ashton said on Five Live when he left saying that the rat faced dwarf had no plans to make any signing in January anyway. Our transfer window dealings have been no different following the change of leadership. People need to calm down.
-
Not quite. Cortese leaving is directly related to the fact that his "vision" was pie in the sky and never realistically going to happen. Cortese thought he could rely on the Leibherrs to bankroll the club to the Champions League but it was pretty obvious they were never that mental.

We've got the right combination of ingredients - some young and fresh, some nicely matured. Our base is fine English stock but expertly blended with a tasty fusion of world cuisine. And our head chef is clever enough to know when there is just a little too much Italian spice. With experts scouring the world for the next tasty morsel to add to the mix and our owner planning to have us dining at the top table for years to come, it is safe to say Saints have the perfect recipe for success.

Whatever you say, Strawlock.

Yeah. If there's one thing big club managers love it's their players being picked for international duty. Love it, they do.
