    Wotte OUT

I believe that people recognise passion in a manager as a positive thing and even more so when it can be seen to motivate players. Pearson also recognised last season that certain positions particulary in defence required change and successfully brought in the players to do that. He made the changes he felt were required to a dis-spirited team that he inherited and by the skin of his teeth kept us in the division from where we should have built this season However Jan and Wotte have had all season to work with the players they had available. I do not believe either of them to be motivators and we find ourselves now almost relegated. The style of play - one man up front is awful and to play this way at home is almost criminal. We have won barely three or four home games all season and the system does not work fin the league we are currently in and would not work in D1. Anyway I have wasted enough of my life today on SFC !!
  2. Europe next season ?? Organising a booze cruise John Boy !!!

  4. His earlier years with us had quite a few shaky moments but it is his attitude that the others could learn from. A true Pro and I hope he stays.
  5. Quite right I cannot see the players to get us out of that division. Leicester are a skillfull and well motivated side
  6. If only it was only football. If you play your best and still lose, you can at least hold your head up. This team is truly awful and coupled with the boardroom antics and administration the club is in meltdown
  7. Well done and Congratulations NP. Enjoy your success.
  8. Just came off the Oriana which docked in Cherbourg last week. There is very little to see or do there. Le Havre is just a big industrial port. There is however a town called Honfleur which is a very picturesque which is accessible from Le-Havre
  9. I don't forget Ted at all, My Grandfather first took me to the Dell when he was the manager. My strongest memories are however the period when Lawrie was in charge and lets not forget he had a pretty rough ride from the supporters until 1976 and from then he did little wrong IMO. It was not all plain sailing for him. The verbal abuse he initially received when he used to walk the touchline at the beginning of each match was huge.
  10. And many of those great players would not have been here but for Lawrie. Those were wonderful years and I do not like the re-writing of history by some posters disparaging The Manageral contribution at that time.
  11. Of course performance had a lot to do with it. The team under JP barely won a couple of home games all season and the way in which we played at that time with a young forward in his first full season leading the line coupled with a poor defence probably predetermined every match result until Christmas. Fans and supporters see what the problems are, they also see no attempts at correcting the situation. JP was a very poor manager for us. Wotte is better and it is a shame the managerial change was not made earlier. If the Club are not willing to make changes to improve results, who can blame fans for staying away.
  12. And the Doncaster game - Our home form has been appalling. If only we could have won just a couple more games ......................
  13. The forum will cease to exist, will have to go into administartion and will eventually get purchased by TUI for an undisclosed fee.
  14. What we need is a PROVEN manager for the league we will be fighting in. One that has excellent knowledge of the league and knows how to get out of it with the CV to back up those credentials You may not like Sturrock, I happen to, but he does have those credentials All those calling for the big names may ask themselves why they do not have current employment - Too expensive and flatter to deceive
  15. Thats a reasonable call. 2 play off finals at Wembley and currently first season in league are third and in automatic playoff place. We may be in the same division as Exeter next season and Tisdale and Perryman although relatively inexperienced in the league are certainly names to keep in mind.
  16. Sturrock is proven and has been successful in Div 1 with both Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday. I could understand the appointment if it was made - but could equally understand that the fans want someone previously not attached with the club
  17. I agree and I have supported the team for over 45 years so that is saying something
  18. The Share price of B Traynor is currently 116p - not such a good call by Mr Goodall - A lot has happened in three months though
  19. Sorry that should have read their January 2009 newsletter!!
  20. WH Ireland puffed up the share price of Begbies Traynor in their November newsletter quote 'Specialist insolvency practitioner Begbies Traynor is well placed to benefit from the current weakness in the economy and the shares offer a good hedge against further deterioration. Around 80% of revenues come from insolvency and corporate recovery, with the balance from tax consulting, corporate finance and other business. December’s trading statement revealed that revenues are significantly ahead of the previous year due to the strong trading of its core insolvency division. Management forecasts that results will meet expectations. We would expect this trend to continue and, following profit taking, the shares offer decent value. Buy at 140p. (John Goodall)' unquote
  21. Flybe did this to Exeter as well and they are now in the play off's, I think it may say more about them then us - perhaps they are just looking for a way out !!
  22. Mark Fry (administrator) on radio solent being interviewed - pleased with attendance, calling on fans to fill stadium for remaining games. Seems the committment shown by the fans towards the club is a very significant issue towards potential buyers
  23. Wotte sent Off!!
  24. Saved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. I seems to me that Rupert believes that the best form of defence is attack. Lets not forget the Company has gone into administration under his stewardship and that is what the records will always show.
