100% agree. Hence why I could not quite understand the huge focus on the Blackpool match (great though it was) for the past week, versus almost no mention of Tuesday's match. As has been well said by others, if we can come away with a win this would be a massive statement of intent re promotion

Great win today! Shame Oldham had one as well. OK it was against Swindon but they were in fantastic form on Sky recently v Charlton. Oldham's home record remains excellent - better than ours - so it is going to be tough. Lets hope the likes of Lallana and Lambert who played today are ok. With the benefit of the other players to come back in, the small number of Saints fans who are making the trip will be right behind the lads pushing to get back to 2nd place. 0-1 will be do me fine!

Thanks for misquoting me. I said check the other threads re pre season. And Nicola said Pardew was to blame pre season re Lambert, not me. And to be clear I would like us to rest some players tomorrow and save them for Tuesday, as I think that is more important. I have not said I want us to lose. I said I want to win both if poss, but Tuesday is my preference May see you tomorrow. More likely Tuesday.

see detailed threads on previous manager pre-season training regime. dont think all these happened in one trainining session FWIW I give up. we should play the best team that we can on Sat, the same team that has played 3 games since 28th (and travelled up to Charlton on 26th) because Oldham away on Tues will be average, and then once they are back from Lancashire we should roll out the same 11 for Notts County and then we can look forward to the 4th round and two games a week for a while, and no other teams will catch us up. sorry for the pessimism.

After Oldham we have another league match on Saturday, so its another week of 2 matches (or 3 in 8 days, again). I want to give the Oldham match a good go, not wait until "after Oldham". Stats on prevalence of training injuries (your previous point) whenever you are ready.

stats on injuries in training -v- injuries in matches welcomed. Its not just injuries FFS. Its playing 2/3 games per week for three weeks running. Not ideal

They also beat Brentford 3-1 away. Lost 1 at home all season. Two points behind us if they win the 2 games in hand. Does that make us average too? I hope we beat them but why the complacency is beyond me

He is going, he attends regularly, has done so for years both while they were doing well and while in L1 so I respect his opinion. Leeds fans would have a different view about that OT match had they not gone up I suggest. I happen to think Oldham on tuesday will be tough and I am going (are you?) so allow me to have a view about how we might do and what might happen. I hope we win both but would take Tues every time

Their league performance went into freefall after winning at OT. I dont remember the exact stats but I am sure they were top with a decent lead and after OT they failed to win any of the next 7 or 8. OK so yes they did go up but it was tight. I am sat next to an avid Leeds fan and he is in two minds about whether he wants them to win at Arsenal tomorrow

Most Championship sides would struggle to (a) offer what Saints would want - even if we wanted to sell; and (b) offer Lambert more than what he is on at Saints - even if he wanted to move. Non starter IMHO

er, ok but lets get some perspective. A techy web site with a lead story about "Big Brother shock story". A web site of uncertain repute. Some quotes prefaced by "according to news reports". Actual direct quotes dont say everything that the article implies and contain nothing very surprising. If they start to interrupt games with adverts then a lot of folks will be hitting "off" so its a non starter in any event. I could go on but will summise it as - dont believe all that you read!

Mate dont believe all that you read - the cameras are not that good!! - it would cost 10 times what it does if they could pick up brand names and logos, cross check them against a built in database and then download adverts to match! Oh, and just where do the adverts appear?? Chill
