  1. Thanks, I did not realise the choice to help me or anyone else with belief was so simple. So he could not have created the universe, planet, atmosphere, environment, people and so on, then allowed people to have independent thought. Lucky that we can freely do and think whatever we want then
  2. No, it doesnt "allow" anything of the sort. If anyone behaves like a fokker six days a week, every week, then they are either not looking for forgiveness at all or if they are, their actions will clearly show otherwise. Just claiming to be a Christian does not cut it. Was it God who built up whole communities in a part of the world where there is a serious risk of earthquakes and tsunamis? Nope it was us. Did he put a Nuclear Power station there as well and then not consider what might happen if there was a quake? Us again. An earlier poster on here complained that if he jumped off a building and then prayed for God to save him, it would not happen. I cant be sure that he would not be saved but if he did hit the ground and die, it would be because his actions were dumb and they have consequences. I am not saying the Japanese folks deserved what happened, of course not, it is a massive tragedy. But a world without consequences to any actions would be mind numbingly robotic and anarchic rolled into one great hideous mess.
  3. Very close call between that and the goal by Bent in the last few seconds at home. 2800 of us at W Brom midweek when we had been dire all season
  4. Nothing to be scared about. Would prefer Posh to come up simply because London Road is nearer - although the Galpharm is much nicer. Think Hudders will win in any event
  5. We are not exactly over-staffed with players who can put in high quality crosses. He can do so from the touchline, has done so in the Championship before and I would happily have him as one of my seven subs. If fit
  6. Is there a Manager award for this? Hats off to him, he would hang on to that trophy for many years
  7. re the OP. Save him from who exactly? or did you mean for a rainy day? hmmm
  8. I am in. Would suit me perfectly. Like others on here I gave up my season ticket when no longer able to make more than 10 games or so. I now go to more away games than home but would be very happy to commit £250 up front for the discounted match price and preferential choice. Good plan - get it to Nicola!
  9. Best - Oldham. Just a great honour to see your team away from home in the League, totally and utterly demolish the opposition with six different scorers from open play. That said I was not at Brighton.... Worst - Did not see us lose for once! So only Charlton really with a great turnout for a pretty poor game, ran out of beers at that sh*tty ground, conceding a late equaliser and an even later winner for us ruled out.
  10. Showed him scoring against Utd, Arsenal (away), Chelsea (away), Norwich (away to make it 4-5 in the last min in that epic game) and plenty of others, plus a string of quality tackles. Legend
  11. a handful of Championship players in the (very big squad) but spot the number of League One players. Oh yeah, just one. Get in Adam!
  12. Reading (please) as its 15 mins away; Palace - many happy memories there; Watford; Derby - too many unhappy memories there, so owe them several; Coventry - like the ground; Forest; Brighton; Blackpool (oh please!); and of course the fishy few
  13. Yep agreed. He still has a great deal to learn and while the lure of big clubs is impossible to ignore, the lessons of Walcott (went backwards and even now there are plenty of doubts), Bale (took some time before Redknapp let him play - long before anyone apart from us thought he was a world beater) and Lallana (could have moved on but secured himself a great deal and regular first team football) will not be lost on him / his father
  14. Am so badly organised. Been to York for a work meeting this morning (5am start), now in Halifax for another work meeting. Rochdale just "up t'road" but I have a train ticket back down South booked instead of a match ticket and a flaming hotel. Doh
  15. Oldham 463. So our best performance of the season was witnessed by the smallest following, some 1,000 less than usual away from home, and about 20,000 less than go to St Marys. Well, I enjoyed it!
  16. Utterly brilliant and memories will live with me for ever. I even recall the Monday Echo photo of our fans just as Monkou scored. Unbelievable scenes
  17. Yep spotted him too - quite close to him. Fair play.
  18. or its like an overbearing parent explaining something which clearly does not need to be explained?
  19. I am too flying solo so we could make it a great threesome. oh.... er, make it a great trio I mean But looks like you will be spared the torment anyway as I am working (in london) later than I want to so will have to head straight to Charlton and join the masses for a swift one or two. COYR
  20. Normally my reaction when someone turns down a loan move to a lower division is "s*d you then, rot in the reserves". But he has played 22 times apparently and they are pushing hard for the play offs so if it really is because he thinks he will get games and help the promotion cause for Reading, then fair enough
  21. Agree with most of those on here: Davies (so I understand), Keegan, Ball, Shilton. Latterly Ekelund, Pahars, M Svensson. And every time Matt signed again...
  22. Not quite. She took the house so I have to live in the car. "W5 SFC" meant all my pizza deliveries went missing so I have changed the registration to 47 Webb Close.
  23. I have one, one of the few things the ex-wife ever game me and that I did not lose in the divorce. But its not on my car currently which is just odd. sorry
