You said Spurs have a 'laddish' following and ours is full of elderly people and middle-aged drips. Thats rubbish.
-
Rubbish. But I am quite happy we get some mixed away fans, including families, middle aged women and elderly folk. Good on all of them
-
which, for their top of the table, brilliant promotion winning home game opportunity, they failed to fill last night.

This. The incidents such as the "oh Christian Dailly..you saved my life........you can sh%g my wife.." song being sung for 20 mins at Sheff Utd away a few years back stand out only because they are so rare, sadly
-
Jason Roberts was interviewed and said he wanted the team to go on and win the game on Sat to win the league. WTF?! Great goals since you joined the team but am guessing maths is not your strong point....
-
yep, this. been very impressed with McDermott each time I have heard him, seems very switched on and positive (similar to Nige). Up until this ridiculous quote that is

Yep. Moved away many years ago and not too many Saints fans live here! Sister used to join me but died at an early age last year sadly. Have seriously fallen out with brother in law and my brother is too skint to manage away games so does St Marys only. Take my lad (12) sometimes! That said, first time on my own was Oldham away - 6-0 was well worth it! Agree that most people are v friendly so always someone to chat to
-
Sorry for your loss, thinking of you. Great that the club are being so supportive. Have to say that they were excellent when my sister died (age 46) last Sept, really went the extra mile for a fan they did not know cheers for Sat

Er, no, he said he was glad to get out of SFC, because he had never been happy while at Saints, couldnt quite work out why but it was always strange and he was glad to be moving on. 1) Seemed very happy while being well paid and things were going well; 2) contrast with Crouchie who seemed genuinely sad to be leaving us. I liked him as a player, he was top quality and still think he is class. But his words on leaving were pretty sh*tty

Yes of course there are down sides, as the OP mentions, like ticket prices / ticket demand by the JCLs / the general hype / the fancy dan freeloading players who dont give a monkeys (not that we will sign any). BUT - even though it may only be now and again, the feelings I remember best are when we beat Liverpool, or Spurs, or Utd, or whoever. Way better than beating Millwall or Barnsley (sorry to them). The anticipation before we play those sort of teams is fantastic. The chance to compete at the highest level, attract better players, see our own players rise to the challenge. Thats what its about

If ..Pompey go out of the League before May...

There are TWO main issues for PFC to survive. The 1st is whether they have the cash to survive to the end of the season and fulfill all the fixtures. But the 2nd is whether they can find a buyer - they cant trade in Administration for ever. As I understand it, any buyer with any sort of medium term intention will need to rebuild the stadium (unlike SFC) and to do this, they need to buy the land around the stadium (unlike SFC) which is owned by 2 x former chairmen who are owed £20+ million. This is all on top of making an offer to the Administrator and investing in the team. My view FWIW is that they will make it to the end of the season but there must be huge doubt about any sale -
Awesome win! That is all.

When you are with your mates on the beers at a weekend, having a good time, starting around lunchtime, do you usually drink up to 2.55pm and then abstain completely for two hours, before starting again?
-
I dont really understand why Saints cant get organised for the half time rush. They would make more money - simple. Pull hundreds of pints from 30 mins into the game and have them standing ready to be served. Cricket manage to do this, to cope with the lunch time rush.
-
Dude, not sure how to break it to you but 7000 people do not use SWF, sorry
-
Does anyone else still really not like Derby? Its not hate, they are not worth that (a bit like Reading). But while it has dimmed a bit, I still want them to do badly. I think it dates back to quite a few seasons before the play off defeat and the Billy Davies nonsense, it was a series of undeserved defeats / cr@p decisions at Pride Park, and a particularly freezing cold FA Cup defeat there, again with a dodgy decision. Sorry Rams I know its odd, but I do hope we batter them for all sorts of reasons

Nigel personally made calls to Hooper's Dad twice to sound out the player's position and willingness to move. The club made two offers to Celtic. I have no way of knowing if this was all a sham and we never intended to actually go ahead and sign him, but I do know that these calls were made. Seems a very odd thing for our most senior management to do, during a transfer window and busy fixture period just "to keep fans onside" but hey
-
So that the police can laugh at their "we are so gutted we are not a big club, its not fair, we are here in our numbers and all the family brought their scarves, blah blah snooze" attitude as well? Seems odd, but whatever
-
yep they get nuffink. Like the winner against Millwall when they clattered the keeper to the floor just beforehand. Bless 'em
-
Ditto re the OT goal. The "foul" was apparently on Roy Keane. Keane did not complain at all and started walking away, gutted we had scored, when the ref disallowed it. Says it all Mind you, Shipps did score against Utd at the Dell so sort of makes up for it. Seem to remember Neil Heany jumping on his back in the celebration. The 3-1 comback against Newcastle remains one of my favourite games

Release clauses are not new! Very common in Spain and Italy. A release clause is so called because thats exactly what it is. If the club (Donny) agreed to it when they signed him, its tough if later on it appears that they should have held out for more, or not agreed at all, or whatever. A contract is a contract. Once someone matches that release clause, its down to the player and there is nothing the selling club can do about it

Les Reed does something?
-
I know he got 4 last night - hats off and all that - but he had done pretty much sod all this season before that? Leeds back four is terrible according to my season ticket holder mate
-
Also said, per the BBC post match report, that they went head to head with our full strength team, at our place, and got a draw. Er, full strength apart from Chaplow, Jos, Sharp you mean?
-
FFS He had just arrived, was part of an overall totally forgetable team performance that night, and you want to dump him into the wilderness already? Spurs signed him for a reason I assume, and Nige grabbed him on loan for a reason too. That'll do me
