Oh I get that, trust me. What I mean is that he was the product of our academy, but only made 22 appearance for us before moving to Arsenal where he was hardly a success and has achieved little of note since then (playing just 174 times in ~14 years). For me, he left way too early and we would all have been better off if he'd stayed a while longer. As you point out, there should certainly be no emotional "bring him home" crap and I just don't think he'd be that good.

A point not too shabby. This unbeaten run is remarkable but hopefully it’s not impacting the way we approach games, or how we defend leads.

Well you live in hope I guess. There's also the small matter of our away game at Ipswich. Sadly, that damaging home defeat to them (and Leicester) will probably end up being our downfall in terms of automatic promotion.

Slight difference is that Rickie was 34, and clearly past his best, when he signed for Cardiff. Ings is only 31 (a year younger than Rickie was when he left us for Liverpool). I'd love to have him back, could make all the difference in the playoffs.
