  1. You really think we believe that?! People like you only ever 'come to life' when we're "doing badly". It's really strange, but Saints have always attracted a section of fans like this - seemingly revelling in negativity - almost like 'anti-fans. For the record I don't think we'll beat Plymouth, I think it'll be a draw, but I do think we'll finish in the top two.
  2. Well put! Sick of the usual agitators trying to stir up negativity before a ball has been kicked in anger. Pathetic.
  3. Think you mean 'cliquey'. Red Stripe mundane? On The March funny?! Redstripe was by far the funniest, and most intelligent. On The March was juvenile. The UI the most 'street'. I fear the day of paper fanzines is over, but good luck to them. If I see them being sold before Plymouth I'll buy one.
  4. Believe.
  5. Indeed. Bet he does get #8 though...
  6. Presumably Pards is going to make him 'Butterfield 8'?
  7. Remember his 7 min hat trick as a makeshift striker... Hopefully a decent defender too. Useful addition to the squad.
  8. Yeah, and look how well England did wearing red this summer! I don't believe in superstitions anyway, but we have to drop this obsession with '76 or we'll never move forward (ditto England and '66!). We'll be back in red & white stripes and yellow and blue away next year I'm sure. In the meantime, enjoy the new regime, enjoy our anniversary year, and enjoy us winning the League One title... Ps everyone always ignores the fact that we lost two finals in yellow and blue too!
  9. Maybe the collar could be better - either black too or more open necked. I'm quibbling. I like it...
  10. Like it. Another winner. Funny, actually looks a bit odd without a sponsor - strange how you get used to them.
  11. Nice to have first and last games at home - and a boxing day trip to Charlton. Wonder if Plymouth will get moved for TV? Championship season starts here - we hope! COYW!!!!
  12. Think you need an option for LOVE IT! It's fantastic. Looks great, well made, traditional yet modern too. Great effort and a great way to commemorate our 125th anniversary. Well done Saints. Will definitely be buying one.
  13. Love 1, but would be better with a slightly thinner sash imho. Could live with 3 as well. No so keen on 2. Love the idea though.
  14. In answer to the original question - all we know (I think!) is that the kit will reflect the orginal kit worn by Southampton St. Mary's which I believe is white with a red diagonal. I think it's a great idea, and worked well when Arsenal moved to the maroon kit for a season. And remember, it is just a year to celebrate our 125th anniversary, so let's not get too worked up about it. Also have a penchant for kits with a diagonal, they always look classy. Also it will always be remembered fondly - as our League One Championship winning kit...
  15. Yes, of course, Wilde/Crouch/Durlieu were solely responsible for the mess we were in weren't they? Hilarious... like the "visionary one" and his deadly dutch duo never existed... But like you sway, no point going over old ground...
  16. Excellent statement. Firm, authoratitive and shows his ambition for the club. The best bit of course being his comments on him and "Alan" working together to move the club forward. Everything now in place to really take League One by storm next year. We'll be favourites, deservedly so, and will come up with the goods I reckon. Onwards and upwards!!!
  17. By the way, my original post wasn't meant to be devisive - although I understand it might possibly have been interpreted that way - today for me is just as much "thank Marcus/Nicola day" as it is "back Pardew day" (and I do think it's important that the board understand how much we believe in AP and want continuity - after all, they haven't been through the managerial dregs as we have!). So, let's thrash Southend, watch Rickie get over 30 league goals, support the boys and celebrate what on balance has been a positive season. Onwards and upwards!!
  18. Talking of looks, it occurred to me last night watching Jonathan Ross that 'Poof 1' (right hand side of picture) of "4 Poofs and a Piano" bears a passing resemblence to Pards... No doubt this has been spotted before, and apologies if so, but it is a little uncanny/disconcerting... has anyone ever seen them in the same room at the same time??
  19. Think they would have previewed on the OS if we were, but you never know. I remember that year they got two apprentices to model the new Pony Kits at half time (remember the awful one with the big tick in the desgin, red and white at home, dark and light blue away, though of course fondly remembered now for Le Tiss's goals v Newcastle, Blackburn etc.) - huge choruses of "What the ****** hell is that?, What the f***** hell is THAT?". I'm looking forward to the new kit - nice idea for the one season, and it sounds quite classy.
  20. Are we wearing the new home kit today?
  21. I think we need to show Cortese exactly what we think of Alan Pardew today - as we did at the JPT Final. He is being as deluded as Lowe if he thinks we'll find a better manager for this Division - and one with the ability to progress with us through the leagues. Okay, we haven't made the play-off's and it's hard to take, but keep AP and the nucleus of this team together and I am convinced we'll be champions next year. So, get behind Alan today in any way we can - and let's let NC and ML (if he's there) know exactly how we feel. Today should be a celebration regardless - after the last few years, this has been a GOOD season, playing great football, and scoring for fun. When's the last time we were able to say that? In Pardew we trust!
  22. Luckily it's in the Mail so we can likely discount. But I agree, Cortese needs to come out, clear the air and back Pardew, otherwise this isn't going to go away. If he thinks we are going to find a better manager at this level, then he is as mad as Lowe. Come on Nicola, do the right thing. Lose Pardew and we risk losing a number of his signings too.
  23. Must have been. Michael Wilde was there too. Also saw Lawrie Mac, Melvyn Bragg (Carlisle/Arsenal fan - not a great weekend!), and Reuben Agboola. Yes, I was in the "posh seats"! Right next to the players as they went up to get the cup, got a nice handshake from Ricky Lambert. What a great day! Added: Oh yes, and Gavyn Davies - knew I'd forgotten someone.
