Look, I know I said make them "outrageous", but let's keep some sense of sanity... tchh...

To help with the inertia and ease some Sunday boredom, I am herby starting a "scurrilous rumour" thread about our new board and new management team. Bear in mind there is absolutely no requirement to base anything in fact (I haven't), actually, the more outrageously unrealistic the better. Let Fantasy Football begin... So, I hear that the money man behind our move IS actually Paul Allen!! He has kept a watching brief on our progress (or lack of it!) since his last contact with the club (when Jim Hone told him to "shove yer dirty American money where the sun don't shine son!" - thinking it was Lee Hoos on a wind-up). Allen plans to provide the club with a war chest of £100m, to finance a return to the Premiership within 3 years, however most of this will be provided once we are back in the Champioship. SMS will be renamed "The Vulcan Astrodome". Or something. I also hear that Tony Lynam and Matt Le Tiss (CEO and Dir of Football respectively under PA) are in discussions with Louis Van Gaal and plan to snatch him away from uner the nose of Bayern Munich who had believed he was 'in the bag'. Mark Wotte may be kept on to help with putting cones out for training, collecting balls etc. More news later...

Probably get shot down for this (for them being too old) but I reckon Lee Trundle (surplus at Bristol City) would be a decent experienced buy for us. Has an excellent goalscoring record at this level. What about Gary Monk too - a bit of extra steel in defence (possibliity if Martinez moves on).

Tisdale is an old face isn't he? Albeit one that only briefly made the first team. I know little about him. Voted for Ince as I think he'll have the drive, determination and ability to take us all the way back to the top league, but whoever the new board appoint I will support (although I'll be bitterly disappointed if they just stick with Wotte!).

What is it with all this "win ratio" bow-locks?? The only thing that matters in a relegation dog-fight is your record vs. those of your immediate rivals. On this basis, Pearson was a success, as he kept us up. Wotte was a failure, as he took us down. End of.

Not sure I've ever heard such flawed logic... Leave the current incumbent to it - who wasn't well qualified for the job in the first place, was complicit in our failure, was actually at the helm when we went down (with as dispirited and disorganised a team as I have seen in 40+ years as a Saints fan) - because, erm, well he's in the job already and knows which players we have; oh and he'll be easier to get rid of when he fails. Erm, OK... So, by the same token should we call back Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde too since they "know how to run the club"?! Please, get real - there is ample time for an experienced manager to suss out who we need to keep / who we don't and identify transfer targets. In fact, I'd be amazed if we didn't already have someone lined up - and you can be sure Matty will be giving his view on our squad and potential targets. This should be one of the most exciting phases in the club's history - despite where we are, we get to "start over". In fact, scratch that, it WILL BE one of the most exciting phases... and you want to keep the guy in charge now (I won't go over his record again) because there isn't enough time to for someone new to come in? Please... you even have 19 Canteen agreeing with you - now that really should start alarm bells ringing!!!

In a word - YES it is potentially going to hurt the club. Let's stop fannying around with failed managers and start planning for the future. I for one have no wish to see us sit around mid-table in the 3rd Division, or lower, with an incompetent manager. Called me old fashioned, but I'd rather Pinnacle appointed the right man now and then lets all just GET ON WITH IT!

I think people believe Wotte walked through the doors in January for the first time - forgetting that he was complicit in the first half of the season. I agree with you though, he was an improvement on JP, but then I would have been too! I don't see any point in stability for stability's sake... that's fine if you have the right man in the job (and why I wanted to see Nigel Pearson continue, despite him only just saving us from relegation). I just do not see Wotte as that man - and he carries too much "Lowe baggage" in my book to win the majority of fans over (and us all pulling in the same direction is going to be crucial). Have to say, your apparent writing off of this season is disappointing - before we even know who our new owners is, and who our manager will be!! There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that we can't aim for a play-off place, despite our negative points start. I hope most of us have left the negative "make do and mend" Lowe years behind - time to look forward and show a bit of ambition, not write ourselves off already!! COYS!

I think Pinnacle already have someone in mind, and it wouldn't surprise me if they hadn't already lined them up. Even if they haven't they'd have a shed-load of applicants and could appoint someone ASAP. Time for Wotte to go - unless he gets offered running the academy or something. It would be a dismal mistake to appoint him and "see how he goes" - we already know he's out of his depth, as JP was - and wouldn't reflect too well on the Pinnacle team. Time for a clean break and a new era.

I'm with you there - can't understand why there's such condemnation of those who were allegedly ITK, and for some of the other bidders. Who cares?!?! Let's just get on with it now... COYS!!
