The inference in his post was clear, otherwise why bother writing it? Maybe you need to read it again.

Have you found the first five games boring? I haven’t. (The last one was painful, mind). Was there no emotion involved in the 4-4 game with Norwich? Was there no excitement in three injury time goals? Not sure I recognise the picture you’re painting of dull, event-free games?

No, but he saved about 3-4 sure goals. Overly simplistic to put goals down to the goalie. The defence in front of him was terrible.

Would have been about 8-9 with McCarthy in.

Have to say, on balance, that is a great window, one of the better ones I can recall. We’ve lost the players we expected to, plus a few we wanted to (still a few left it would have been good to offload). Whether by circumstance or design, keeping players like KWP, Che, Sulemana is incredible in this division. Let’s just hope the latter two keep their heads up and give their all (am sure Che will). if Sulemana can get in a positive headspace he will be devastating in this division. Then we’ve added a good mix of quality and experience in Downes, Charles, Harwood-Bellis, Manning, Holgate, Fraser, Stewart… top top work by Wilcox. 8/10.

I see what you did there 😉

Stuart Armstrong had the captains armband, but Bednarek had a black armband on from what I could see, not sure why. I mistook it for the captains armband at first too.

Bang on, especially point 3!! Best of luck for the rest of the season, great to see Argyll back in the Championship. You’ll be more than fine 👍

I didn’t think Plymouth were poor at all. Workmanlike maybe, but they had the better of the first half I’d argue, and never gave up - even after our late goal. They’ll more than hold their own in this division, possibly even an outside bet for the playoffs. Best kit in the league too…

Someone has been watching too many re-runs of ‘On the buses’ on ITV4… yak yak yak…

Most in the room applauded, and I certainly wasn’t shaking my head. What he and Wilcox said made perfect sense to me and I’m inclined to trust their judgement.
-
He isn’t shite though.
-
How do you know the defence lack confidence in him? And why is it his responsibility to organise a defence that is way more experienced than he is? Feels like he’s carrying the can for a less than capable defence…

I have the link, but due some reason this site never lets me post URLs. I’ll try to send to you via message if I can.

The arrogance of underestimating your opposition… and picking a ludicrous line-up.

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25

Tommy Dobson-Ventura has headlines written for him already. He sounds ace. -
Possibly right. Though, like our board interviewing Nathan Jones, sometimes your instincts - when you sit across a desk from someone - should tell you all you need to know…

Still beggars belief that that guy from Begbie Traynor saw the Mickey ‘Fiasco’ consortium not only as genuine, but the best offer😳. It was literally his job to assess the authenticity of each bitter. Incredible that we might have lost the Liebherr bid due to his incompetence.

Turned out to be a rather prescient post!!

Had this conversation in the pub on Friday… who is actually keeping the good ship SFC on course at the moment? Whatever we thought of Semmens - he knew how to run a club operationally. I believe Henrik Kraft is nominally CEO at the moment but don’t believe he has any experience of running a football club (isn’t he more of an investor type?) - which is a specialist skill these days. The level of turnover we’ve had - my to mention SR being focussed on buying Valenciennes - hasn’t helped either. With so many in new positions (and with many yet to be filled) continuity is going to be challenging to say the least. I’m not sure Wilcox is even in situ yet(?) - who is overseeing player sales / purchases? Let’s also not forget that JW is stepping up into a broader, more senior DoF role too, albeit at a smaller club. Reflecting, pretty much every major decision SR have made this far has been flawed at best, catastrophic at worst (ref. the last two managerial appointments). Not sure how much faith I have that they have the capability to keep things running smoothly with so much change going on. How about that for an upbeat pre-season post?! 😂😫
