There is nothing between them. One gets wall-to-wall abuse, the other silence.
-
Because you know what we’re capable of… and when you hear things like “xxx haven’t won at home yet…” you know, like the rest of us, exactly what is going to happen…🫣
-
Don’t know, why do they?
-
Just applying exactly the same logic that is applied Bazunu. If he’d have been in goal there would have been hell to pay with exactly the same set of circumstances.
-
There you go again…
-
Amazing. Ever considered a career in satire? You’re wasted on here…
-
Armstrong gets about 1 in 5 shots on target, let alone with the requisite power…
-
Criminal also that SR didn’t buy a recognised and effective Championship striker, and the strikers we do have are goddam awful…
-
I’d say Stephens & Downes are a must… need a bit of grit & leadership.
-
Footnote: City had 4 shots on target & scored 3 goals. If Bazunu had been between the sticks there would be outrage about this. Since it’s McCarthy… tumbleweed (putting aside the farcical second goal too!). [Braced for “yeah but it would have been 6-1 with Bazunu in goal” comments]

I’d say that’s on the players…

Part of me wonders if there was a ‘sliding doors’ moment when he missed that chance v Wrexham (that Jack converted). Would have been an instant hero, confidence sky high… maybe things would have been totally different for him (given how important confidence is for strikers). We’ll never know…
-
But he’d still have the striker problem, and no guarantee he’d be able to circumnavigate that either. I’d hope the board invest in a proven striker in Jan (but who knows with this lot), then perhaps we can properly judge. I acknowledge the jury is out on Still, but I’m not convinced just changing manager again solves the problem.

Thankfully he’s off to Forest I hear.
-
Serious question - who do you want to replace him?
-
Yeah, it’s mad… I’d have sworn he was here for a couple of years. He actually only played for us 18 times. Very decent goalie. https://www.saintsplayers.co.uk/player/maik-taylor/

Absolutely pointless sacking him. This season will be a learning curve and time for development. Play-offs not out of the question, but do we really want to get promoted and be humiliated again next season? I won’t turn down promotion if it comes, but in some ways continuing to develop and going up stronger the year after might be a better outcome.
-
To be replaced by who?
-
Re Downs - why even have him on the bench? I’d much rather have Robinson who has a chance of coming on and doing something.
-
I still hate that dwarf Billy Davies…
-
I don’t think he has. He might have given them a pen, but he’d definitely have got himself in front of the ball…
-
The ‘hit’ wasn’t the issue though, it was the way he ‘ushered’ the striker toward goal without the slightest of challenges. Maybe he was worried about a pen on contact, but still, a good defender has to be able to position their body without fouling the attacker. I thought it was diabolical (and if Stephens had done it this place would be lit up!). I can forgive the odd stray pass - there was a couple - but he was also at fault for their ‘equaliser’ too, losing the striker. Thankfully we got away with that one. Against all of that, he’s young and still learning, and he’s clearly got potential, I just don’t see him as an automatic starter atm.

Can we keep posting these please… every time they appear we score!

That’s exactly what they’d expect us to do… #FiveDimensionalChess

Should have been hooked the minute he did that.
