  1. Come the revolution, laddie...
  2. Of course, but apart from that too. EDIT: I see Lallana is injured. A few seasons ago a player of his relative stature in the team, being injured, would have hit me like a punch to the breadbasket. Today, barely a wince. That stomach toning must be working.
  3. Of course, but apart from that too.
  4. Well yes, but apart from that too.
  5. I'm not sure I'd want the confuzzled to vote, but I see your point.
  6. The trick is Pancake, is that this has already been experimented on in reality, during the 1970's. The findings then indicated that not putting the clocks back was quite beneficial to the country as a whole. Reports you can reject. Proper evidence to the effect is a bit more difficult. And nobody is suggesting we put the clocks forward at the end of March, but that could be an option.
  7. Have to admit my reasons for dropping in on the Saints Web are largely not Saints related nowadays.
  8. Poll set up in the Lounge. Go and do your stuff as it's only on for 3 days: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=3777
  9. Robsk, it's entirely obvious that you're a very fair minded bloke, and in the field you work in, you have to be. I am of a similar mind as you, and not subject to irrational statements, even provoked by the worst circumstances. But this gets very near to what is manageable for a person to bear. Of course, it is not about what we want to do to this individual, but what is right and just. But it is very hard. If we were all bad people it wouldn't be.
  10. Yes, this weekend is the last in October, and so the annual ritual of putting the clocks back from British Summer Time [BST] to Greenwich Mean Time [GMT] has come around again this Sunday morning in the traditional effort to make the mornings lighter. But a great many people wonder each year why we still have to do this..? An experiment 40 years ago found that not putting the clocks back was beneficial. It was only stopped by complaining Scots, yet today, special allowances could be made for them, as happens in Scandanavia. Must we live in the dark ages for 6 months every year..? Yet again, there is a report on some study that supports us NOT putting the clocks back. These come along on an annual basis, it seems too. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article4992686.ece But the Govt, when asked the question in Parliament says that there is no public demand for a change from the present setup. So, in that case, what do we think..?
  11. It's a serious subject, so it's probably best put in the Lounge. But consider it done... eventually.
  12. I'm still numb. I've checked. Amazingly, I didn't feel a thing. I think a lot of Saints fans are in that frame of mind at present. Let me read it on the OS, and see if I get a twinge. [1 minute later] Yeah, it got a reaction. Obviously, I'm still a Saints fan. I was beginning to wonder.
  13. Have a look at this: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article4992686.ece
  14. I can stomach that...just. Anyway, isn't it just a rumour..? Rumours involving Saints are legion. I'm numbed by them all.
  15. If only it was extra. I'd sacrifice 2 hours in the mornings to tack onto the evenings. Why, oh why we still have to suffer this god awful BST to GMT for 6 months of the year, is beyond my comprehension. It's even worse for the environment ffs.
  16. Please, please... just don't. I enjoyed my lunch today, but I don't want to see it again.
  17. I feel sick.
  18. Something hot with my name on it:
  19. I've counted myself lucky that I haven't heard of Peggy's sister in Eastenders up until now. But thanks for the info, anyway. Now at least I can answer the question: Who is Sal related to in Eastenders, and what is her connection..? But any other question about Eastenders and I'm clueless too, as I usually make an active effort not to know things about soap operas.
  20. Poor little child. I daren't think about it for too long, it's so very sad. IMO, he won't survive in prison. One day someone will get to him. And I suspect the prison officers might look the other way too. Even hardened criminals have a line that they don't cross, and this person has crossed it.
  21. Aha, you've very quickly hit on the weakness of the Big Bang theory. It's reckoned that all time started with the Big Bang. Scientists talk about fundamental gases that coalesced before the Big Bang. Oops, did I say before..? Isn't that not allowed if the celestial clock isn't ticking..? Science twists and turns to make things fit in convenient boxes when it is unsure or even unknowing about how things work. Once there were Fixed Stars and the Universe revolved around the Earth, and scientists were as sure of those truths as we are of our truths today. For my money, the Big Bang theory has a lot going for it, but let's not think for more than one moment that it is the whole answer. I believe there are physical laws in the universe as yet undiscovered which explains how it came to be. IMO, we're just too unaware and unimaginative to contemplate what they are at present. The data isn't in. Scientists talk a lot about the mass of the universe, and how big it is, and what shape it is. But that is to define barriers to it. And if that is the case, what's on the other side..? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_bang
  22. Just like us with Steaua Bucharest, it's a bit of a shock playing against European opposition, in mainland Europe.
  23. Jimmy Melia, you're breaking our hearts You're shaking our confidence daily Jimmy Melia, we're down on our knees We're begging you please to score a goal Oh oh oh. Nana Na Na Nana Na Na A Hey Yeah Micky Channon [or any other Saints player you can think of]
