  1. I'm going to knock it on the head there. Nighty-night. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Color [as in the film, not the colour]

  4. Star Trek - First Contact Wrote a half decent review that I'd really thought about, on a friend's PC, earlier this evening. Went to submit it, and bloody IE logged me out, and then didin't remember the text in the window. I bloody HATE Internet Explorer nowadays. Wish I'd written it here, on Firefox. At least if I'd been logged out it would have remembered the text. Anyway, I liked this film a lot, but I'm not writing the whole bloody thing out again. Bollix..!

  6. You didn't tell me you had a bike, Ponty. I like that. I nice little scratcher. Something you can zip about on. Now if it had a 500cc single in that frame, then it would definitely be nice. BTW, you're not at the complete mercy of car drivers. You learn to have the ability, first to read who the idiots are, and secondly, to steer well clear of them. Lightning acceleration helps.
  7. Ah well, we move on. Sorry you didn't get the connection. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Itch
  8. Nothing at all. I said, I'll set it up. Your In and my Solvent, makes insolvent, which makes a great feed for Pompey. Get it..? Have another go, just this once... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In solvent
  9. Anybody still confused over the complete list of players, here they are from the Daily Echo item: Contracts Jon Otsemober - Keep Graeme Murty - Sorry Graeme. Ah bollix, keep him if we stay in L1 Chris Perry - Sorry Chris, let go Bartosz Bailkowski - Keep Wayne Thomas - Keep Olly Lancashire - Let go Kayne McLaggon - Keep Michael Poke - Let go Simon Gillett - Let go Anthony Pulis - Let go David Connolly - Keep Loans Papa Waigo - Sign Michail Antonio - Sign Sorry to have stepped on your toes, so to speak, with my thread, David.
  10. You're right. I missed it. Peeps, go there. This thread is closed. Use it for the list if you wish.

  12. Reading the Daily Echo earlier, and it talked about 13 players up for contract renewal or their loans are expiring. They include: Contracts Jon Otsemober Graeme Murty Chris Perry Bartosz Bailkowski Wayne Thomas Olly Lancashire Kayne McLaggon Michael Poke Simon Gillett Anthony Pulis David Connolly Loans Papa Waigo Michail Antonio So, who should be Out, and who's In, in your opinion..?
  13. I can categorically inform you that Ponty certainly doesn't want a bike. He told me he had a bad time with one in his late teens or early twenties. A few nasty comings off, IIRC. Nothing to do with his competence, I assure you. That is one thing about bikes. Treat 'em right and they reward you with thrills a car driver can only imagine. Treat 'em wrong and you're down the road on your arse or worse, especially with all these tin boxes on wheels taking up all the space. They bite.

  15. Pay It Forward As a break from Star Trek, what is it about Kevin Spacey..? Why is any film he is in, twice as good as it ought to be. The worst film I can remember seeing him in is K-Pax, and he made that passable. Every other film I've seen him in has had something about it. American Beauty was utterly brilliant. The Weather News is a really great film. Glengarry Glen Ross, and loads of others. And this film is one of them too, if you take away the ending, which is smaltzy sh!t of the worst kind. This sort of thing may be perfectly fine for a film like Field of Dreams or It's a Wonderful Life but it doesn't fit here. No wonder the film bombed. Word obviously got around, in more ways than one. Even the USA can stand only so much sugar pill. It's a shame, because this is a good film which uses its premise to examine the finer feelings of people, and how understanding a fellow human's frailties helps a person to help another, and therefore it helps the helper too. It doesn't hurt the film a jot that one of my favourite actresses in Helen Hunt plays the opposite female lead. Of course, the film centres on that annoyingly excellent child actor [at the time], Haley Joel Osment, and he is very good again. But I can't overlook that ending. Pretty good film, which isn't good enough to ride out the terrible ending.
  16. Agreed, the Ducati is a beaut. Nice price too, I don't think. I've got nothing against the MV either. Very nice indeed. Tbh, I'd never buy a brand new machine anyway. Besides, there are some lovely bikes out there that are 5-10 years old, that haven't been mistreated, and are perfectly good machines for everyday riding. I mentioned one, the V-twin 1000cc Firestorm. There's my pre-Vtec VFR800Fi, which a lovely bike. There's more Fireblades than you can shake a stick at, and there are Yamaha R1s, R6s, nice Fazers, etc.. Tbh, motorcyclists are spoilt for choice, and that's without even trying to sample the European, British, and err... American bikes. OK, perhaps we'll leave Harleys and Victorys to the cruiser contingent.
  17. Was on the BBC1 News a short time ago, although I didn't see the full item. I suspect an explanation might be on the BBC News website. Utterly crazy though.
  18. That's is interesting. I did vaguely know about the F1 engine being virtually siezed at cold. One presumes that internal friction at normal running temperatures is almost non-existent though.
  19. And what will that do..?
  20. Prices are as high as the market will bear. We seem to be able to bear a lot without kicking up a fuss. I can't be alone in being astounded that during last year, when the recession was supposed to have been so bad, that fuel prices were still relatively high. So if anyone has any doubts that the recession is not over, then look to the price of petrol.
  21. Hokey Pokey
  22. As I can't afford to go regularly, and therefore don't have a worthwhile opinion, all I can work out from the data and radio commentary is that we don't win enough. Tell me I'm wrong.
  23. Wasn't sure whether this anything to do with Saints at first, but I've worked it out now. It should be TMS, but I'll bung it in General Sports.
