  1. I'd rephrase that as... After looking at the re-run of the MK Dons game, the foul on Fonte looks a little bit soft. But a foul all the same. Penalty. Yep, Fonte won that penalty. But the arm-around-the-neck-penalty that wasn't given, is all in the checks and balances. Sadly, we have to resort to this kind of thinkng because there is no allowable video evidence. If you want to stamp out diving and cheats, bring in the cameras. I don't know how many times we have to say the obvious before people understand.
  2. As the word association thread had it, a few words back. Perhaps you have to use a little discipline, and get rid of some of those crappier IE favourites.

  4. Try using IE, and see what you get. Now I wouldn't want to condemn you to a lifetime of IE, so if you get any improvement [difficult to imagine, I know], then uninstall Firefox and clean install the latest edition. Oh, and get all your latest bookmarks over to IE so that you can import them to Firefox again, when all is well. HTHs.
  5. Why not just settle for a Saints tattoo..?
  6. Thread merged. Best of both worlds. In fact, all of both worlds.
  7. Balls..! Missed it. Someone could have flagged it up that it was starting.
  8. Folly now plays for League Two side, Dagenham & Redbridge.

  10. or try believers, for both.
  11. I'm quite happy with Millwall beating Leeds. All the teams above us beating each other means nobody gets away. All we have to make is 6th place, not 3rd. It's unlikely, but still possible.
  12. Having been alerted to your posts, I can see that you are possibly being needlessly negative, I think. We're not going to catch Millwall. Perhaps we never were. However, there are 3 other teams in the playoffs and Colchester are definitely starting to wobble. Just below them, Huddersfield and MKDons are on unstable ground, at present. But you carry on. I've no doubt you could find the cloud in a whole sky of silver linings. Yes, we are not trying to catch Huddersfield or MKDons [or Bristol Rovers], but to leapfrog them. But they still have to play some of the top 6 teams, which means they can possibly undermine them without potentially pushing Saints out of a top 6 place. It's unlikely, but it's possible. Don't set yourself for disappointment, so that the let down is easier. That's not the way to support a team.
  13. Hmm, an escape from relegation. I prefer the 1983-84 season where despite having Steve Williams injured for the run-in, Saints gained 6 wins and 4 draws. They lost the first 2 without Stevie, and then went on their run. Try this for size: Leicester [H] 2-2 Everton [H] 3-1 West Ham [H] 2-0 Watford [A] 1-1 Coventry [H] 8 [Eight] - 2 Stoke City [A] 1-1 Spurs [H] 5-0 Brum City [A] 0-0 WBA [A] 2-0 Notts County [A] 3-1 It took them to within 3 points of Liverpool and 2nd place. Ironically, it was losing to relegated Notts County at home, the previous year, that possibly cost Saints the title that season. Same old Saints. As for the other teams in this division, this season. There are plenty of slip-ups to be had. We're not out of it yet.

  21. If your tapes were recorded by you, you will have no problems. If they are pre-recorded tapes, then you may have problems with a normal stand alone HDD/DVD recorder. The trick is to use a computer with a TV/Tuner/Capture card instead, because most recording/copying software doesn't care whether there's a code or not. Besides, in my experience, a PC's DVD writer e.g. an NEC 2510A, writes better and more stable DVDs than most stand alone recorders.
  22. Hence my question of his beverage habits.
  23. BBC website shows Lambert with 25 league goals. Plus the 5 in the Cups, means the magic 30. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/top_scorers/default.stm
  24. There's always a little more on the website than in the League show. We'll see what extra they've included this time: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8560619.stm
  25. Can I suggest you look back over this thread..? Part of the reason for its existence is to inform on good and bad books in the opinion of the poster.
