I suggested to fellow Saints supporters, early last season, that there was a significant anti-Lowe feeling building to stay away from St Marys. The reaction I got was that this was utter piffle. Supporters may have hated Lowe, but they would never stay away in numbers, I was told. I still think it was significant, and not all because of the poor form.

Some of these links seem pretty bloody tenuous to me. If they are a bit remote, perhaps people could add a little explanation..? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Life

Sadly Pancake, you really will have to get a certificated electrician to do the work. However, do make sure they really do know what they are up to. My brother had his kitchen rewired shortly after the new regs came in, and the recommended electricians were terrible in their excecution of the work. I saw the aftermath, and a cowboy electrician with his eyes shut could have done better. In the end, my brother asked me to make good all the balls ups. In short, get someone in you can trust.

Before I voted, I had to clarify a few things in my head, as to the fixtures and form of the other teams involved in the promotion fight. The thing is, the other teams DON'T have to go on a bad run. Results DON'T necessarily have to go our way. The teams above Saints have to play each other and, win, lose or draw, they will compromise themselves because of that. If the balance of results goes according to quality, form and league position, then Saints will finish in 7th place, 1 point outside of the playoffs, but with Brighton to play at Withdean. Of course, Saints cannot trip themselves up anymore, which is the big caveat. And before you ask, yes, I did the BBC Predictor yet again [it is getting less tedious with every interval], which makes it the 4th time, by now. We beat Brighton, and we are there. Suprisingly, a draw would be enough. Anyway, with the help of a bit of picture editing, I've added the final game to the total, with a 2-1 result. BTW, I voted YES, to.. Can Saints get to the playoffs..? Yes they can. Will they..? Is another matter. Click on the thumbnail to look at the pretty table.

Football League Show 27/02/10 & 13/03/10, It Seems

Well that wasn't worth staying up for. Nice goal though. The disallowed goal is a perfectly good one, in my book. Only the ref saw that one, I feel. I'll have another look when the extended highlights [probably more Simon Grayson] get on the BBC Saints webpage. But to my mind, TT was right. 2-0. -
You're right there. Such a shame that there is a thread already on the main board which covers this subject. Otherwise, we'd have a first.

Football League Show 27/02/10 & 13/03/10, It Seems

Should be interesting when the iplayer edition comes up, as Saints V Leeds is supposed to be the featured game of League One. BTW, I've edited the title. You lot are a thrifty bunch, at times. -
100 up for Anders...

Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home For me, this is the one which most resembles a TV episode. It is light, humourous, and moral in the Star Trek way. I suppose you either like the ethics of Star Trek or you don't. I honestly can't dislike a canon that has always set out to be entertaining and thought provoking, and not just bang, bang, you're dead. Besides, I always get a giggle out of Spock attempting to spice his language with colourful metaphors. In this case it captured the feelings of the time, and I can't think of a more positive piece of fiction which helped the anti-whaling cause. After the film came out, suddenly, ordinary people in the western world, stopped being indifferent to whaling, and the feeling has never really gone away. Well they saved 23rd century Earth and the Humpback whales, and everyone lived happily ever after. The hell, it's good entertainment.

Nothing wrong there, for me. Papa brings a different danger and keeps the defence off-balance. Good substitution.

It's fouls awarded, not committed. On the Puncheon front, it was the player, who couldn't settle in and around Plymouth, who asked to be loaned out, I believe.

Can you not go here..? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8565161.stm If you wish to have a copy, then all you have to do is play it and record the wav, mp3, wma, etc... output on your computer. Then save the file. Simple.

Oh yes sir, it can. It's that ugly word, called rumour. And that's all it was, whether people thought they were in-the-know, or not.
-
Basically, it never was a 3yr plan. I must admit, I never read or heard Cortese mention a 3yr plan anywhere before. All I heard about was a 5yr plan, and so it has proved.

Must we have a thread like this every few days or weeks..? Thinking about it, probably yes. On the playoff front, it isn't in a our hands just yet. If the teams above us keep doing what they are doing, we won't make the playoffs. If they don't keep doing what they are doing, then there is every chance, because I expect the lower teams of the top six to trip themselves up. After all, they have lower points totals because they have tripped up earlier in the season. It may happen again. Saints must win pretty much every game though. And yes, it is possible.

Just listening again to Solent's repeat broadcast. I'd forgotten that NC offered to PAY FOR THE STEWARDING AT WEMBLEY STADIUM, so that Saints fans could get as many tickets as they wanted. He suggested that Saints fans alone, could fill Wembley Stadium, without the Carlisle contingent.

Is Dan Harding the Saints unsung hero..? He always puts in a good performance. He occasionally chips in with goals. He's good on the overlap. What more can you want from an LB..?
-
Yeah, that always give one the jitters, a bit, especially with Saints recent history of the last 5 or 6 years. But at least it has only taken 6 or so months for that feeling to start to dissipate. With Jaidi and Fonte at the back, against any League One opposition, if you can't be fairly confident, you never will be.
-
Everybody who has seen the disallowed goal, so far, has commented that the actual foul was on Fonte, and not committed by Jaidi. However, the ref saw it differently.
-
Tbf, he was almost correct. Saints had the ball in the back of the net twice. TT may have disagreed with the ref over our disallowed goal.
