  1. Do you live in Southampton?
  2. Indeed after he joined us from Burnley it took about 6 months before he found his feet. His game thrives on confidence
  3. Err - he has played upfront for the U21s for the last two seasons solidly. You seem very quick to be the smart arse these days, it does not become you.
  4. I agree, our contempt for them is something that unifies us in times of dullness.
  5. As we are short in the forward dept maybe give him a game up front if Bertrand is full-back?
  6. Too many more worried about their half time pies
  7. If Bertrand comes back maybe give McQueen a go up front - after all he was until this summer a striker
  8. Inter's reaction to the penalty was the worst gamesmanship I have ever seen and the referee's weakness in letting them get away with it was possibly the worst refereeing I have ever witnessed. If that had happened in the Premier League Inter would have been on a charge and the ref banished to beneath Conference level. I felt for Tadic having to wait through all the crap but penalty takers have to have mental strength and I don't think he has enough of that to be a spot kick taker. The win was so sweet because of the injustice at the San Siro and the antics of the Italian players last night but I still think we are a decent striker light. Oh although I am not a fan I thought JWP was magnificent last night..
  9. If that's true then I assume the club will soon be making a reassuring statement?
  10. Trousers will be having orgasims
  11. Why do the Liebherr family "need" investors? Serious question.
  12. That's me f***** then!
  13. I haven't been calling for Sam's recall at all, far from it, he is better off where he is, certainly on a personal level. What I am saying though is we could have used the likes of someone like Sam right now because Olomola is so raw and unready. Barnes and Seagar's injuries have exposed us and that is why I question why you expressed your contentment that all was well in our forward dept. Having seen our forwards struggle in Israel and misfire in Italy I think my worries are understandable.
  14. So having Olomolo on the bench is acceptable? He has barely played a game for the U21s. Not knocking the lad but its very much bare bones and you see nothing wrong?
  15. Good points raised there. Clasie is a worry and Tadic needs to be more central for sure
  16. Prior to the away fixture the prevalent view was Milan were not interested and we would win. Ok not everyone are saying the same now but have see. Quite a few "we should win" comments.
  17. Feel a bit sorry for Martina, we paid a million for him as cover and he is expected to handle the likes of Hazard and Costa. Milan won't be the pushovers everyone are predicting.
  18. In normal times if they are good enough I would be fine but I see a really good chance of progressing in Europe floundering because our squad is too thin. Yes we have been unlucky with injuries, but the fact we have so many international call ups has been another factor to be considered. I know I talk with the benefit of hindsight but we gambled on Jay Rod staying fit and now we have been exposed to the extent we have had a complete rookie on the bench at the San Siro and again yesterday. Take the point no one decent would have come to act as fifth cover but with Seagar a long term injury and Gallagher going on loan it would have been prudent to have got someone like Lambert in on a years contract is all I am saying. Sounds like I'm moaning and blaming Puel, I'm not, he has done a fine job but perhaps his lack of in depth knowledge of the personal at SMS has cost us.
  19. This is going to be controversial but a club of our stature should not have to resort to having the likes of Olomola on the bench for a tie of such magnitude. Nothing against him, he is a young lad learning his trade, but we should have thought bigger during the window taking into consideration the two a week games and the fact there were lots of internationals this autumn. By January when the window opens our chance could have gone. Our bench today exposed our lack of ambition in the market last summer!
  20. I agree, it was so frustrating watching Sam make runs and the ball never arriving. But life is good for him. He is thriving up there, he has a manager who believes in him (in contrast to one at SFC who never bothered to even speak to him) and he is developing nicely. I am biased but I think he is a real prospect, just hope Sam can be persuaded Saints are the right club for him should a new contact be offered.
  21. Coyle rates him as a Premiership standard forward and was gushing in the post match interview.
  22. I just wish our squad was a teeny bit bigger. We are doing very well but can't help feeling we are down to our bare bones now.
  23. Gawd are we lightweight upfront? Our big mistake in the window was not getting in that extra forward
