  1. Fair observation Ron, point taken
  2. Excellent result against a hard team to beat but just to be a little different I am going to mention a couple of areas where I felt we could improve on. In the light of three points gained I am nitpicking I accept but it doesn't harm to look at ways to make us better. 1. Tadic's crossing is very poor and so was Clyne's yesterday 2. Pelle does not seem to win many headers with his back to goal 3. We still lack a "clinical" finisher - too many chances are being wasted.
  3. Good we will need him soon as Pelle already has 3 yellow cards
  4. Congrats to Hampshire, they have just beaten Glamorgan and are promoted as Champions back to the First Division of cricket.
  5. I think having read the whole article top to bottom he makes some quite sane observations.
  6. Lambert on loan to cover for Pelle's inevitable forthcoming suspension (3 bookings already)
  7. Why wait until Dec/Jan until starting contract talks with Cork? Something is not adding up for me.....something we are not being told?
  8. Yes but increasing your active fan base is no bad thing. A larger stadium attracting more fans prepared to pay the lower prices may not boost profits short term but will be the equivalent of throwing down ground bait when starting to fish.
  9. The abuse you could give the linos was sensational and Keegan reckoned he saw a little old woman trip one up with a brolly
  10. He is still active on Twitter and posted a photo of his leg in a brace about a month ago so I think his injury is a physical one but the club don't seem to want to comment or perhaps just have sort of forgotten him.
  11. The Guardian on Saturday said it was a knee problem with no comeback date given. It is a bit strange that the club have not said anything at all.
  12. proof of the 41 passes http://wall.saintsfc.co.uk/Article/783223-VIDEO-Schneiderlins-stunner-caps-41-pass-move
  13. The fact that Cork has not been even offered a contract Steve must tell us something. Probably he has informed the club he intends to run down his contract. Probably because Pochettino did not fancy him and while new contracts were offered to the likes of Puncheon, Jack was left out. I like him, he is underrated and if RK can somehow persuade him to re-engage with his new look Southampton then we can yet prosper from keeping him.
  14. You are missing some massive stalwarts from the 50s like Eric Day, Tommy Traynor and even 40s England international Bill Ellerington who gave us over 30 years service as player and asst manager/coach
  15. infraction request!
  16. Yea but I don't think Franny ever fitted into the mega bucks wages bracket. The guy is a modest man doing his bit when he could sit back on his couch and do nothing
  17. Andy as someone else has commented elsewhere don't beat yourself about passing on the fact the club is for sale. I think you will find most clubs are "available" if the right price could be found but some owners are in no particular rush. I am just about to move into a new house so selling it is the last thing on my mind, but if someone rang me up and offered me a £1m for it, I would bite their hand off. Ever since Cortese arrived I have heard we are up for sale so the rumour you heard was just another regurgitation probably. The positive news for me is that KL seems to have found a genuine affection for the club, judging by the nos of away matches she attends and the fact that her director box enthusiasm is there for all to see.
  18. Hooiveld came to us on loan with a clause to buy at the end but we brought him before his loan was up
  19. People doing the banner must be under 30?
  20. Incidentally I was talking to Bert Shelley's son today who himself is 83, what a story he told me about his father's enlistment in the 1st World War.
  21. And why no Terry Paine? Whoever organises the banner has no idea of our heritage. To be frank Shilton and Keegan should be nowhere near it. Big players on the national stage, yes but hardly massive servants of the club. Bill Ellerington, Eric Day, Tommy Traynor, John Sydenham, Nick Holmes are just a few post war players while pre war players have to include Bill Rawlings, Arthur Dominy and Bert Shelley.
  22. Big Ron should be there without a doubt
  23. Blimey some intelligent debate
