  1. YEEESSS - What a GOAL!
  2. What was Jos doing? Followed their front man behind our defensive line and opened up space - looked decidedly weird...
  3. Some of his flick-ons and passes weren't as perfect as usual - mind you, he's a beast in that department, so I expect the best from him
  4. How the h*ll have we come back in this game? Lambert isn't really playing his best, but the goal was a beauty. COYS!!!
  5. Tonight I'd agree. In the Championship there were lots of difficult games, but you never went into a game fully expecting a defeat. Tonight it's just hopeless - sensibly we've set our stall out to defend and predictably Chelsea find a way to chalk up a few goals anyway. Stamford Bridge is silent as a grave as the football isn't very attractive from either side. Bah. We take 45 minutes more, but this is just plain boring compared to e.g. the Villa game...
  6. You have to give credit to Chelsea as well. For once they played excellent football and we actually got people back to defend. Morgan's block was vital, Yoshida's was kamikaze-class. And I think I just saw Luke Shaw own Mata completely... Oh and 2-0
  7. Excellent control from JRod!
  8. We didn't take our chances of clearing properly and that was an excellent finish. Think it took a deflection off Yoshida which would excuse Boruc. Ba is really not good to us these days
  9. True. It may also well be that these players are mentally stronger than we think, and that Jos is confident in his own abilites regardless of the unfortunate start to the season. It's not a given fact that he is a bag of nerves
  10. Well shielded from Jos. I'd assume he needs a few good actions to build up confidence - please let him have a good game...
  11. Makes perfect sense to try something different than being a distant second to Chelsea in every department. Our 4-2-3-1 will probably look like a 4-5-1 today and Rodriguez will do a lot of desperate running... Key is how Guly and Punch will cope with protecting Clyne and Shaw without getting sucked into the defensive line...
  12. Sørensen would be an unlikely target; he is doing well at Bologna so the 50% ownership from Juventus is perfect for them. He is developing as a player and they still hold ownership over him.
  13. Off to ruin things for Dan Harding once again?
  14. You know why Pompey won't take advice from us? Because they have trust issues... (gets coat, walks off)...
  15. On Gillett: "Clearly too clued up, within days of returning to England, he departed for a trial at Barnsley before joining Nottingham Forest." Quite telling, really. The remaining players weren't too clued up then, I presume?
  16. Reluctantly, I would have to agree with this, especially 1). It's not inconcievable that he could have moved his right foot away from the tackle and still continued forwards without falling... I see it as a dive. 3 points feel dirty, but goooooood
  17. We sure know when to pick up points: http://stats.football365.co.uk/dom/ENG/PR/vtophalf.html http://stats.football365.co.uk/dom/ENG/PR/vbothalf.html 0/3/7 against teams in the top 10 (draws against Swansea, Stoke and Arsenal), while 5/3/3 (defeats against Wigan, West Ham and Sunderland) against bottom 10. Old school Saints survival stats straight out of the 90's!
  18. I saw Pearl Jam at Roskilde in 2000. Worst concert ever.
  19. Bad publicity for Saints: http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/cheat-jay-rodriguez-is-the-premier-leagues-latest-shameful-diver-as-aston-villa-lose-to-southampton/
  20. What a win. We started out nervously but clawed our way in to the game. Goal should never have been but it was not against the run of play. 2nd half saw Villa dominate from start to end - we did have a few bright moments that could have killed off the game, but all things considered (injuries especially) we were professional in closing out the game. That said, Villa should have scored a few today, but that wasn't to be... COYS!!! League table looks tasty now!
  21. Fox and SDR - not the left flank I had hoped for. Prove me wrong, boys!
  22. Makes sense to take off a tiring, creative midfielder for a defensive left midfielder. Shutting up shop, getting fresh legs in there.
  23. Punch causing all sorts of problems for Villa now...
  24. I'd put on Davis for Lambert now. Lambert lying really deep atm...
