  1. "The likes of Greg Halford, David Norris, Erik Huseklepp and Dave Kitson have sacrificed money owed to them by leaving Pompey in recent weeks. And Birch also pointed to the local businesses and non-football creditors who have effectively written off the debts to try to keep Pompey afloat. He said: ‘Many of his (Ben Haim’s) former team-mates were in the same situation, yet made big sacrifices and showed the club is more important than any individual. ‘Many non-football creditors, some small local businesses, have also told me that they’d be willing to take a personal financial hit in order to keep the club going." What a travesty. So when the clubs creditors are forced into the most scrappy CVA ever, they are also being used to showcase how much they love the club and want to fight for it? Please, this is sickening...
  2. My only guess is that you won't get a "clean cut" anytime soon. It's always going to be a tangled mess where some say they've gotten away with it (for not being liquidated) while others point out that struggling in League One/Two with all the leeches still hanging on is not getting away with anything
  3. With your extensive training, you could be a professional gun-jumper
  4. Would someone be so kind to reply that if we say £150M over 3 years, then Pompey have ripped off creditors for £100/minute of the last three years!!!
  5. Ouch! http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/golazo-jeremain-lens-psv-v-ajax/
  6. Open them in an image editor and save them for web. Experiment a little with the quality - often you can't tell the difference between 80% or 100% when it's a smaller picture on a website. The will reduce picture size drastically! If you have no image editor, pick up something simple and free like Irfan - http://www.irfanview.com/
  7. I realise you like to use that law to make a clear distinction between slapping and abuse - but is it really that clear? I should think that a law stating that you cannot lay hands on children would be clearer than some arbitrary rule saying that it's ok as long as you don't leave a mark. What is defined as leaving a mark - a mark for 5 minutes? An hour? Days? Are marks all over the body treated equally (I guess a good punch to the liver might not really leave a mark)? Just as most Norwegian parents secretly smack their children then English parents must know all sorts of great tricks to deliver pain with no marks, right? (not trying to provoke, just going with that previous example ...) It's good to hear that the law helps you make a clear distinction, but I'm not sure it's the case for every parent... it leaves too much leeway for powerless parents to try to control their children within the boundaries of the law...
  8. Managed to sign up for a proxy service, so now I can enjoy the BBC web player. Hello olympics!
  9. I'm now officially an Omnium JCL!
  10. Only saw that interview just now - just wow. You seldomly see the interviewer having to console the interviewed...
  11. Oh, while you're here - Clancy is the favourite you say, but who else excel at the 1km TT?
  12. I'll take your word for it. I couldn't recognize a good effort in that discipline, but it looked like he really gave it his all. Fingers firmly crossed for some sort of medal for him - as stated a few times already, we need all we can get
  13. Did you see the Danish rider in the Omnium who was in thrid place before their 5th event? He crashed and had to get a new bike - his suit was torn in several places and he had some nasty abrasions(?). For some reason he managed to end in 6th place in the event which moved him to joint 1st place overall before the last event! Before yesterday, I had never heard of Omnium Clip here: http://www.dr.dk/Sporten/OL2012/Cykling/2012/08/05/181353.htm
  14. The Danish table tennis player Mie Skov was knocked out by Polish player Natalia Partyka. According to table tennis rules you have to throw the ball to a certain height during serve so the serve is more visible to the opponent. Partyka only has one arm, so she has had dispensation for her serve - after the game Skov complained that it was a huge advantage for the Pole that she was allowed these "masked" serves dut to her handicap. Yeah yeah, sore loser, sour grapes, hiss boo, I know... the point was that even though Partyka didn't win the event, she got a small advantage over her opponents. And that's a slippery slope!
  15. Mr. "perfect" Ainslie against the chubby Dane who retired and only restarted his career 10 months ago He's quite funny - he complains that he has to train now as eating junk food and going to the movies with the kids was so much more fun for him. He must have an exceptional sailing talent to get an Olympic medal with that attitude. Legend
  16. You've had your fair share of gold you greedy gits - let the Dane take gold and Ainslie can have silver...
  17. Our first gold medal at the games! They knew they could win a sprint, but they admitted that they were scared sh*tless about the british guys, and that the Eton Roar was the craziest they had experienced in their careers
  18. Would be lack of format to begrudge them a win in their last game at FP....
  19. I was passing this on to a Pompey fan as a big facepalm article, but re-reading it, I'm not so sure anymore... At first, I read it as the usual plea to the FL about competitiveness. But reading the headline and text, there is no clear recipient for the article - it's just "Appleton sends out Pompey youth warning", Michael Appleton has warned Pompey cannot afford to rely on their youngsters in League One. etc. It then goes on to be more directly aimed at Pompey supporters. Re-reading it, I don't think it's aimed at the FL - I'm quite sure it's just a way to manage expectation from the Pompey fans (and maybe put pressure on whoever takes over). Now it's out there: Appy reckons the current squad will fail, so when it happens, it's not his fault. His hero status will be intact even though he brings them another relegation... In that light it's not so much a facepalm article, just the usual news from Appy's warped dimension...
  20. But if having a club is the most important then wouldn't it be better for the trust to start a phoenix club without all the unwelcome luggage? In other words, is staving off an admin really the most important?
  21. Wondering why a promising keeper wants to go there? It's the same old WBA link, where the keeper's agent Simon Miotto worked with Appy...
  22. Top effort!
  23. It's been asked a thousand times before (ok, 4 times after Pompey standards), but where do you find this list?
  24. Would you be missing a '0' there?
