  1. Inches away from a Foxes own goal... phew!
  2. Cole (striker) off for Collins (defender) - typical Fat Sam move... at least they'll make no assault on our GD then?
  3. Sry, posted in the wrong thread..... here it is: YEEEEEEEEEES!!!
  4. Yeeeeeeessssss!
  5. Wonderful!
  6. St Chalet is sitting with his christmas present wondering what's inside. Slowly starts unwrapping while guessing what could be inside. Evil uncle TSW loses patience and blurts out, "just open the damn thing kid, it's a football!" We know the conclusion of this poll but we can still enjoy the proces, no?
  7. After seeing the post in question I will put that down to a personal spat between you and Alps. You can hardly claim that he's not a real Saints fan on the basis of your mutual dislike. Sorry, I stand by my initial observations... We're all dreadfully involved in this thing but we have different ways of coping with pressure.
  8. He really did state that? I must admit that I can't keep up with all threads in here so much will slip under my radar. But I sincerely hope that it was written in the heat of anger as noone should gloat at other's misfortune* - especially in a situation where everyone will be p*ssed off in the extreme and this place will be like a powder keg at a new year's party... * Misfortune at KUMB obviously excepted
  9. I can follow the logic in your argumentation but I think one of the premises (and hence the conclusion) is wrong: that Alps takes pleasure in seeing Saints fail. I think he hates it more than you and I. Internet fan in that's my final say but still returns to discussion anyway shocker
  10. The post right above yours? No. 25 too? Never mind, it's not an argument I really wanted to land myself in, I just wanted to say my piece and be off. Let's all be friends and wear silly wigs.
  11. Someone who is utterly devastated. And would a non-fan be in such a state? Alps is not a cynic, he seems as much a slave to emotions as the rest of us
  12. It irks me too, but people are drawing the wrong conclusion if they think that Alps is not a Saints fan. He seems extremely involved to me, but he has a rather extreme coping strategy. Personally, I think some of the harsh responses he gets are reasonable given the nature of his posts, but I don't find it reasonable to question his allegiance towards Saints...
  13. Awful decision. Could have given us a win right there. That said, we had two dangerous free kicks with no end result, they had one that won the game...
  14. Without knowing Apls personally, I can almost guarantee you that he is 100% Saints. Actually I think he and I are very similar in some senses - especially when it comes to handling pressure. My bet (sorry Alps, hope you can accept this): Alps is very passionate but also very afraid of being disappointed. The remedy is to always visualise (and put into writing) the most pessimistic version of possible events, so you do not get disappointed. And if things does not go wrong, you only get pleasantly surprised. Also when things go wrong, putting frustrations into writing can be a great therapy - although (as Alps must probably have noticed by now) this rarely gets a good reception amongst other equally frustrated fans. I do the same, only my coping strategy is different: I concede that I can't make a difference and that I might as well blindly support the team and have fun in the process - but deep down I'm still dreading that we'll c*ck up... Right, I'm off to paint my face and find a funny wig for tonight!
  15. Reading KUMB, one poster asked if they could actually do it and got shot down in flames - in a humorous way a la "possessing such optimism you must be young" So basically, they are ready for the playoff and so are we?!
  16. You must time you cockiness better
  17. True that. The Birmingham game is suddenly not so interesting anymore :-/
  18. After Posh we had four "match balls": - Win against Boro (didn't work out sadly) - WHam fail to win against Leicester - Win against Coventry - WHam fail to win against Hull We still have three match balls and one of them is down to our own performance - two of them are down to West Ham's. We are going to finish 2nd one way or the other!
  19. We were one bold ref decision away from the PL there. Team actually played well in long spells, where we piled on pressure. As usual they were quite clinical - in that respect it looked a bit like the Reading game. It's plain to see that this Saints team can play footy, pass it around, make space etc., but we're not threatening enough in the final third of the pitch. I'm sure we will finish the job against already relegated Coventry (unless Leicester finishes it for us). Have faith people!
  20. ffs he was elbowed by a team mate. Add extra time for that ref!
  21. Since the above posting everything went pear shaped... sorry!
  22. We're winning everything in the middle. Playing bloody well just not scoring. Sry for the jinx...
