  1. In case you were wondering snig ger.
  2. Those two words sum up this thread for me. (*giggle*) (*s*******)
  3. I would have thought he'd shop lift at Waitrose...
  4. I think most of what I feel has been said already, but yesterday was the first time I have ever put someone on ignore. Thanks to the joys of quoting I believe I may have been referred to as one of the attention-seekers. Rarely have I come across such lack of self-awareness ,sense of irony or sense of humour! As for the abuse the OP thinks he's received, it's never been from me as I don't always post what I'm thinking, but I've seen enough offensive language from him: 'dweebs', 'happy clappy', 'mutual masturbation' and a generally unpleasant patronising attitude to anyone who doesn't exactly share his own opinion. Plus straw man arguments - I've seen no one say they're happy with our recent form or that we don't need new players. Then he plays the victim and even starts a thread about it. We even got 'is it coz I'm an expat?' - my paraphrase of one of his statements. Well, as somebody else in the Alps I can assure you it's definitely nothing to do with your location..
  5. My hangover after getting up at 4 this afternoon is causing me to suffer, as is Saints performance, but the worst thing is reading this thread. I'm going off to put somebody on ignore...
  6. Not long up after a bit of a night last night... Depressing at the moment, and even more depressing reading the predictable and dogmatic comments from oh... why bother even mentioning it.. Whispering Dave things we need width - lets see what happens second half...
  7. Well, he wouldn't want to accept an offer from someone who wouldn't pass the FAPPT.. My goodness, this thread is entertaining..
  8. Incontinent. Plus he has verbal diahorea...
  9. Petrol is no more expensive in the UK than where I live in Italy or in France on the trunk roads. I filled up in Switzerland and Luxembourg on my Christmas trip over and will definitely make sure I get a good full tank in Lux on the way home. Italian rail fares are cheap: if I want to go to my nearest big city Turin (Torino) on the train it costs €7.90 single. The motorway tolls alone would be €11+ let alone petrol etc. As for "31p a mile to get to a well paid job" - possibly fine, but not everybody has a well paid job. When I move back to the UK I'll need to work part-time (to pay for footie season tickets and the like) so I'll be scrabbling around for work. Transport costs will definitely have a big part to play in my planning spreadsheets. In many societies public transport has an important role in maintaining the flexibility of the economy and reducing pollution and congestion costs (for businesses and customers alike). It's patently obvious the current government don't care about any business except finance, and little concern for the environment either, although reducing the ability of people to travel probably helps in carbon reductions..
  10. Yeah, so is the term happy-clappers. For what it's worth I haven't seen one poster saying they are happy with our December points, I haven't seen one post not agreeing that we need to strengthen and freshen up in the January window. I got in late yesterday afternoon and was happy to see that we were still top by two points, so from that perspective I am happy, and with the comments from NA about their work behind the scenes to strengthen. But I have seen over-reaction, as quoted by the OP, who notably didn't say who he was quoting but 2 minutes later was replied to just to confirm who! Made me laugh anyway.
  11. No problems, as I'm sure plenty of people will do the same to you if we go up automatically, although they may use another orifice. I wouldn't be surprised also if it wasn't a more popular event on here too. We do need to strengthen and freshen up, but it must be easier to sell the club to new players based on still being a couple of points clear as we enter 2012, and being watched by crowds of 30k. The promise of promotion bonuses and future premiership wages might help too.
  12. I think the bid is unlikely but then I remember Keegan's signing which was so completely unexpected all those years ago. But one thing the club don't seem to do these days is "dicking about", so IF there has been a bid it will be entirely serious, and there will have been discreet soundings out before anything gets really made public.
  13. Lack of the affluence of incohol, easy controlled win, saving ourselves for Friday, even the overseas visitors. ;-)
  14. With this thread's worldwide spread it'll be morning somewhere...
  15. Walking away from the ground with some friends we were commenting how quiet it had been, but all agreed probably because it had been such a routine win, even if the football was great at times. I can't remember any really misplaced passes and Morgan was a sheer joy to watch, with Cork much improved on his recent performances from what I've gleaned from internet streams and Saints player. De Ridder's defensive contribution was much improved (I noticed NA congratulating him), and people should give Guly a break; he sometimes takes a breather but I suspect if you looked at the yardage he covers it would be pretty high, I'm sure the club know the stats.. Adam and Rickie seemed a bit below par, but they're always still a danger. With only three days off until the next game it was good to win at a canter and the best bit is, I got my ticket for Friday today and won't be driving afterwards.. I reckon the atmosphere will be a bit better.:-)
  16. I'd risk hitching, everybody will be in a good mood and they know the score about Boxing Day transport, but give yourself a little extra time!
  17. On the Guardian Championship blog the Pompey entry was late...: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/football-league-blog/2011/dec/21/championship-bloggers-half-term-report?commentpage=last#end-of-comments
  18. One of the reasons I drove over from northern Italy is that public transport is so pants over the holiday period; especially with what I want to do. Hiring a car over this period adds to the cost, especially with insurance to cover all the bases, and annual hire insurance doesn't make sense for me. Better my old banger with the snow tyres and the parking dints: none of them my fault. (Italian drivers...). So if anybody wants a lift from Maidenhead and is willing to risk getting this stinker of a cold....
  19. What an apposite user name: "Skate Logic". I'd sooner they had Huselklepp too!
  20. I do like Claridge: the smarmy commentator said perhaps Saints didn't deserve to be top - flattering to deceive and all that - and Claridge put him in his place "I've seen them 5/6 times and they are there on merit." He does good articles on the Footie League too.
  21. You'll be hacked off if we win 6-0 then?
  22. Snow down to 600m last night where I live although the levels gone back up again this morning. The web cams covered in snow here are a _good_ sign!;-) , so for a cheaper experience come to the Italian side of Mt Blanc. Some great skiing and good food. More snow to come next week, bit of a pain really as I'm driving back to the UK for Christmas.. http://www.regione.vda.it/turismo/prima_di_partire/in_tempo_reale/webcam_i.asp
  23. I'll translate it when I've a bit of time...
  24. On the Italian Saints website: http://www.italiansaints.it/it/posts/47/saints-contro-pompey-storia-di-una-rivalit :-)
