  1. Requins=sharks surely?? You should here the strange dialect of French they speak this Italian side of the border. Well actually the true local language is francoprovençâl [arpetan or patoué]. I can probably understand about 25% of it, but get the gist of most conversations!
  2. Anderlecht: went on my own courtesy of a priv flight from dad. Great day out, museums, the match [Osgood!],Robbie Resenbrink (IIRC) and er...the beer (did I say chocolate?) . Bloomin' Chanson d'Amour... Wham away a few years ago: 2-2 and our car load took our chance on home tickets and all got split up. The guy I was next to sussed me and we had a chat: "Good player, that Le Tissier". Another friend was sworn at by a little kid. "Shut up, you little squirt". Big fat mum and dad "Don't you ****ing swear at our kid. Look, there's Southampton supporters here". The other Wham fans, bless 'em, just looked acutely embarassed. Orient away in 1978: on the basis that I can't remember anything. Was it Sealey or Funnell? Doesn't matter now... Does 1976 count?;-)
  3. Ooh, regardes-elle avec les accents!
  4. Either way, I've just been watching whilst my dinner cooks, and I have to say it was a real pleasure, particularly goals 3 and 4.:-) Now we've just got to get Sharp to break his duck properly and teams won't know which way to turn. Did you notice the Derby defenders after those goal? Looking every which way!
  5. je crois que nous devons insister sur regle une: photo, s'il vous plait...
  6. Another ex-regular here (at least on match days). I remember it from Mike Hendricks days but popped in at the beginning of this season. The garden is always popular at the start and end of season, and then there was the Myra Hindley suite (so called)..
  7. It goes without saying that Lee would be having English lessons, but the difference between the two languages is somewhat more than that between English and German/Italian/French etc. When I was in the UK I offered my services as an EFL teacher to Saints, but there's already a tie-up with someone. Shame, I could have had a few practical lessons at Staplewood: "ping the ball!"... At St Mary's another EFL teacher occasionally sat next to me, and he'd taught in Japan. I've only taught a few Japanese/Korean students in the UK but they are certainly different from European students.
  8. Ils sont fous, cettes anglaise..
  9. I assumed he was!
  10. I haven't had a TV since 1988 when my B&W one went phut. Now I'm in Italy even less incentive to have a TV: from what I've seen of it it is seriously crap. But when I was still in the UK it was tiresome to get all the automatic letters, which stopped when I invoiced them for my time in replying to them. I think I made my point. Actually, when I move back at some time it will be quite fun to resume the baiting.
  11. The club could have a nice little revenue stream from all the Japanese fans paying for Saintsplayer to watch the videos. Perhaps he should mention it on his blog! I'm personally looking forward to the "From all angles " from the Derby game.
  12. Just been looking at the table - our goal difference could be valuable in a tight table. But we're going up automatically though, but it's nice to have.;-)

  20. If you need nicotine can't you get chewing gum with it? If you need to suck something, can't you er.. suck a dummy?
  21. "Dear player, if you don't go or accept the deferral I'll have no choice but to liquidate, and so the golden share and the football creditors rule will be irrelevant. You'll take your chance as a creditor with all the rest...."
  22. So my exciting Friday night has been: look at thread, dash of to two hours footie training and back here again giggling away to myself with a 90 centesimi bottle of beer. Cheap entertainment at its best!
  23. s'alright. Half term for me is next week! Back from meeting and pot of tea ready, but I really ought to go and put something in the 'fridge to chill - you never know when you might need a bottle of bubbly..
  24. Gawd, this is addictive. I logged in first thing this morning, left late for my teaching, just back and reading the next two pages. Off to meet a potential new client and wondering how many pages will be added by the time I get back.
