  1. that they actually pay, even if some of them are quite good.
  2. Oh for goodness sake! if I said something like that you'd all say PMT, time of the month or similar juvenalia..
  3. Either way, perhaps someone should tell alpine we're still ahead of WH, not behind. Apart from that, b******s! A bit more closing down in those areas, obviously, but talk about Lucky Strikes... Let's hope Lambert is firing on all cylinders on Monday.
  4. I think we will score one from a cross from Richardson. Thought this thread needed a bit of positivity...
  5. That was a good shot to equalise but a bit too much room. It's all a bit rushed and tense and I think we're being dragged down to their level. guly and lallana both good chances and even Lambert's free kick was a decent chance, Hoiveld has been close with a couple more. I don't think some of their players are too worried if they get an injury which means they have to return to their loaning clubs whereas Saints are trying to avoid being crippled for the run-in. Shame about Morgan as I thought he'd calm us down a bit but Cork has been playing well. The combination of fizzy beer, shouting and hyper-ventilation is building up towards some classic burps later on!
  6. When they come out that tunnel!!! Any doubts will be dispelled...
  7. It's far worse listening to rambling 'what we don't want to do' Dave, or following the match thread, 'yes' '****', and the like. At least at the ground you can see things developing and scream your head off. I think there should be a few streams today, so I shall compromise by screaming my head off at home..
  8. or sister :-)
  9. A few potential replies: 4-1, administrations You've never paid eff all
  10. I'm surprised there hasn't been more semantic discussion and dissection over the "I think". ;-)
  11. No idea who she is, and as a couple of the posters on here are on my ignore list this thread makes even less sense. I shall go back to my bottle of Primitivo.
  12. As a teacher I would consider violence against a pupil a bit of a failure, but I reserve the right to defend myself. You wouldn't do, even to an immature child, what you wouldn't do to an adult. If you did anything to an adult it would be costrued as an assault, so why should it be permitted to a child? The only time I've made physical contact with a child was during a summer school with a French group where, during the crowded end of course disco I found a kid crouched down trying to set light to a varnished gym bench.I didn't make full contact with his head to stop him: more like a gentle stroke across his head, but in the circumstances I'd do it again. An adult I'd probably have made full contact....
  13. I believe that may be Daddy's name... It's a family business.
  14. Yes, I think you've essentially got it..
  15. Blue Square, you'll soon be in the Blue Square, You'll soon be in the Blue Square, etc...
  16. How about "the lost seats due to pompey not filling their allocation", plus the ones without coach tickets, of course....
  17. Now you're just being silly...
  18. It was outside a court...
  19. Halo, you crafty b****r!
  20. So even if he did loan them _some_ money that may not be a "Consideration"? What would be needed for it to be so considered? Clapham et al have been remarkably quiet....
  21. I'm not with him really...
  22. It's strange, but although we've seen through the example of Lambert himself that players can improve I don't get the impression from Carroll that he can. I may well be proved wrong, but at the moment it's Lambert all the way. I don't see a lot of UK football except for the occasional short period watching a stream (and as much Saints as possible, of course), but I find Carroll embarassing to watch. I get embarassed with my own galumphing forward play at times but I'm 3rd division regional women's amateur football...
  23. As I was saying .. haaaaaaa. Ow!
  24. So, so many posts on this thread have me laughing out loud... Trousers piccy one as well. That looks like the top end of Commercial Rd in Pompey?
  25. The club are like a shot-ridden WWII bomber returning to base. Limping in on one engine, almost out of fuel, everybody bailing out whilst they have enough altitude, the control tower give them clearance for a straight in approach, sighs of relief as they touch down... and then the undercarriage collapses and the unreleased bombs go up in a spectacular explosion. So yes, they'll get to the end of the season, but without a buyer or even season ticket money for the following year they are so, so um.. polite language fails me..
